U2WaTCHer 10-27-2003 06:08 PM

also is there a way to turn those stupid batman words off when u hit people lol

coryroo24 10-27-2003 06:21 PM

yes i believe you can turn them off in the options menu. I think under other settings. But I can't be sure because I'm studying and not playing :dead:

Karpo_007 10-27-2003 06:23 PM

If they sell, sequels are sure to follow.

coryroo24 10-27-2003 06:24 PM

it better have 4 player support and some vehicle levels

Reznorite420 10-27-2003 08:06 PM

Personally, I'd like it to be a direct sequel to this one and have little changed about it in terms of graphic capabilities and look...

You would think 4player would be good, but I think it would suck. The 2 player camera already sucks, could you imagine having 4 turtles? Like Nanobot......that took me and my cousin about 5 times to beat it because it was hard to see. But i think they should put it on anyway for people who can deal with it.

Hopefully, they could fix the camera for multiplayer in the sequal.

Dinny 10-28-2003 12:32 PM

An interview with 1 of the Konami guys said that there was a sequel.

Kid Icarus 10-28-2003 12:43 PM

4 player won't happen unless Sony makes a diffrent PS2 with 4 controller outlets, of if Gamecube or x-box suddenly over throw PS2 as the leading console.

they could make the camera system work pretty well with 4 players by having block areas that you are all in at one time, and give it a sort of isometric view point.

Blaze DTGG 10-28-2003 02:18 PM

the chances of the PS2 being overthrown are slim to none at this point.

and It would be neat if they could fix the multiplyer mode for the game. as far as the camera angles go, that was really the only problem I had with the game. you cant change the camera angle at all. And it makes certain parts harder to play.

I wish the came was a little more like Dynasty warriors as fas as the camer angles go.

The guys over at Sony haven't met me yet...

Ninja Tiptup 10-29-2003 12:09 AM

They wouldn't short change GCN and XBOX merely because PS2 can't handle more than 2 players without the multi-tap added. No reason why they couldn't have it be 1-4 even with that. They'd still have two players at minimum and 4 with the multi-tap.

It's all the camera issues I believe. On some bosses it's dang near impossible to win with a second turtle "helping" because the camera is so awful. Nano being best example out of the first four levels, but I'm guessing there are more cases later in the game.

Dane E5R 10-29-2003 12:18 AM

As always, I'm the odd man out. I thought the cameras were great, or atleast above average. It was actually one of the things I commented on when I was playing with my friend. I'd actually like to see a game with a brand new plot and all new cut scenes made just for the game.. That would just be too sweet. I want it.

Karpo_007 10-29-2003 08:01 AM

Like Isad somewhere before, to make it 4 player would mean whole new kind of level desing and camera angles. But I think it could work.

I'm going to have to agree with The Karp-ster here(Can I call you that? :) )

If they tweeked the engine a little, and re-vamped the Camera angles the game would rock for 4 player mode.

Knock your self out.

I hope Konami will listen to fans and desing next game 4 players in mind.

GK Punk 10-29-2003 08:39 AM

With my experiances with Konami, it seems they don't like to listen to fans to well -_-
(atleast back when I was in to Castlevania really big)

Here's to hoping they've changed.

Karpo_007 10-29-2003 08:48 AM

Yeah, let's hope so.

Relay 10-29-2003 09:14 AM

They would have to revamp a lot of the game in order to make it 4 player. Right now when you play 2 player, you share the regular number of continues that you would have playing 1 player. Also, there are no more enemies when playing 2 player nor are they harder. You fight the same amount and strength of bad guys playing 2 player as you do playing 1 player. I thought that was pretty disappointing because it became less challenging. To make a 4 player mode work well, they would have to figure out a different system for using continues and change the number/difficulty of enemies based on how many players there are. Konami may not be willing to make all those changes for a sequel but instead use what is already in place with new levels. It's all just a matter of how much effort Konami is willing to put into this franchise for the second time around. I do hope there is a sequel with 4 player compatibility.

Trunks 10-31-2003 10:19 AM

well personally Iont have a problem with camrea angles but I only play one player so that doesnt matter, but I like this game real well so im not to worried about getting a sequal right know but still would like to see one in the future.

EZweasel 10-31-2003 10:27 AM

if they make a sequel lets just hope its not a beat-em up style game.

