UPPER DECK RAISES SHELL NEW NINJA TURTLES TRADING CARD GAME

'Turtles' Unleashed in Stores Nationwide Beginning February 2004

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Two-Player Starter Set will contain two card decks (40 cards each), one rule book, and one game mat, and the "Turtles Unleashed" booster pack will contain a total of nine cards. The entire set will consist of 55 Common Cards (8:1) and 100 Foil cards (1:1). Foils include ten Super Rare cards (1:6) and ten Ultra Rare cards (1:12).

Kid Icarus 01-27-2004 06:03 PM

Old news.

I'm still not happy with Upper Deck making the game. And I REALLY dislike having commons, then rare, super rare, and ultra rare. Why not common, uncommon, rare, and holo?

I will give the game a chance though. Hopefully I'll have a job by the end of the month, so I'll plan on buying a box of this, along with a starter set.

this is what the pack of cards looks like for the new turtle game.

I've never played a TCG but I'm excited about this. I'm curious about the game play and I can't wait to start collecting these.

I'm sad you're starting out with an Upper Deck game. The rule book will confuse everyone, i'm sure. I normally avoid anything with the Upper Deck stamp on it like it's the plauge... but the TMNT over ride that ;).

The wrapper art does look nice though, I'll give them that. Maybe they'll pull it off...

Any news what size the cards are? Standard size or mini-yugioh-size?

Any company that isn't named Upper Deck should have done the game ;). Hell, DART Flip Cards pulled off a better TCG than Upper Deck...

It won't be all bad though.. that other game U.D. makes was made by Konami... not saying it's a good game, but it might sell enough to get the other expansions at least.

Does anyone know where to find more images of the cards? I'd like to see bigger versions with the text so I can start figuring out how to play.

cqb101 01-28-2004 05:23 PM

Old news, but thanks for the pic of the booster pack. I wish we could get an exact release date for these, and even a list of cards. I plan on buying atleast one box and the starter set when they first come out.

Thats a pic of the Donatello card... it's a rather large jpg though, so be warned.

I'm not likeing this whole flipping buisness...

Oh, and the boxes... 75 bucks for 24 packs of 9 cards. Bit pricey, considering most games have 36 packs of 11-15 cards for the same price.

nice picture may I bring it out to the open with another one that I have and thanks for the picture.

The turtle cards are going to be mini-yugioh-size again. This is all the information I have gotten from upperdeck. I hope they will give me a release date for the new turtle cards

Kid Icarus 01-29-2004 02:32 PM

-_-. Great. And I bet for tournaments they'll only allow their special mini sized sleves (something I'll just happen to over look if they even have tournaments for this game).

Oh well, those gold sleves I got for Yugioh can get some use now  .

Kid Icarus 01-29-2004 02:42 PM

Yup, no problem, but do you think you can stop posting the images in each post you make on here? Some people don't have fast internet, so it'll take them a long time to see them, and they've already been posted once.

J Legault 01-29-2004 03:06 PM

For I have a large collection of pokemon cards and I hardly play the card game, some reason cards are more fun collecting them, for me.

But a card game of TMNT sounds good.

The turtles are actully going to be printed on training cards.

turtleking 01-31-2004 10:40 PM

I'm hoping the character of a utrom is in the game.

Stone Ill 01-31-2004 11:01 PM

They probably will.

turtleking 02-01-2004 12:34 AM

does anyone else has a new character they look forward to in this game?

Kid Icarus 02-01-2004 01:39 PM

is the magical attack hamburger from yu-gi-oh? and if they do that to the turtle card game I will not be buying it. :-? :-? :-? :-? :goofygri: :dead:

Kid Icarus 02-01-2004 09:19 PM

Yes, it's from Yugioh.

I hope they don't make any stupid cards like that, but I have a feeling they will.

Maybe they'll have a 'retro' set with old toon characters and things? What do you guys think about that?

a retro sets sound so cool I wish they would do that and it would make the have a lot characters to play with.

Kid Icarus 02-01-2004 10:55 PM

Well, from what I can tell from the Donatello caro, it seems as if the characters will all be in your deck, and they act a bit like monsters in ygo, wich is bad, because that means there arn't any support cards (land, energy, ect).

For those of you that haven't play a TCG before, this is bad because there's one less element on the board to be able to controll. Magic woulden't be nearly as fun if there wasn't land, and Pokemon would be extremely boring with out energy, and the cards that controll both. It also makes it hard to make diffrent style of decks, because you'll basicly come across full offensive ones or full defenseive ones, none that can do both efficently (this is a problem in yugioh that Konami has yet to fix).

their is always deck buiding testss like always. did you get my pm please and thank you.

turtleking 02-02-2004 12:31 AM

who here plays TCG game are willing to play teenage mutant ninja turtles?

Kid Icarus 02-02-2004 12:48 PM

Like I've said, I'm going to give it a try, but I'm not expecting it to be a decent game. If I wasn't a fan of the TMNT, I pry woulden't even consider playing the game.

Who knows? Maybe it'll be a good game.

Have any more pictures surfaced? And any set release date for the cards? I'd like to get the starter set soon >_<.

no have not seen any more pictures and still waiting for a release date. All we know its sometime february.

turtleking 02-04-2004 02:01 AM

their will be more booster on their way out like the Swift as the Wind booster set coming out in May.

jestergoblin 02-04-2004 09:56 AM

I've played magic for almost 10 years now and I can tell already that this game isn't going to last long. It may make it to fad status, but that is all. Magic is the only CCG that has endured the passing of time.
