IDW/Mirage hybrid adaptation?
For some reason, possibly seeing that cringe inducing motion comic right before the PD3 news, I got to thinking about what a show adapting IDW would be again. The common counterpoint I tend to see is that there's too little material to work with, something I don't really agree with. Even if you needed to to combine four issues to make a single episode, you'd still end up with roughly fiftyfive twenty minute episodes, which could be broken up into four thirteen to fourteen episode seasons.
But let's say I did agree with the idea that it's too short to make work, what about throwing in a few Mirage stories? The thing about Mirage is that a lot of the stories aren't very continuity heavy, loosely connected episodes if you will. A couple of them should be rather easy to fit into the IDW continuity, if you'd really want to. Obviously you can't make Turtles in Space fit, but Donatello's micro shouldn't be a problem. Nor should many of Tales issues. What do you say, could this work? |
Obviously, yes, with the right people doing it.
Will it happen? Nah. |
Since many Mirage stories aren't intended for younger viewers, why not IDW-4 Kids hybrid? (since 4 Kids in general is "Mirage for children and family").

2015, it’s on the IDW app (probably there’s hardcopies back then too).
I believe they’re new stories, not reprint. |

Dreamwave 2003
These comics look just like the Dreamwave issues from 2003.
|
I think you are saying you want Mirage as the primary influence? Well, I thought it already was. Or is it story-line adaptations? 4Kids did that with the 2003 cartoon for the most part.
Yes, that is just reprints of the seven Dreamwave issues. Too bad we did not get the Turtle Terminator, but its not important compared to Forever War. |

Wrong, it’s 2012 (in the comics credits but on the app it says 2015).
Go check for yourself I’m tired of you idiots. |
The covers you posted are originally from the 4kids Dreamwave comics. That's a fact, it cannot be debated.
It's possible IDW reprinted them (if only digitally?) but yeah, no question. The Dreamwave logo is still on two of the three you posted. If the app uses those covers for some other comics, be it deliberate or by mistake, fine, but that doesn't change what they were made for. Don't smugly call people idiots when you obviously are out of the loop yourself. |

Can anybody share a screenshot of the IDW Turtles App store? |

Still doesn't change the fact that that is the covers from the Dreamwave comic that was published in 2003.

The level of willful ignorance in this thread by one person is just too damn high.

There's even a thread for #1 dating back when it was released

I can’t even read the link thread properly since the pics wouldn’t load and it’s overall a mess. Is it even the same comics?
Anyway, I posted facts and it states as such. End of story. :tcool: Quote:

Hoo boy... never thought I'd like to see the day that an entire season fell flat. But man. Somebody needed to hear the pitch for the season, calmly nod, and then tell them: https://68.media.tumblr.com/fc437036...18vqo1_540.gif |
We watch it literally every day, since it's on FX constantly. I'm quite sure I've seen the entire series at least eight to a dozen times.
Some are better than others. |

Since 2012 according to Comixology but probably digital only. |
An IDW/Mirage hybrid would be too much, because IDW in and of itself is a hybrid of every single TMNT iteration ever. So in my opinion... no, it wouldn't work.

"IDW/Mirage hybrid" is an oxymoron. IDW is nothing if not "hybrid everything, mostly Fred Wolf." Including Mirage.
And no. Dumb. Unless we just mean "Let's do Mirage, but add the reincarnation angle. Nothing else." I'd get behind that. |
Neatoman I know you like the IDW series but I can't see it working because I feel that comic doesn't have enough to distinguish itself enough from other iterations of TMNT. Plus while I'm not an expert on the IDW series the Mirage one was much more raw in tone.
