RIP Patrick Stewart
A worthy one for the forums.
Gutted by this. I didn't know he had Alzheimers. Technodrome Forum Death thread. |
A TMNT vet as well as a legend!

What a legend. Rest in peace, man!

He was great as Professor x

However the Alzheimer’s disease might explain ST: Picard. Elder abuse. Logan may have also been a “personal” role for him. |
Saw the news an hour ago and could barely accept it. Between Captain Picard, Prof. Charles Xavier and several other roles, I've been watching him my whole life. I really thought he'd live to 95+ like Shatner, crazy we lost him and Walter just 2 days apart.
His final role in Doomsday will be bittersweet now. |
"And I will always be here... old friend."

Another big legend and icon, in the Star Trek & Marvel franchises and many other places, including TMNT. His life was full and he kept going right up to the end. Rest well Sir Patrick Stewart.
|
Like somebody said before me, he was the perfect Professor X. This has been a wild year.
|
Who'd have ever thought he'd outlive Shatner? This isn't the way Generations is supposed to go.
|
I never watched American Dad but he voiced a character on that show for 195 episodes. I had no idea, that's his longest continuous role, oddly enough.

Well, this is quite a sad day.

Patrick Stewart almost feels like the loss of a historical figure or a real life savior despite playing fictional characters. It's almost as if he should go down in the history books. There's going to be very few legendary actors left after the next 10 years.
|
This might possibly be the best opening monologue of any video game ever, Stewart nailed it.
|
We lost a true legend in the world of entertainment. R.I.P. Patrick Stewart.

This one feels like a really big loss. I feel like I've known about him my whole life as I'm sure others do. I didn't watch Star Trek: The Next Generation when it first aired but I saw a few parts of some episodes. I was at least conscious of it and I knew Jean Luc Picard. I really started watching him all of the time after he was cast as Charles Xavier in X-Men. He did such a good job in all of those movies he was in. I even thought he should have gotten an Oscar nomination for Logan.
And just five years ago I got to actually watch all of the Star Trek series, Original through Voyager, as well as all of their movies. I remember him the most obviously for Star Trek and X-Men, but I also wanted to mention TMNT, his hilarious episode on Frasier, for being The Prince in Bambi II, and in this years' The Sheep Detectives. I will miss his presence, his voice, and his ease to both have fun and be funny. You will be missed. |

Hey, he did that Castlevania Lords of Shadow intro, too, didn't he?

At least in music and acting, sports are a different bag. |

Oh, I see. I thought you were referring to the idea that there won‘t be any legendary actors left in a few years.

Most celebrities nowadays are either politicians or personalities who have to speak politically to get noticed

Re-visited the live-action X-Men films in his memory, great stuff. He was one of the best to do it, & often really well cast. Always loved his whole vibe, even outside of acting, falling somewhere between cozy stoner & an aristocrat. You've gotta be charming to balance that. Glad he was able to leave a mark on TMNT, too.
