X-Men movie (Marvel Studios)
Marvel Studios is taking pitches for "X-Men" this fall. So, like, now.
https://www.darkhorizons.com/marvel-...-pitches-soon/ |
MCU X-Men Predictions:
-Race swapped Charles Xavier. -Bishop and Storm pushed to the forefront, Storm is, of course the team leader. -Cyclops is an overbearing buffoon, jock that learns over time to be a "woke white guy" as approved by POC's in the story. -True Villains are all white males, woke symbolism approved -Any non-white villain is revealed to be "misunderstood" instead -Some clown fandom will find these predictions to be unreasonable, even against last two years of Marvel-pattern and will pitch a fit at these predictions -Same clown fandom will defend all of these predictions once they come true |
Man, there are so many ways they could just completely kill this movie right out of the gate. Hopefully Feige isn't stupid.

Not that I think they would make a good movie but having some sort of political message in it would be true to the original comics which were all about the civil rights movement, allegorically. |

On the other hand, with a new Iger's directive to distance Disney from "culture war", he might be less concerned with adding SJW spiels into a movie and just making it a good movie, like old good times. In general, as someone who didn't liked Fox's X-Men movie and found them dull and boring (except for First Class, Days of Future Past and Logan) I am not sure what they can do to make not boring for me. For one, not having Wolverine as a central character would be a good idea. Also, making Cyclops a competent leader, not a bland stand-in in the background. Making Storm having a decent amount of screen time and having an adult (sexy?) Rogue would help. If Storm leads X-Men - it would be good as well, just not make it Wolverine focused. It would be good, if their movie finally moved away from Xavier / Magneto rivalry and just tried to do something new. Having a new villain, who is not tied to Magneto or military would help immensely. Not necessarily Apocalypse - this guy can serve as a Thanos-like threat for a MCU as a whole later, but someone like Mr. Sinister (and leave his OG origin intact for a wackiness (not that they do it)) or a Shadow King (diversity, yay!). Magneto can come into the picture later. Also, please no time travel - this **** confuses the **** out of everyone. Save all the crazy shenanigans for later, if needed. |
My hope is, of course, an X-Men movie that learns from the Singerverse. Yes, Wolverine is a standout and maybe he gets some solo movies down the line but it's about the team and lines are firmly drawn. "Mutantphobia! Everyone is afraid of us!" Yes, sure. But let's leave Twatter to draw ties to this or that agenda later on, and not have it baked into the cake overtly. There is a way to do this.

What I am afraid of, is that SJW scum won't be satisfied unless it will be about [CURRENT YEAR] oppression, i.e. about them, since this is all they are caring about - attention and glory and power through it. |

I definitely hope Wolverine is focused on a little less and isn't the main character of the films. They struck gold with Hugh Jackman but I imagine whoever the next actor is won't have as much pull or popularity, so we probably won't see a Wolverine that dominates the films as much.
I expect the team to be Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine, Beast, Storm, Rogue and maybe Iceman or Gambit. At least for the first movie before they gradually add more new characters as expected. |

I was a bigger fan of his across the Byrne/Claremont run and then in X-Factor for sure. I've always liked Storm as a character - my observations are more that "of course they'll go with my bullet points above because of agenda" than they are about "character preference". I always thought Bishop was awesome too. But those "canon uses" of characters are just greater ease of access for woke $#!( on film, which we all know isn't actually about 'inclusion'. Bishop, Storm, etc - all about fun inclusion when original published. Bishop, Storm, etc in the hands of Marvel studios - all about agenda and woke messaging when put in film. |
I don’t suppose there’s any point in hoping that these new X-Men movies will be its own cinematic universe? The MCU is already collapsing under its own weight just like the comics have.

More than that, arguably, nowadays, they are the only force capable to revive interest in the MCU to pre final of the Phase 3. |

*sigh* Damn you, Bob Iger, for buying out 20th Century Fox. I don’t want to see a Disney Deadpool movie. |

They did that already with the Fox universe and that was ultimately a disaster. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. |

Sega should really dig up their cancelled X-Women 32X game. The time definitely seems right! :tlol:

|
So what the hell is Black Panther 3 even going to be about? Wakanda being insecure about their vibranium monopoly yet again?
|
I saw somewhere online that the speculation is the Rock for Apocalypse. shrugs.

Magneto might be Denzel in what would be an obvious reveal that they're going full into systemic racism in the United States and white racists and away from WWII and nazis.

I say go for it since Trump's going to go for throat with this crap too.

I don‘t care either way but if you want a modern adaptation in the present, you can‘t go with Jewish Auschwitz survivor Magneto anymore. Sure, you could do it like they tried in the 90s series and set his past in a fictional country but making it about the Civil Rights Movement, especially in these socially divided US, is much more relevant and also comic book accurate because - AGAIN - X-Men were originally about the Civil Rights movement.
I mean, sure, you anti-wokies won‘t like it but whatever. Black Magneto played by Denzel Washington sounds great. Let his parents be murdered by a lynch mob in Alabama in the 60s and you're good to go origin-wise. |

Just think. In another 50 years Magneto can be a guy from 2020 who wouldn’t wear a mask or put his pronouns in his email. |
I wouldn't have a problem with it on paper, either, except it's not going to be remotely apples to apples with what it was when Magneto's origin was WWII/the Holocaust and all of that. Because whatever Magneto's origin story is changed to now is going to inform his motives in the present day, as well as his whole coalition of mutants. By changing it to some kind of racial thing in the United States and then making it about Magneto looking for that and finding it all over the present... that's not going to go over very well at all, and it shouldn't.

I don’t know man, if anything it works even better. Have his powers first appear as he watches his parents getting lynched by the KKK or something, then as a young man he falls in with some militant black nationalist group.
I guess the problem is that (despite what the news/internet says) race relations in the US just got better through the 90’s into the 2000’s. |

I went to Target and Wegman’s today. Saw just about every ethnicity imaginable getting along just fine. All kinds of different people smiled at and interacted with my kid, and vice versa. Saw plenty of blended, interracial and LGBT families. No one cared. |

I don't think there's a chance of this happening with even one of them but it MIGHT had this gotten into full-on production a few years ago. |
|
Making a new set of X-men young teenagers makes sense, especially if they want them for multiple movies and have to keep them on. In fact they should cast as young as possible, like around 13-14 years old, because these kids will grow up fast.
|
Seeing articles today about Adam Driver as Magneto and Patrick Wilson as Xavier and not disliking those picks.

Speaking of Magneto, what are the odds of him still being a holocaust survivor? He was one in the FOX series but... I watched X-Men TAS recently to prepare for X-Men '97 and he really isn't confirmed to be a holocaust survivor in TAS and that was back in 1992, even X-Men '97 only goes so far as to imply he was part of a religious minority and indicate his first language is German. I know X-Men Evolution does say he is a holocaust survivor but then in Iron Man Armored Adventures it's only implied he was a test subject of Weapon X. I know in Ultimate he wasn't one and that's where the IMAA idea seemingly came from.
So... Are they gonna do it this time? I mean... If he was born in 1940, then he'd be 86 in 2026... And that's that's about the youngest he could be... |
So nothing at all about the X-Men movie at San Diego Comic Con? Just... Ghost Rider in 2028? lol... boy, Marvel is going to be in a world of hurt in between these Avengers movies.
