New Episode Discussion: T.inS.- The Big House

[EDITZ - put in a more interesting poll for this ep, since it sounded like you wanted us too, Machias. ~HT ]

Hello, all you soon to be narcoleptic Turkey Addicts! :D

Well, I am here a lil early, because
1. I'm not gonna be here this or next Saturday.
2. No teasers from me for next week... :(

Gah, last time we saw the boys, they were stuck in the cargo hold of the Triceraton ship, not to mention with no air. The guys get captured by the Loveable Horny Militants and tossed into prison for the Rest of Eternity.

The End.

Waitasec! That's not right....

Hehe, ooh, evil Evil Republic. Seems Mozar's using the guys' lives to blackmail the loveable Candy-coated Honey-toid (yeh, I know, bad jokes...) to get him to build the teleportal.

Hehehe, I sense a lil bit of 'Cool Hand Luke' in the near future for the turtles. Specially Raph. I just hope he stays away from the Cross-dressing Bubba, and I can only say this...

"DONT DROP THE SOAP!!!!"
*evil chuckle*

*sings Anything but Lonely*
Well, Raph gets his tail tossed into Solitary, while the others plan to break out and help Raph too.
*hums Jailhouse Rock*

But things Never go right for the boys, and they get Shackled!
[gutter mind] Ooh...a wee bit of S&M?[/guttermind]

Whoo! We get to watch some Gladiator Action!!! Wonder if they've got the American Gladiators or Russel Crowe doin a cameo... :D

And my last words on this episode, in respect to the origins of Gladiators, Fighting arenas, and those Crazy Greeks... ;)

http://www.acmewebpages.com/graphics/pic13.jpg
TOGA! TOGA!! TOGA!!!

Heh, yeah, mods can come and post a reply and tell me to lay off the all nighters and M&Ms... *munch munch*

azure turtle 11-18-2003 03:50 PM

Lay off the all nighters and M&Ms. ;)

Sounds like an exciting ep! Should be plenty of fun.

BTW, why won't you be here next week, Machias? Are you on break, or is something else going on? :(

Machias Banshee 11-18-2003 09:43 PM

eh, no M&Ms...broke....All-nighters...dunno...

Yep, Thanksgiving break! I'll visit the family, Get selected to do a bunch of the cooking, setting, etc, for thanksgiving, and do more homework... :dead:

HorseTechie 11-19-2003 09:41 AM

Mmm.. War of the Gladiators! This ep should be bloody fun...

http://www.poster.net/gladiator/glad...we-4003196.jpg

azure turtle 11-19-2003 11:27 AM

Waitasec... I thought the gladiator battle was supposed to happen next week? I'm confused. Oh well... Only three more days 'til the episode airs. :D

Enjoy the break then, Machias! Rest up, and eat plenty of good food. ;)

HorseTechie 11-21-2003 10:09 AM

Erhmm.. well. they get taken to the Gladiator ring at the end. All the same, it still reminds me of Russell Crowe's situation. From prisoner to gladiator. Cheap labor! :P

*comes back, unlocks thread*

And now we're open for business! 8)

azure turtle 11-22-2003 08:12 AM

I bet we'll see some Gladiator references or spoofs in this ep, or the next one. Should be sweet! :D

Okay, since Machias isn't here, I'll do the honors and unlock this topic for discussion! So, what'd you think of today's episode?
*goes back to sleep... it's only 7:20am here*

EDIT: Aye! Ya beat me to it, HT!

HorseTechie 11-22-2003 08:20 AM

Usually when I come here times before, no one has opened the thread. So I thought to be nice and get here first to unlock it. But it looks like you were thinking the same, Azure. Awww... get back to bed, eh? :P

Ashangelo 11-22-2003 09:04 AM

Ok well out of all the Turtles in Space this is my fav! I love the replacement weapons lol And when Leo kisses the plungers and then like 2 seconds later he's like UGH! lol and the face he made was priceless!

Peanut 11-22-2003 09:04 AM

That was an awesome ep. The whole broom/plungers/spoons/toilet brush thing was hilarious. The fight was pretty cool and once again Mike was pretty funny in this one. Great ep. As usual.

