Starting now, whenever someone is banned, it will be briefly mentioned here for transparency's sake.

Today "BornAgain" was banned because it turned out he was an alt-account of "AquaParade".

If a banned user returns with an alternate account, without doing any harm or violations, I think we should let it go.

The last two of these cases were originally banned for denying the holocaust and stealing another user‘s photograph, photoshopping it and using it as their avatar as a joke. We should not „let it go“.

On every forum I've ever been on, banned users coming back circumventing with a new account is considered against the rules and they get banned again. Especially if you get permabanned.

People get banned for a reason. This site has temporary bans that work as you describe, but it's for lesser offenses. I've agreed with almost every ban to date, despite them being done by a variety of different mods.

Most of the people who DO ban evade, are the very ones who ruined this poor forum years ago. I need not mention names, most of you know already. We should just let them mingle? Nah.

I agreed with most of what he said ideologically and personally, we've never had any problems. But wishing death on people, making jokes about deceased users and insulting people for their disabilities is too much.

No idea, but check out the language in many of his final posts.

Sumac had been terrorising other members with his super-hostile attitude for years. Then he got a final warning earlier this year and continued business as usual after a short period of relative civility.

I cleaned up the thread somewhat. It's really only meant to inform everyone about recent bans, not to gloat about them.

Robertfiduciary has been banned for continued personal attacks.

Yet another one that Im surprised took so long to get the boot.

Biggest surprise for me after longing in after a year. He’d been around so long.

I’m surprised it took as long as it did. I hope he’s in a better place mentally.

ResidentEvil7 has been banned for continued arguing and non-satirical use of a racial slur.

Deception has been banned for constant arguing and insulting members.

That was quick. There's also a chance that he was Sumac ban-evading.

I think it was him. Looks like he was smart enough to mask his IP address but couldn’t resist telling someone to kill themself lol. How hard is that?

I just can't wrap my head around that. Sumac had opinions, but that kind of interaction - super fixated and super obtuse and so on - was never really his thing.

That was definitely an alt account but... Sumac? I dunno.

Not to beat a dead horse but this might seal the deal.

Sumac has an account on Dtf.ru under Shadowsumac where he posts in Russian. After Deception was banned, he was online trying to get back in as you can see under 'who's online'.

At the exact same time, I opened Sumac's profile in Dtf.Ru and he was online there too.

That was obviously Sumac. I wish he'd have been stealthier about it... I do miss his posts.

I asked about this in the other thread but it's interesting how people can have a completely different perception of things. To me, being an aggressive jerk was basically all Sumac was about.

I think these evaluations are usually through the lens of who is upfront-amicable to you and who isn't. If you feel that someone is confrontational with you from the get-go then that's the end of that.

There are a couple of people here who started that way with me here years ago; and so there was no respect earned or lost in those cases. Just "instant Drome-$#!(bag" in my opinion - borderline "irredeemable".

Also, I could be misremembering his "aggression" I suppose. I have some apathetic selective memory about much of what goes on in these boards. Although I'd prefer to see them thrive.
