Awesome! Can't wait to find out if she's Pantheon, or what her deal is if not.

What is Ocho?

Powder 04-01-2017 05:03 PM

Looks like a mole. Love it.

BREAKING: @usagiguy is writing and drawing a TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo crossover http://bit.ly/2ns5pzx @EW

Made a new thread for this.

CyberCubed 04-01-2017 05:13 PM

Looks awesome

Powder 04-01-2017 05:15 PM

Oh snap!!!!!!!

CyberCubed 04-01-2017 05:23 PM

Usagi crossover is the biggest news. The Karai universe story we've known for a while, seems like the new mole mutant isn't Dirtbag though.

TigerClaw 04-01-2017 05:27 PM

Any news about the other mutants that will appear in the comic? I'm curious about the new version of Jagwar, whose gonna be female in this universe.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 04-01-2017 05:51 PM

Ocho, eh? Looks awesome.

Although... I'm sad his name is not Jim. :tsad:

turtlefan27 04-01-2017 06:03 PM

All of this looks awesome! Can't wait to read all of this

MikeandRaph87 04-01-2017 06:11 PM

Does Ocho mean no Dirtbag and Groundchuck? :(

Stan Saki doing a TMNT/Usagi one-shot? Its not just Leo interacting with the samurai rabbit? I doubt it would be IDW canon though it would awesome if it was.

Why can't it be IDW canon? The info confirms Usagi is meeting the IDW Turtles for the first time.

We don't know. It very well could be. I am just under the idea that it would be since the Batman crossover is. Any crossover would be optional with continuity. It could be referred back to in TMNT(2011) or TMNT Universe or be freed from continuity. There are pluses both ways.

The Batman crossover doesn't apply to all crossovers, I don't know why you think it would. The Ghostbuster crossover is canon and is being included in the IDW trades, there's no reason to think this isn't canon.

Ghostbuster is licensed to IDW alongside TMNT being licensed to IDW. Usagi Yojimbo is not being licensed to IDW alongside TMNT. That is the difference that made me believe it might not be in cotinuity.

TheJ-manTurtleMan 04-01-2017 07:47 PM

They said in the panel that the Usagi crossover will be canon
One of them also said that Stump asteroid and black suit Raphael might make an appearance.

This is insane, in the best possible way. Here I thought we would only be getting announcements about stuff we already knew, like the upcoming Pantheon two-parter, Trial of Krang/Dimension X, or the Karai arc in Universe...

IDW TMNT is now the definitive iteration of the franchise. It literally has it all. Months away from becoming the longest TMNT run ever, then celebrating its 75th issue with a big "summer event" arc that will most likely be even better than last year's, the promise of a Triceraton presence in the near future, plus Universe getting better and better, and now this crossover... We're only missing a couple of villains and mutants, who I bet will be introduced eventually if the comic goes on for long enough.

All I can say is, thank you everyone at IDW!

biganimefan 04-01-2017 08:35 PM

It's really awesome about the TMNT/Usagi crossover!

Now then...where are the trades for Volume 3(Image) and 4 of Mirage??

CyberCubed 04-01-2017 08:36 PM

I find it interesting how much Archie TMNT Adventure stuff is being added lately. We have Jagwar and Dreadmon being introduced finishing up the original roster of Mutanimals, we have Mammoth appearing, we're in the midst of a Mutanimals arc right now with Man Ray getting a lot of spotlight, Null is bound to get a big arc in the future, and now Stump Asteroid?

We're really only missing Armaggon and maybe Malinga. I'd say Verminator-X too, but he'd just be way too similar to Old Hob. They even have the same color cat fur.

I wouldn't mind a bigger role for Wingnut & Screwloose, too. As for Verminator-X, look, he's already missing an eye... There could very well be a nod in the works from the get-go, or even more than that. Still plenty of time for things to unfold, either before or past #100.

And who's to say Maligna isn't already in business with Null, just like in Archie? Both are interdimensional beings, after all...

Iiiiinterestinnnnng. Forever War tease anyone? :thyper:

CyberCubed 04-02-2017 01:31 AM

I think I recall them saying they wanted all of Archie TMNT to be collected in their trades (or at least up to issue 72) before they even considered The Forever war. The IDW Archie trades are still only collected up to the issue 50's so far.

TheJ-manTurtleMan 04-02-2017 02:12 AM

They also confirmed Maligna, and teased a preliminary concept art.

That's it. I'd say I'm outta here, but I don't wanna get out, this is so great. Maligna! Yes! :o

SERIOUSLY!!???

Somebody please post that concept art. Awesome.

ProphetofGanja 04-02-2017 10:22 AM

Whoa, this seriously surpasses my expectations. I know a Usagi crossover was on the IDW wishlist for a lot of people and I'm glad we're getting one.

I remember the first mention of the TMNTU arc for Karai and the new art from Sophie is amazing. I think I remember hearing that this arc will take place in Japan? Very cool. Although I wonder why the mole mutant's name is Ocho? I guess we'll find out.

I have no idea who Maligna or what the Stump Asteroid is but I'm excited all the same. The IDW Turtles comics are getting really out there, cosmically speaking

Sophie Campbell 04-02-2017 11:27 AM

Here's a bigger image if you guys are interested. They used an older image for the panel, this one is up to date and has another new character, Natsu. ;)

CyberCubed 04-02-2017 11:32 AM

That new mole mutant looks rather interesting, I wonder where Karai picks him up or mutates him from.

ChosenOne 04-02-2017 11:44 AM

Wow, Ocho looks seriously jacked up... He reminds me of Slash, visually speaking.

Ahh, so cool! The mole (he/she?) is so cute! Very powerful looking too

Are you allowed to say when this will be coming out? Is it the story arc coming after the Dreadmon arc?

I was thinking the same. The heavy hitter of the group. Wind/Fu(Koya), Water/Sui(Bludgeon), Earth/Chi (Ocho). I wonder how that will come into play.

Does Ocho eliminate any use of Grounchuck and Ditbag by extenstion the way that Slash takes up any role of Tokka and by extension Razhar?

Natsu, the leader of the Foot Clan branch in Japan, perhaps?

Ocho is a she, glad you like her! The Karai arc is after Dreadmon, yeah, issues #12-15. I think that places the first issue in July..? #9 is this month, 10 is May, 11 is June. I think? :tconfuse:

Yeah. :( Part of the story involves Koya dealing with not being able to fly anymore.
