For real though, the art actually looks really good. Excited to see where this goes.

Vicky82 07-15-2019 12:52 PM

Why did it have to be Power Rangers, I can't stand Power Rangers.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 07-15-2019 01:00 PM

Love the art, don't care about Power Rangers or most crossovers. But this will probably sell quite well anyway.

Enjoy, you Power Rangers fans, you. :tlol:

oldmanwinters 07-15-2019 01:22 PM

I'm curious as to whether these Mighty Morphin' Rangers are in-canon with the TV series, and thus... will this be a prequel to the Next Mutation Turtles-Power Rangers in Space crossover episodes?

MikeandRaph87 07-15-2019 01:23 PM

I quit Power Rangers with the TMNT crossover episode and only the Boom! series made me look at it again. I know I said it a million times. It was a spit in the face of the original six and Ninja Turtles as I knew them. This is what the 90s' kid in me wanted and no there was no competition with the TMNT losing steam to Power Rangers I freaking loved them both and TMNT was always my #1. Tommy in green and the Green Team in the same image that I did not draw in the early to mid 1990s'? 21 years later Power Rangers gets redeemed. After Boom!'s success and crossing over with the Justice League and TMNT having several crossovers it was inevitable to happen. The 90s' kid and mega TMNT fan and former MMPR fan in me is excited for this. Maybe the TMNT can take a lead of the two featured and not get dragged through the mud this time around too,but I doubt it since we have Boom! apparently writing it instead of the preferred IDW. No Andros or Venus to ruin it all either.

qt.bangerang 07-15-2019 01:25 PM

Can't be any worse then the Batman crossovers.

Loved both as a kid so it should be a fun story. Imagine Rita growing Bebop and Rocksteady...she might win actually.

The first one was great and so was the first five or the six animated issues.

Why Rita when you can have Lord Zedd?

I can confirm that the Boom Studios Rangers are an alternative reality to the original TV series; many elements remain the same but ultimately it is quite different.
I've read up to the conclusion of the Shattered Grid arc and it's pretty good but I'm strictly a Zordon era fan and the inclusion of many later ranger characters put me off reading further due to a lack of familiarity, that and I don't have the time to catch up on 20 years of episodes.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Hasbro Power Ranger Lightning Collection is super good. I hope this will lead to Hasbro TMNT figures in the future...

Allio 07-15-2019 02:02 PM

“Drawn by beyond the grid artist”

Crap.

"The Power Rangers arrive in New York City to find Tommy Oliver - AKA The Mighty Morphin Green Ranger - but soon discover he's joined forces with the villainous Shredder and the Foot Clan! As the Rangers are sent reeling by this betrayal, they're confronted by another (fr)enemy - the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Can these heroes find a way to work together to defeat the bad guys and save the world from total destruction?!"
Never really thought too much about Power Rangers geography/world, and never really thought about what real-life cities would be included on their world. Looks like they have a New York City!

Also... Angel Grove, California was founded by the British in 1775? In the show, it always looked like a small town, community where everybody knew everybody's business... until the big monster battles took them through the urban metro!

Will this be non-canon like the Batman crossovers?

Yes, if both participants in a crossover are IDW then it would be cannon, but if one of the participants are not IDW published then it is considered non-cannon like how Power Rangers is published by Boom!.

Btown 07-15-2019 03:08 PM

Now this is something I've been waiting for! Really surprised its taken this long to make it happen

A pity, Power Rangers had some damn good seasons afterwards that you missed out on.

Allio 07-15-2019 04:03 PM

Definitely. Space, Time Force, and RPM is essentially the best.

Cryomancer 07-15-2019 04:35 PM

There's s quote in that article that goes " And that thing you’re really hoping we’ll do? Yeah, that’s in here, too.”

What the hell does that even mean? I'm familiar with both franchises and I'm drawing a total blank here. Transforming TMNT? TMNT getting robots? What? There is no obvious thing coming to my mind.

LeotheLateBloomer 07-15-2019 04:48 PM

While I love both TMNT and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, I really dislike when the two are often compared together. And I know the reason why people do that but they are two entirely different properties. So I can't really say that I'm excited over this despite the art style looking clean. If this was 5-9 year old me, maybe.

I thought the first crossover was fairly good (minus a few things), the second one I haven't fully read but based on what I saw I disliked and the third one looks kinda iffy.

Ninjinister 07-15-2019 04:53 PM

Where the hell is Jennika?

neatoman 07-15-2019 04:59 PM

So who decided to have a TMNT/Zyuranger crossover? Seems like a rather random sentai to pick.

It's MMPR, not Zyuranger. That makes it not random at all.

I feel like it's gotta Super Mutation. I mean Dragon Zord/ Shredder dragon vs Megazord/Saint Turtle. would be perfect.

If this is canon, it can only take place before #50

I know, it's a joke. I'm pretending I don't know what Power Rangers is for comedic effect, it's meant to be funny because knowing about Zyuranger and not Power Rangers is extremely unlikely. What would make it even funnier is that MMPR is more well known than Zyuranger, despite just being a heavily edited version of Zyuranger, something that wouldn't normally happen (or at least not stay more well known under normal circumstances). Do I really need to use emojis to clarify when I'm joking around here?

The ultimate question! I assume not if there’s no Jennika.

Allio 07-15-2019 05:33 PM

still can take place before #50

OK if they actually did that I would be kind of impressed, yeah. I really doubt they would though.

I guess we could make predictions. I'm gonna say they make some Metalhead or Turtle Van zord and it combines with the megazord like the "dragonzord shoulders" combo, because that feels like a "least resistance" idea to me.

Well I just didn't get that you were joking. Sorry. Sometimes it's not clear in mere text like this.

Like these? Saw this at my little niece’s house the other day and I’m surprised how power rangers have been reduced to literally childs play nowadays:

Allio 07-15-2019 06:24 PM

I blame the Neo-saban era.

Mewzard 07-15-2019 08:32 PM

It's been a very long time since my love for Rangers and Turtles has crossed over. And it's bound to be a darker crossover than the old one, given what both IDW and Boom have done with their comics.

I'm quite intrigued with where this could go.

slingtheory 07-16-2019 01:38 AM

Well here we are. The crossover I've wanted to see since 1993. Wish I could show that cover to my 7 year old self. And it doesn't hurt that these both happen to be the only two comic series I'm actively following on a monthly basis either

Just cause she's a turtle now doesn't mean she's gonna hang out with them all the time.

Allio 07-16-2019 11:17 AM

Why would they even have Jennika, IDW doesn't even know if she is going to work or if it will blow up in their face.

This isn’t being published by IDW; hence I don’t think it will feature plot points from the IDW series (so probably no Jenny, no Splinter in charge of the Foot, no Pantheon, etc.)

shredder orokusaki 07-16-2019 01:41 PM

Now i will kiil power rangers too!

The only thing I can think is that Rita is going to grow Shredder into a giant to fight the Zords?

Andrew NDB 07-16-2019 05:50 PM

It's probably some Fred Wolf/Platinum Dunes hybrid Turtles in this.
