Bwaa.. well, I'm not as energetic as Machias, but here's the thread to kick off tomorrow's ep... just in case no one else is up and about to start it tomorrow. :P


30.) Turtles in Space - Part 4: The Arena
Welcome to the Tri-Sports Arena, filled to capacity with cheering Triceraton crowds thirsty to watch grueling combat. Where gladiators go in but never come out. Our four heroes have been sentenced to become gladiators in ruthless competition that ends only in victory or death. Will our lads be trampled into the dirt of the arena floor never to rise again or will they push their Ninjitsu skills to a higher level facing their ultimate fight for survival?

Dunno about you... but that still reminds me of the movie, Gladiator. If not this part from Star Wars, Attack of the Clones.

Okay, show just finished in my zone

and here is what I saw/ponder/liked

great moral lession, about fighting for what is right, and not for the sake of fighting. Also, note the political message against dictators and power hungry leaders....

also, Mike said, "I was voted most likley to brighten the room up with his smile" That was funny, but did fans ever vote on that? Just wondering if the creators were taking the web-based fans into acount.

Also, Mike called Don, "Don A. Tello" Wasn't that the name he used in the old show, in "Donatello gets his degree?"

Just a great throw back if it was.....

also, the tricerition leader's VA is the same one who does Baxtor....i JUST noticed that now.

all in all great episode, good dynamic with raph and leo...and mikey--great comedy relief as always!

Bah couldn't hear half the episode because my mom couldn't keep her mouth shut the whole time, then my dad was an idiot as usual and, instead of telling just us that the weather channel was going off of our programing, he made us change to the channel then told us to flip back and forth and all kindsa stupid crap, then mom hit the GoBack button and claimed she didn't...so yeah...really irritable morning... Of course if that weren't enough, mom had to pick at the obvious as the episode was ending.

Mom: What are those things hanging out of thier mouths?
Me: It lets them breath oxygen because they don't have any on that planet....
Mom: You mean with all that they haven't lost thier oxygen tanks?
Me: it's attached to a little machine on thier belts.
Mom: Well if I was fighting them I'd just cut thier stupid oxygen pipes
Me: Well you know how it is...stories always have a simple solution, but if the story went with that solution, then there would be no story....
Mom: ...yeah...just like the soaps I guess...
Me: Bingo -.- (in other words stop picking at me when your shows aren't any better!)

That was Donna Tello, I think. He posed as a girl, or used Irma has his body double.... something like that.

Donna Tello (they thought he was supposed to be a female so he had to send Irma in his place)

no i think he used don A. tello but "they" who were giving him the degree thought it was donna....because i remember him saying something like, "that's not what i put on the lable!"

two words : Best Episode Ever! so what thats three. It was amazing, I was litterally cheering then it ended. Im counting down the hours til the next episode. This episode had everything. Can i have seconds?hahaha. I love it! 50 stars and ten thumbs up!

Hmmm... it was alright, pretty damn corny if you ask me. Those announcer guys got on my nerves.

The fight with those elite Triceratons probably should have been longer. It seemed like the TMNT were just beating up one monster or group of bad guys after another.

Good episode with elements from Star Wars (The shock sticks = lightsabres) and Gladiator (Traximous and his story) Haven't read the mirage comic so I can't comment if it was faithful to the issue, but based on the rest of the series, I'd say it was.

Good story too, about honour and fighting for what's right. Not to mention, PURPLE POO!!!!!!! :lol:

EDIT: In Donatello's Degree, he wrote Don A. Tello on the label, and the school mistook it for Donna Tello, so in order to get his degree, he had to send Irma since she was a woman.

One part that bugged me was when Raphael went to save Donatello, when you see him jumping with the red background behind him, he has his sais in his belt.. :|

I noticed that too, and beofre they got their weapons i thought i saw Don's bo staff.

awe yeah! :wink:

ESP! Well, I'm glad we got that Don A Tello matter straightened out now.

But you know, I was wondering why the Triceraton fighters don't just snag the breathing devices from the Turtles mouths when I was reading this in the comic way back too.

And yes, I also agree it had hints of famous gladiator battles of yore too. (and why does that statue falling down remind me of something more recent...?) I also have a vague recollection of Mike getting ahold of those Tricerton laser guns in the comic, and saying something about eating hot lead. Was that cut out for this show, or is that yet to come...?

