This looks good, by the way so we will be getting TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures story in this, so I guess that means it might take place between issues 14 and 15 of this comic book, I am also excited for other stories we will be getting in TMNT 40th anniversary special, it will also be good to see 2003 version of Turtles again

CyberCubed 05-30-2024 04:07 PM

Very interested to see Lloyd Goldfine's 2k3 story and Ciro Nieli's 2012 story. It's so great that two of the main directors/writers from the two best TMNT cartoons get to tell another new story in their universes.

Wonder if they'll use this special to canonize mutated Hun as the 2k3 version of Slash like they originally intended to.

Would be good if that happens, but how many pages do you guys think each story will be?

BornAgain 05-31-2024 03:15 AM

This sounds great. Guess I’ll have to grab the Laird cover as he doesn’t seem to be involved with interiors but I’ll take what I can get. Fantastic team that they’ve pulled together for this book.

Chaotix12345 05-31-2024 10:36 AM

Another preview. Sounds like the Saturday Morning Adventures story is gonna be a short one, at only 4 pages.

AlZarkovski 05-31-2024 10:45 AM

All stories will be very short - there are 12 of them.

M.O.D.O.K. 06-01-2024 12:43 AM

I was expecting as much. Ciro Nieli mentioned the 2012 story would be 8 pages.

I wonder how long the 2003 and Rise stories will be.

So, will there be any resolution for the whole Donnie/April thing?

Asking for a friend.

nidza_maj2000 06-01-2024 02:30 AM

So I think plot for SMA story looks really good, I am also excited for other stories

clockstomper 06-01-2024 08:00 PM

Hopefully if people respond well to the 2K3 story, maybe they will do a Shredder War mini series.

Maybe the whole eight pages will be Donnie curing Mutagen Man back to Timothy. Get all the loose plot threads out of the way.

darthsmozers 06-14-2024 08:33 PM

How do I order this? Been out of the new comics game for a long time. Thank you.

Or have Renet show up in the Mad Max future and take them back to fix it. I could do with either one.

Looks like mine shipped the 24th. Wish there was tracking. If it really went out that day or the next (via eBay so not always immediate of course), possible it could show up today or tomorrow. :D

nidza_maj2000 07-01-2024 09:42 AM

This previews are really good, this looks like it will be really good comic collection and about SMA story, here:
Spoiler:
So I don't know why Raphael looks like to be bored fighting crime, while he is right that it takes a lot of time maybe they are still heroes

azrael 07-04-2024 10:23 PM

Cant wait for this!

jignat 07-05-2024 12:27 PM

The regular version out next week is about 80 pages.

The deluxe edition coming in November is about 100 pages and comes with an additional story and an art gallery.

Additional story? Any idea what version of the turtles that will be?

Was anyone able to get a physical copy at a comic book store today? I traveled to three, and called five more stores within driving distance of where I live. No one had it. Several stores said there was a shipment delay. The other stores had no idea there was a 40th anniversary comic. Major bummer. I guess I'll have to go to freaking eBay to get a physical copy.

*And for anyone who tells I should've pre-ordered: my local store always carries plenty of extra copies of everything. This has never happened before.

I managed to find a physical copy in Norwood, MA.

oldmanwinters 07-10-2024 10:33 PM

Forgot to add this to my lcs pull list, but I saw 4 copies on shelf with variant covers. I got the Bisley cover.

jestergoblin 07-11-2024 02:43 PM

Just read it.

Some great short stories, and it's always fun to revisit different TMNT worlds - though I am surprised at which iterations didn't show up.

Loved Waltz's piece.

neatoman 07-11-2024 02:53 PM

I noticed the Archie one is essentially a toned down remake of the Raphael Micro.

CyberCubed 07-11-2024 07:07 PM

Weirdly I liked the Rise of the TMNT story the most. Felt like a nice epilogue for that short-lived cartoon.

Casey Jones FINALLY makes his debut in Archie Adventures canon! It only took what...over 30 years!

The Mirage and Image stories were nice and short, not much to say about them. Tristan's Tales story was cool. I also liked the original cartoon story and the Nick 2012 story which will hopefully lead to a movie down the road. 2k3 one was fun too mostly for the art.

The IDW canon stories were nice, hopefully they are in the collections.

TheLabRat 07-11-2024 07:59 PM

For me, the best stories are: "Monsters" and "Farewell".

Topsu 07-11-2024 08:11 PM

Just reading this, but I really feel that "Mirage 1 story" isn't really Mirage. It's Eastman for sure, but Mikey isn't Mirage version. Not that there's much story as such, but even the picture isn't it.

CyberCubed 07-11-2024 09:55 PM

Can the Jim Lawson story fit into canon? I guess you can say Rat King was wandering the streets slowly going insane before going to the warehouse in the Tales issue. I forget if they were in Northampton or not in that issue.

Cowabung-Gal 07-11-2024 10:27 PM

As if Last Ronin Mikey wasn’t emo enough, now we have an Edgar Allen Poe poem associated with him.

Am I crazy or was “Monsters” a fairly thinly veiled orange-man-bad attempt?

No, it’s definitely TLR. Which is crazy that they didn’t advertise it as such considering how popular that series is.

Then again most people that love TLR probably just think “dur hur hur, Grimdark is so epic” and might be let down by an artsy little piece like this.

Probably won't be, but it's easy enough to work out where they fit in; Father's Day is around 108 to 112 and Teen Spirit is during 131/132.

Father’s Day is in June, does that help narrow down a specific issue for that one?

It's more going off of the dialogue. Alopex is running the soup kitchen and April is working for Baxter so that puts it pre- Punk Frogs (and 124 was a Christmas issue). Also Casey has shorter hair and hasn't derailed like we see him in the Tokka & Rahzar/ Battle of the Bands arc (113 - 118 ) so it fits best either just after Slithery (106-108 ) or during the following arc (109-112).
