April's Best Job?
Thought the franchise, April has mostly been known to either be a lab assistant/programmer, an antique shop owner, or a T.V. news reporter. In the TMNT 2007 movie, she was a treasure hunter for hire, an extension of her job as an antique shop owner, which I think is a logical evolution of her character, seeing as how she hangs around four adventure seeking mutant turtles. In my opinion, the news reporter role is extremely cliche and staying put at an antique store doesn't seem challenging enough, but one could argue it brings some normalcy to her life of mutants, ninjas, and aliens. Thoughts?

Definitely the 2007 movie for me, for the reasons you gave. She used her skills she got from searching for her uncle Augie.

TV reporter probably pays the best, although I confess to having no idea what the current take-home rate on "Indiana Jones"-ing is. Lab assistant probably paid second-best.
|
Lab assistant was probably the most prestigious, but it was pretty short lived. You know, because her boss was criminally insane.

Remember one ep of the original cartoon where Burne threatened that he would, "Send April down to the mailroom," or "One more mistake and I'm busting you to the mailroom!"
Is the mailroom really that much a step down from a news reporter? |

Is village idiot much of a step down from Senior Municipal Moron? |
Channel Six News reporter. I would have liked to have seen her end up behind the anchor desk regularly.
|
News reporter, so she can be where the action is. As long as she tones down reporting about the turtles, to keep them in the shadows.

I'd have to go with news reporter although as antique owner she got some cool stuff.

One thing I think would be cool is if she could be an astronomer, and discover the existence of some planets iconic to the TMNT franchise (Hoonib, Morbus, Neutrino, Utrominon or whatever).

I rather liked her job in the 2007 animated movie. That just seemed really cool. But for me I think her as the reporter was well used in the old series. She was good at hunting down information and had access to things.

She was also an apartment manager/owner in Image.
|
I like her as the owner of an inherited antiques store.

If April herself worked in the police force, I would prefer her working in the office, supplying the turtles with information. If she is an active policewoman, it would suddenly be the turtles following April on her adventures. |

I like her as a journalist/reportner.
Being a programmer doesn't give her too many options to be useful other than being a back up Donatello. If she is a journalist April can be oh-so conveniently at just the right place at just the right time...because she's nosy. Also as a journalist one can maybe assume she is a bit of a jack of all trades because she has to get the hot scoop. And April will do anything it takes to get it. It makes her a very proactive character without having to make her a fighter. I prefer it that way. |

I forgot which season 5 episode it was in which April rode a motorcycle and wore a blue helmet (Leonardo the Renissance Turtle I think it was).
That's what I imagine she would've been like as a policewoman |

I wonder if her being a journalist from the very beginning was a decision influenced by Superman having Lois as a reporter.
Anyway as for her best job? Cleaning up after the turtles living in her apartment in the second movie lol. Joking joking joking. News reporter of course. She gets the scoop, and a reporter is always investigating anyways, which lets her help out the Turtles. |

I thought that was her original job?

I couldn't choose between the science/tech role and her 2007 role. I like the 2k7 job but it suited that story line, so far as what works in the general stories I would go for the science/tech role.