Meira-Bates 11-22-2003 09:05 AM

Hehehe Anyone else roll laughing at Raph's battle cry? ^.^ "Spooon!" Uhrmm anyway...man I felt so sorry for Mikey in this ep X.x @.@ and he to love the scene with Leo and the plungers X.x I liked a lot about this ep, just can't even start listing half the things...but I was surprised when I saw spoon coming from a mile away and it actualy happened...

Stefano 11-22-2003 09:13 AM

they had a highschool superbowl instead of this. I MISSED IT. and they dont show reruns. where can i download it. Please can someone help me out.

cqb101 11-22-2003 09:34 AM

Great ep! I really liked it!

Raven 11-22-2003 09:37 AM

dammit I missed this ep, because are stupid state is having there football high school game thingy shown durning the turtles.

damn preps ruin anther good thing :x

DarkNinja 11-22-2003 09:40 AM

Mikey was outrageously funny the whole time, I was laughing the whole time. In the beginning the meditation was really cool, anyone know how to spell it so I can research it? I liked how they substituted all their weapons for simple toiletry objects, and spoons? Gladiator fights should be really good. :D

Splinter 11-22-2003 09:46 AM

Intresting episode. Mikey got to finally narrate again, he seems to get the short end of the stick when it comes to that. Unfortunatly he had to share the spotlight with Fugatoid. I like Mikey's foreshadowing, which will come back to bite him on the arse soon enough: "I'm really starting to miss the Shredder about now." Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. :D

MTN889 11-22-2003 09:55 AM

"SPOOOOOOOON!!!" - Raphael

jeff the cheff 11-22-2003 10:11 AM

I woke up too late to see this episode, its the only one I missed :( So sad.

If anyone has a copy on vhs PM me cause I will pay money for it.

lethrhd 11-22-2003 10:15 AM

Man these topic discussions seem to be getting slower and slower every space episode cant wait... three weeks until we can get rid of this pathetic space arc. I was in it the first episode or so but now its getting ridiculous. I know that this is how to comic did it but thats a comic audience "cough" I think they'll lose ratings if they keep it this outlandish...

Savanti Romero 11-22-2003 10:15 AM

The best episode yet! They just keep out doing the last episode.

TerranigmaFreak 11-22-2003 10:20 AM

Does anyone have a picture of Leonardo kissing the plungers or at least a picture of his face after he realize he kissed them? That would make a great signature.

HorseTechie 11-22-2003 10:23 AM

I thought this ep was just as good. Liked the different little twists of fate on their time as prisoner's.

And, I will admit... I never thought I would see the day where a Turtle gets sick in the cartoons! Hrmm... yes, one of my first fanfic ideas was to give Mikey the stomach flu, on Thanksgiving. Evil twisted insane idea... I know. :goofygri: But my kudos to 4Kids for doing that to Mikey, and actually making it funny! Wax on, wax off!

The different weapons they had to use was a riot too. Too bad Raph only got spoons.. cuase like a bunch of TMNT fans from a mailing list many years ago used to have this thing about using the plastic sporks as weapons. But Raph's battle cry made up for that. Spoooooon!

Of course, I refrian from wondeirng how universal plungers, spoons and brooms are. :P

Can wait to see how the next ep goes. Go green machine!

RskimB 11-22-2003 10:47 AM

This episode was really good, even better than last week's.
I loved Raph and Donny in this episode they were both awesome, especially Raph.

"Spoooooooon!"

I doubt it was the "Jocks" decision to air their game. It does suck that you will have to wait to see the episode.

Qi-Gong. :) At least, that's what he said.

First off, my heart was still pounding from this morning. I turned the TV (from the video game we were playing) in time for the message "There is a change in programming!" I'm like "WTF!?!" Ultimate Muscle was moved to 11:00 and they showed a bonus episode of Turtles. I just about ran to get my tape when it started. Turned out to be "Things Change", but that wasn't funny!

As for the episode, it was great, as always. I especially enjoyed the facial expressions of the Turtles. There were some great ones. The escape plan was brilliant, and the replacement weapons were great! "Spooooon!" LOL!

Bad point, I ran out of tape about two minutes from the end. But still, I can't wait for "The Games". I wonder if they're ever gonna get their weapons back.

