new tmnt showing coming to netflix

Possible tmnt show headed to Netflix with new nick/Netflix deal

So, an adaption close to mirage aimed at teens. How reliable is the source, those who are familiar with it?
I'll wait and see what turns up, given there has been talk already about a live action show, but maybe there was an idea bouncing around which cased that. Guess we'll see if something more comes out or not.

Not sure so far it's the only article about it. But saw it and thought it was worth a share on here

CyberCubed 11-14-2019 11:31 AM

So this is just a rumor and not a confirmation on anything. Fake news title.

Chris 11-14-2019 11:37 AM

We Got This Covered is known for throwing loads of **** at the wall and then claiming they scooped it if something does stick. They did it earlier this year with Crisis on Infinite Earths guest stars, they do it with Disney remakes around the time of each remakes release. So it’s no surprise to see this after the Netflix Nickelodeon deal this week.

That said, Kevin Eastman did allude to something like this being possible during an SDCC interview with Kevin Eastman this summer so maybe?

I’m going to wait for a reliable source before getting excited but I would love a more adult targeting live action TMNT series and it could help Netflix fill the gap left by the Marvel shows. It will be more teen targeted than those obviously, but a live action show for adults/the now teens who grew up on 2K12 show would be awesome and a nice counter balance to Rise.

wegotthiscovered is clickbait BS never use them for sources. so this is most likely fake news. WGTC pulls stuff out of their ass and posts it as legit.

IMJ 11-14-2019 12:15 PM

As soon as you see clickbait headlines along the right side bar or down at the bottom of any website, you know you are at a chum site. Don't give sites like that traffic at all.

samxsteal 11-14-2019 12:22 PM

I just thought I'd share I'm not saying it true just saying I saw this article and thought some people might like to see it

It's just that sometimes secondary convo comes out of a post. Chum sites are called chum sites for a reason, so any opportunity to direct people away from them is a good thing.

Beyond that, it's totally cool that you posted the info! If it was true, I think TMNT could do very well on Netflix - especially if Nicktoons would have difficulty floating their own streaming service like Disney+.

IndigoErth 11-14-2019 12:56 PM

Would be awesome if it was ever true, but does still sound like a long shot and too conveniently like what Eastman had said. Won't get my hopes up unless there is a solid leak about anything of that nature.

Sounds more like a mashup of Eastman's comment and the fact that Netflix really is doing a 'Rise' movie.

True which is likely but there's summer hope with the Netflix Nickelodeon deal let's hope the or the same energy into they're stuff as Disney did lol

Lol! I just said this yesterday:

Netflix has no problem aiming animation at adult audiences. Hopefully they can bring Nickelodeon to the party.

I dream of seeing an animated adaption of Mirage's City at War, complete with Jim Lawson/Eastman/laird-inspired art. I dream.

Not the same thing at all, but close enough for me. Hopefully.

AquaParade 11-14-2019 02:16 PM

EDIT: I'm going to reserve my feelings until we get some new sources.

Interesting though.

Roseangelo 11-14-2019 06:51 PM

There is literally no supporting information for this headline.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 11-14-2019 07:51 PM

Wishful thinking. It'd be nice.

PApagreg 11-14-2019 09:27 PM

Anyone else kinda hope we get a TMNT X Bojack Horseman crossover.

Andrew NDB 11-14-2019 09:48 PM

FAKE news.

He swears he's not trolling guys. Like, for real.

Yes, there is a TMNT movie in production for Netflix, but it's a Rise film. It's been talked about for the last year. No, there is nothing planned for a TMNT live action series.

Yes because me liking a show you don't like and me making joke is the same thing.

You're not a real fan, which is okay, but it's not fair to the real fans who love TMNT.

D Piddy 1982 11-15-2019 08:47 AM

Any new TMNT TV show or movie, right at the start, before any sort of pre-production has taken place, they ALWAYS say something like "the tone will be dark" or "the tone will be similar to the original comics".

They never are. It's BS to try and get the fans on-board/interested.

Of course the only version that got anywhere close was the 1990 movie.

:tlol: I don't think anyone said that of Rise before it came out... but for the most part, you're absolutely right.

I really hope you are at most a teen because I cannot see a fully developed adult using "you're not a true fan" mentality just because they don't agree with a certain iteration of a property. I'm the guy who criticized the crap out of the 2k12 incarnation but even I at my worst wouldn't deny someone of being a fan just because they like the show.

Jester 11-16-2019 08:40 AM

No TommyT, he's still a true fan. He just likes something you don't. It's ok to like different things...didn't realize I'd have to point that out to a freakin adult, but welcome to internet fandom.

Knock that elitist garbage off. We're all Turtle Fans here. I hear some people even like *gasp* THE NEXT MUTATION.

But you always cite this source :D

And I always decry it.

It appears the tables have turned.

No, it probably is “fake news”, but to be fair, they are citing someone who apparently leaked two things which have turned out to be true. This could be real.

MsMarvelDuckie 11-17-2019 08:20 PM

Interestingly enough, I have been semi-following something similar on The Old Turtle Den on YouTube. While nothing definite has been said, there have been hints and leaks of SOMETHING being worked on. Maybe this is it, or maybe it's the supposed reboot movie. Maybe a bit of both.

But this is Netflix!!! Every series is dark and edgy on old Netflix. :D
