The cover for issue 13 of TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures reveals a crossover, It will feature the Mirage, 2003, 2012, Rise, and 87 TMNT together.

Yay, Turtles Forever 2 (I hope) in comic form.
|
That’s neat. I don’t know if I’ll read it but holy crap is IDW killing it with the license. Only thing we are missing now is Peter’s return in one way or another.
|
Guess this Ogglympics story arc's going to be WAY crazier than I expected! Looking forward to seeing how Erik Burnham captures the voices of the different iterations in a FW-based comic. Also happy that they chose Donnie to represent 2k3. He's probably my second-favorite from that show behind Leo.

holy ****ing ****
|
Hopefully they don't make FW Turtles incompetent again in crossover.

I suspect this is a result of the special sword cutting through reality. |
1987 Raph is definitely going to make a joke about how Turtles Forever wasn't canon since Rob Paulsen didn't voice him.

The art is cool. I like how 2k3 Don and Mirage Leo look. Also shows how grotesque Rise version is.

I hope April and Irma will interact with this other turtle teams, what do you guys think? They might be scared when they see Mirage Leo
|
2003 Raph complain about how stupid FW Turtle is, but that's because he didn't meet 2012 Mikey.
|
It took a decade and a half of ownership, but it’s nice to see the 2003 series finally get SOME recognition from Nick.

If you mean that no-one, like absolutely no-one, wanted to reference 2k3 throughout all the years Viacom / Nick owned franchise, outside of IDW, it might be the case, but I feel it is a bit unlikely. Of course, we can't say for sure, but it feels like Nick specifically ignored 2k3, since it was unlike FW version and thus didn't fit in their idea of TMNT should be. Of course, with success of TLR, they might change their stance, if it was indeed the case. But it would be easier for them to exploit Mirage'verse, instead of its "watered down" version. Even 2k3 is much more than that, regardless of some naysayers.. |

IDW deserves the credit here but I’m just clarifying that Nick does have a say over who does what with this license. I think Nick needs to be included when we discuss most facets of the TMNT as long as they own the property because approval actually is a huge part of the process and we know they like to get creatively involved based on interviews with IDW and Kevin. I was recently given the same response when I praised the IDW comics line as one of the positive aspects of Nick’s ownership over TMNT, but we really can’t severe their affiliation with the comics just because it’s a licensing deal. It’s all under their umbrella and they do get creatively involved. |
Although compared with Mirage, TLR is still much watered down. Except for the flashback scene where Raph massacred the foot soldiers, the rest is kinda meh and maybe even anticlimax. I would rather TLR focus more on Mikey's present timeline story and how he will kill his enemies for revenge.

Regarding the Last Ronin, Nickelodeon was nice enough to allow a studio to work on a video game adaption, But not in any other form of media like a movie or TV series.
Nickelodeon caters to kids, And the Last Ronin is geared to a mature audience, Which isn't there demographic. |
The Old Turtle Den mentioned my tweet about the crossover.

Do you guys think they will use that sword to bring this other turtles to TMNT 1987 universe? By the way TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures issue 11 might not be last time sword will cause trouble in this comic so who knows

Nick has definitely been shy about adult-aimed TMNT content but with The Last Ronin they let them off the leash. It seems they are still too shy for a movie adaptation right now but I think they will allow an animated version soon enough. It’s getting harder to deny the success. It’s still a top-selling book on Amazon and people are buying it at Target of all places. |
