i think u have a point with all the technnology we have now, they could have made a very realistic cgi tmnts, but they went with what we have now, and if the movie is relased with that look it won't be as successful as they think :|

I don't see how someone could be so upset over a CGI TMNT movie. I think the turtles in CGI will have more advantages than a live action movie using puppets. Either way, I'm going to support any new TMNT projects. It's better than having nothing. ;)

I'm gonna support the new TMNT stuff too, i've been waiting for new projects to pop up for years, at this point i don't really care what format the new movie will be, im just glad they will be back...

wow this is the closest thing I've seen to an angry topic since I got here :dead: I think the CGI turtles actually look really good except for thier eyes which could use some work of course it is only a pilot and none of the models are near compete and all the rendering is basic.
CG offers a huge number of advantages especially when it comes to fight scenes(you try fighting in a 50 pound turtle suit :lol: ), I'll admit John Woo isn't a great director but with Peter Laird I think we'll see some great old school turtle action!!!!!!!! :D

I agree to that. Hey, if they can get fight scenes and graphics sorta like they do in some of the video games these days (Dead or Alive 3 for example), I'd be quite happy. :nod: I really do hope this movie will be more comic book oriented than the previous ones.

the only thing I really don't like about the new movie is that they say they are going to drop all the surfer lingo i.e COWABUNGA!!! :x

i support anything tmnt 110% good or not good. there is a good point in CGI. they can actually kill the foot soldiers instead of just bonking them on the head (and the foot soldiers could be robots :wink: ). i think the CGI would look awesome and it would enable, enhance and expand the usual capabilities the ninja turtles would have if it was real with puppets.

I think CGI could be a neat route to take. Its not common and definetly gives an effect of its own, crossing a line of animation and real life that is hard to walk on. Animation is cool cause you can do almost anything you can imagine on it where RL you can only do what can be built and constructed.

I'm for trying it once, isnt gonna hurt me. :3

Yes, the pilot was a test, like a rough draft. It was rough and quickly done as an example they could show networks to try and sell the idea for a CGI series. It eventually became the pilot for the movie. It is in no way a finished version.

for those of you who DLed the whole CGI clip from the official site... with the fight on top of the semi, didn't Raph sound a bit like Michaelangelo or Donatello?

well, it just didn't sound like Raph, that's all I'm saying!!!

I know that scene and I thought the same thing. It's just wasn't RAPH, ya know. I agree that he sounded more like Don or Mike, just with the way he said it.

I bet the fight scenes for the CGI movie will be awesome... and if the quality is anywhere near the Final Fantasy movie, I'll be totally happy. Of course, I hope it has a better storyline than Final Fantasy... :embarass:

They're talking about the fight scene on the truck, where Raph and Casey Jones take out a few Foot Soldiers. :anime:

I'd tell you at what minute of the pilot that happens but a cracked cd made my cd drive explode, and my dvd player doesn't want to read my cds for some reason, so no can do :dead: but it's only 5 mins so you'll prolly find it quick :)
