The New Ninja Turtles Cartoon
 

Based on what little we have so far, what do you think of the new Ninja Turtles cartoon? Personally, I'm not a big fan of the theme song. It's okay, but it sounds more "updated" for today's audience. However, I did like the fact that Shredder was mentioned in the song, and that there was a "Cowabunga!" in there.

As for the "new-look" turtles. I know some fans are really looking forward to this series, while other fans such as myself (fans who like the light-hearted goofiness of the original show) are having their apprehensions. I really hope it does what I want it will do and that is find a niche for itself with everyone. Hopefully, it will succeed where past efforts to rejuvenate the Ninja Turtles have failed.

Any thoughts or opinions?

I was hoping the theme song would be better but oh well, as for the new look I like it, its preety cool I have a feeling this is going to be good, like the 1987 series where they had THE perfect fix of action and humour. I'm sure some goofy antics will be kept for people like us, check out mikey's pic

I don't think that, for me, they'll ever be able to recreate the magic of the original cartoon series. When they tried to reinvent it in 1994, it didn't exactly make a splash. Maybe this newer series will attract a whole new legion of Ninja Turtle fans. That would be cool.

Im happy that the turtles will be a more darker series in the future...
And rhe first episode synopse indicates that the plots are pretty much taken from the mirage comics...

Yup, I hope they don't kill the shredder though, at least not early on like in the comic books, he is such a cool bad guy!!!

Now that they know how good enemy he really is, i think they wont get rid of him untill the end of the season...

Or maybe they'll kill him early in the series and then he will come back, like in the comics :lol:

He will probably come back... Im sure they will use the return to new york plot sometime... Maybe that is what ends the season... Shredders Funeral would be cool end for a season...

Yeah it would be...maybe they will base the series in the comics but the story will be kinda different...i dunno, anything can happen :P

hmmm... thats an intresting idea but is the trade off worth it? most people who used to watch TMNT are from the cartoon a lot don't even know the comic books exist and without Shredder they would feel lost and think that fox is jackin up the blood and gore to make the turtles cooler for nowaday kids and then the old viewers would loose intrest. I'm sure they will fnd the proper balence.

Slash was much more cool in archie... And yeah the stories in the new series looks a litlle diffrent but still based on comics.

Well i can live without slash, just as long as shredder gets a good part in the new series... :wink:

yeah and he fights with Raph in the last shredder comic, that was a cool issue :D

I hope they practice like in the comics, too :D
Their practices were cool in the first season and then they got boring :P

In the raphael comic mini series, raph gets angry and almost kills mike in practice :lol:
It'd be fun to see that kind of stuff in the new toon :P

yeah that would be cool!!! I doubt they will have AS intense fights like raph about to kill mikey at least between the good guys though. I always liked when Splinter would beat up all the turtles at once!!! :D

Yeah i like that too!like he did in the 3d pilot...or the tower of power ep...the list goes on :dead: he'll rock in the new toon too, go supersplinter! :P :goofygri:

He sure looks like a mix of those two...well he's got more fur and he's more brown...but he's the ultimate old master :D