All the same, it was a good ep. Not one of the BEST, but it was still pretty good. And Mikey is being fun with his cheers as usual. :roll:

great ep. and yeah, i noticed how raph had his sai when he was in the red background. also, just before they got their weopons back, don and raph already had theirs. you can see don's bo twice and the handle of raphs sai once. oh well

and this was so Gladiator :lol: i mean c'mon, Traximus 8)

Eh, my tape ran out because I forgot to rewind. Looks like I'm not the only one who missed it.

Loved this ep. Thought it was sweet when they saved Don and Raph or someone said that they always look after their own. And yeah I did notice Raph's sais and Don's Bo staff in the one scene. Especially in the aerial view.

Heh heh, I guess I wasn't the only one to notice the weapons goof.

Ah well, it was still an awesome episode. The action was fantastic. I can't wait for the big escape next week.

The Triceraton Empire SO reminds me of The Klingon Empire. The story behind the proud warrior race forgetting their honorable traditions under the leadership of a tyrant dictator. I swear I heard Michael Dorn there for a second. :lol:

that's exactly why i said,

This one has alot of Gladitor referance in it.

I kinda like Rez & Rozz, the Triceraton annocers. :lol: I don't know they remind me of the Double Headed Pod-Racing annocer from Phantom Mence. These guys would go in my favorite non-main charaters of the Show.

I like the part when they were expected to be the new dumies for the Gladitors and the avoided every move. "No Hands" :lol:

I like the parts when they get the Punishner all mad and he ends up in a pile of...uh...Purple Furtlelisar?

The Prime Leader was more like Ceaser in this episode.

Triamus is kinda like Brutus Maximus from Gladitor. Only maximus didn't had a scar on his Eye lid.

The Turtles get there weapons back. I like the part when Don takes control of the Tricerton Speeder and they manage to go on the bacolny and show no mercy to the Prime Leader.

another great episode. I can't wait to see the Invasion of the Human Fedret and the conclusion to return to earth.

The final part for the Space Arca. is just around the corner. :D

If the TMNT were knocking down Triceratons so easily, just think about what they SHOULD be able to do with the Foot. :o

no offence I can't wait till they get back to earth, I may not have read the comics like most of you but as a old time turtle series fan the space stuff bored me mostly reminding me of the old demention X shows from the old series. I hope this doesnt hurt the new series but I like to see the turtles in more realistic situations like in the 1st season. I know we got plenty of that coming with the new sagas only begining to open up. Mabie its my age but, All I can say is i'm not a big space fan :|

Their fighting skills have improved since Return to N.Y.

Fighting againt tough Triceratons are like fighting against Hun.

But the Foot Ninjas are now too easy to beat.

I had to tape it, because I had to go to my cabin with my family in the mountains. There was some good snowboarding. Any way, I just saw the episode and it was great. I didn't like the begining, but by the end I wished I had the Space part 5. Overall the gladiator scenes were great, and Mikey was funny, but not as much as usual. Nice to see Raph narrating. :)

Why isn't Heavy Metal on the poll? That's what this ep. and, ALL of these "Turtles in Space" eps. have really been reminding me of all along.

Although, I detected some serious roman-gladiators feel to this one (Never saw the movie you're all talking about, though.

Awesom ep, dudes! I watched it right after I was done work and it totally rocked!! I laughed when Fugitoid went "Boo Yah!"

BTW, did anyone notice how Don kept making wisecracks about that guard named Gruel? "Hey look, Gruel's serving gruel!"

I started to lagh when the TMNT did not get there food.

I also like the part when they used Gladitor Weapons that were simalar to their Ninja weapons. It was just like last week with the cleaning items as weapons.

yea i noticed that, it made me think of the nerdy guy that makes one liners and laughs at his own joke haha lol damn there i go again.

Great episode as usual. Reminded me of the Film,.

It would have been funny if they had the arena be like the one in ultimate muscle...anouncers and all haha. I really liked this episode, I liked when they went underground and everyone was so serious but they just made a lot of jokes.

so far the TMNT in Space is almost over. I'm looking forward to see their chance to return to earth. Final episode of an episode group is always known to be the best of them all.

I'm just glad I've never watched that show. I have seen a commercial with "Mr. Cheeks." Wow. :|

Yeah, I had TMNT on one morning and my dad walks by and saw that commercial and was like "What the Hell? So that'swhat a BUTTHEADlooks like!"

I'm not s'posed to be on the computer, but who cares, better late than never :D

I thought this was a pretty good episode, I loved the hands part as well as Leo' strategy against the monster. As always I can't wait until next week.