Unfortunetley for people who don't like beat em ups, I'm almost positive they will. They already have the engine for a beat'em up made and I doubt they'd try and make an entirely new engine unless the franchise proves incredibly sucsefull.

(Unlike my spelling, yech)

Bowser_Koopa 10-31-2003 10:36 AM

if this turtle hype gets to be as big as the other one

Yeah, if they sell as well as the did back in the days I could see it happening. I know how much EZ Wants to see a more RPGish styled TMNT game, and I wouldn't be all too ooposed to it.
(Depending on the route the went with it)

Karpo_007 10-31-2003 01:03 PM

I think a TMNT game with some stealth elements could work, But I just can't see that happening.

GK Punk 10-31-2003 11:10 PM

I'm not so sure konami would actually do it, but If they did *dreams*
For now I just see beat'em ups in our future.

Bowser_Koopa 11-01-2003 09:44 AM

io would't like an rpg tmnt game >_< i already don't like most of the rpgs. the only one is Zelda, and some ppl say its not rpg , oh well *shruds*

Yeah, that's why I said "RPG-ish" if it was a full blown RPG, I wouldn't like it. have you ever played Tenchu? Something like that would be cool for a game. (based on Mirage TMNT especially)

Bowser_Koopa 11-01-2003 11:08 AM

i didn't think tenchu was a rpg-ish but, now that u mention it... that would an awesome thing :o :) :)

You may have a point, I just didn't know what else to call it

Nturtle 11-01-2003 11:21 AM

Actually if you read the interview with the head Konami honchos on the official site, they do talk about a sequal, and it sounds like there is already work underway.

Dosn't suprise me, each time a new WWE Game comes out, the day of release the team starts making the next one.

Meira-Bates 11-01-2003 11:36 AM

Oh mi gosh! I loved Tenchu! It was a little iritating without the items code, but I dun care what people say...Tenchu was a good game! I was actualy thinking...who was it that gave a video game idea thread else where?....well when I was reading it and they mentioned stealth missions I immeaditly thought of Tenchu and was almost dissapointed when they said you'd have to fight all the enemies on the level if you were seen...though it's still very awesome and not as annoying as getting caught if you are seen. A Tenchu style TMNT game (compleat with stuff like graphling hooks to climb up high walls and the like as well as a few vehicle levels and one swiming related level) would really kick arse.

While I am a RPG fan, I can deffinetly say I can't see a TMNT rpg game working unless it's a pretty darn inovative battle system. It just don't seem right for ninja to just stand around and wait for thier turn to trade blows. And on top of that there's gotta be other playable characters besides the main team in a RPG...or at least /I/ certainly see that as important. So who else would be playable? Splinter and Casey, yeah...but they seem more like permanet part of the team. Maybe the underground mutants could be playable on thier part of the story? Ehh...but yeah...I agree...I can't see a clean cut RPG happening for the turtles.

Ninja Tiptup 11-01-2003 07:59 PM

Well the Konami rep said (in a Game Spy interview) that a sequel is plausable AND that they are interested in putting the classic games in it.

So here's what I want in a new TMNT game.

- A beat 'em up (it just works for TMNT ya know)
- 4 player for co-op AND VS mode (like Smash Bros. only not single plained)
- More freedom of movement and less "track" levels
- Better camera (one setting for single or two player mode and one for multiplayer mode)
- The original arcade unlockable (as well as Turtles in Time, and the others if possible)
- More combo's for each turtle as well as a "special" move or two (or three)
- More variety in sound bytes (not so much more, but each turtle should have at least 3 or 4 things to say for every attack)
- Moving mouths in the text scenes (they look so goofy without moving their mouths)
- Special "stealth" levels here and there to keep things interesting
- More variety in bad guys and less near endless battles (those got old fast)
- Vehicle levels including the Battle Shell, Shell Cycle, Sewer Slider, and the Foot Ski thing
- Skateboard trials (half pipe, full pipe, no pipe TMNT skate boarding goodness - a mini game so to speak)

And finally... the game should be exclusive to Gamecube and Xbox so there would be less graphical and design limitations. Honestly don't you think the GCN and Xbox versions of TMNT could have looked at least 10 times better? I do, PS2 is just dragging the other two systems down.

It could be released on PS2 as well I suppose but I'd rather them downgrade it for PS2 so the Xbox and GCN versions could be as good as possible. There would also be a PC version of course, but not right off the bat (like the first game).

Yeah, I know it's a tall order but seriously I think they could pull it off without a sweat.