Mars-Chan 11-22-2003 03:25 PM

I was wondering what happened to them....
"SPOOOOON!!!!!!!!!" :tlol:

I know! Me too! Other than fanfics, I've never seen any of the TMNT get sick before, and not just feeling queasy, I mean the full-blown-chunk-spewing sickness! And who else to do it to than to poor Mikey! Man, that poor guy always has bad things happening to him. I flinched when Leo and Don forced him to put that disgusting vile in his mouth. No escape from TWO of them! Gads!

Oh, I thought it was great when they fought with those things. Leo kissing the plungers was a Mikey act and I was glad to see another turtle did a goof other than him! This is similar to when Don kissed the mop in TMNT 2 only he didn't gag! He loved it!

Gaaah! Just had a flash of the eighties when you said that! Yeah, can't wait either!

J Legault 11-22-2003 05:35 PM

I'm back from watching Looney Tunes Back in Action.

for this episode I knew Fugitoid might narrate this episode. Even Mikey does some after Fugitoid. I like the part when the tricertons were surprise to see the turtles surving from the no air zone. (So thats how they mange to survive by using simple breathing lessons)

The part when they find out that Triceratons don't breath oxygen but some other type of cimals that aren't breatheable. That exsplains why the Triceratons wear those head helmets in the previous episodes.

I like the part when Raph called the one tricerton soilder a long horn freak Dinosaur. The part when Mikey ate the Floor Wax and barf on the salad bar. Don's science project on a Smoke Bomb. The part when they took over the beam cuffs and member tatoos.

Using Cleaning items for weapons. I love Raph using the Spoons like Sais.
The Triceraton gladitor Stadium remind me of the Termite Stadium in Star Wars Ep. 2. and I would agree with Mikey "I sure miss the Shredder".

another 5 out of 5 stars. This week will be going by fast because of thanksgiving.

gladitor turtles in part 4 of TMNT in Space.

Blades 11-22-2003 06:00 PM

Only 2 pages for this ep so far?? Huh..

Anyways, I thought this ep was great! Lotsa action, as always, and plenty of humour too, this time coming from all the guys!! Some interesting bits I liked were those funky tattoo/sticker things the turtles got when they first were brought to the prison, and they actually made the triceratons home planet have different atmosphere. In other 'toons, if the hero(s) get sent to another planet, it just HAPPENS to have oxygen. That was a pleasant nitpick point.

Big props to the writers for paying homage to the almighty blue superhero, The Tick!!! SPOOOOOOOOON!!! The battle with the cleaning equipment was hilarious, especially Leo w/ the plungers and Mikey w/ toilet brushes. You know you're a true ninja when...

The next episode should be good, with plenty of action. Let 'The Games'
begin!!

EDIT: BTW J Legault (sp?), how was Looney Tunes in Action? I'm considering seeing it...

DarkNinja 11-22-2003 06:37 PM

Ya' know what I just thought? A bunch of parents might complain about this episode when they find out their kids are spending way too much time in the bathroom, and open the door and find their kids playing with plungers or toilet brushes. And then they'll be taking spoons and playing with brooms. hey that rhymed. :D

J Legault 11-22-2003 06:47 PM

Did the Triceraton Republic in the Mirage Comic have different atmophere like in this episode?

They've been sick before in an ENTIRE episode of the old cartoon called The making of Metalhead.

Yup.

Savanti Romero 11-22-2003 07:29 PM

Did everyone get 2 episodes this morning? ( The Big House, Things Change) I don't know if I did or not because the only show worth watching on Fox Box is the Turtles, so I changed the channel right after it's over.

I did but since i have a DVD of Things change I didn't bother to watch much of the first episode. Atleast for once they have a time slot for a rerun of TMNT.

Shadow 11-22-2003 08:24 PM

my humble thoughts:

I didn't think this was the best episode ever. However, that's not to say I didn't find it entertaining, because I did. Their faces and battle cries were priceless, the action was good--although moments where the turtles are fighting shredder seem more energized to me though.

As far as the universalality of bathroom cleaning products: All brilliant things are universal, although I would have thought them to be larger, concidering that the Triceraton's butts are soooooo much larger than our own.

Good episode, worth watching. But I am ready to go back to NYC.
