New Episode Discussion: "Reflections"

Reflections... *looks in a mirror, fixing her hair*

back to Casey's farmhouse again! at least theyre all in one piece this time. Some possible nods to the first movie? who can say... :D

Gotta love daydreaming. Youre told not to think about something, what do you do? YOU THINK ABOUT IT! Sheesh..
but yeah, the whole groups just kinda doing some thinking of their own. who thinks Splinter'll be glued to that orb like a Pats fan at the Superbowl? *yay pats! :D *

Hmm... connections of their origins to Shredder the killer jell-o reject? Maybe he got drunk one night, and--

gah, sorry, sorry... forgot the ratings almost... :goofygri:

Just think, you got a Whole week to think about it!!!

Machias Banshee 02-14-2004 08:17 AM

Heh, I'm gonna be nice and open this a lil early... :D

Buslady 02-14-2004 08:24 AM

sucks i gotta wait til sunday to see the ep! argh!

Nick Kell 02-14-2004 08:33 AM

PUPILS!!!

Oh no, a clip show.

HorseTechie 02-14-2004 08:54 AM

The ending was funny though. Like it was a nod to the orginal cartoon as well, who's origin story involved Shredder and Krang making the ooze, and all that.

And the first parts with the Turtles with masks off or turned was great! :thyper:

How did you see the ending before me? Where are you?

Leonardo_Warrior_Turtle 02-14-2004 09:01 AM

The pupils are there! That's cool. I guess the bandanas cover them up somehow. Anyway, nice clip show episode. April and Casey holding hands was cute. Gosh, they just need to do it already. :P Nice episode for those who have loved the Turtles vs. Shredder stories.

Machias Banshee 02-14-2004 09:04 AM

The beginning lesson was great! I loved Mike playing the gameboy off on the side, only to have Splinter drag him back in. I liked this, even as a clip show. Hearing the recounts wasnt too bad, but I likes some of the comments... Especially Raph's description of Splinter..

Raph: "A 90 pound weapon of mass destruction we'd like to call 'Dear Old Dad'"

What else... oh, during Don's talk of their origins..

Sp: "I can remember it as if it were today. You were all so cute.."

The bit at the end where they all got into a big wrastling match was really funny too, espescially with Splinter and April tqalking about teaching the turtles some manners...

Sp: "Even I cannot produce miracles..."
:D

jeff the cheff 02-14-2004 09:04 AM

This one was good for people who have missed a lot of episodes, it sums up the series pretty good. I'll have to show this tape to some of my friends to try to get them into this show.

This episode wasn't that great for me though, since I already saw most of it, but I thought the opening was awesome! What episode is next week?

MrPliggins 02-14-2004 09:04 AM

Kinda disappointing that it was a clip show, but I did like the "non-clip" parts. Although the commercial cliffhangers weren't really cliffhangers at all, because it's all been done before.
It was weird to see Raph's eyeball with a pupil when his mask was crooked, then when he straightened it, he had no pupils in his eyes.
It was cool to see Mike has a gameboy...er, gamedude.
Looks like the Turtles don't even think that Shredder is dead now...he'll be coming back.
All in all, probably my least favorite episode, just cuz I don't like clip shows very much..

Hannah 02-14-2004 09:08 AM

I'm glad that this was a clip show, It helped me catch up on the episodes I missed. I finally got to see Shred in the building... that was hillarious! I felt kinda sorry for him though, the look on his face... And the wrestling match at the end was great. Oh yeah, I was reminded of the movies when I saw this, I should've taped it. It would work well as an over view to the story so far.wq

Leonardo_Warrior_Turtle 02-14-2004 09:08 AM

What you talking about, Willis?

Join me Leonardo. *deep breathing sounds* I am your father.

hahaha. Funny Mikey quotes!

PizzaPower 02-14-2004 09:10 AM

the ep was ok, I thought it could have been better, but I love it!!! I hope there are more like it in the future.

Hannah 02-14-2004 09:12 AM

Oh yeah, that was so cool when thgey had their masks off! Even if it was momentarily, and most of it was covered up by the r est of their masks, that was cool how they had pupils without the masks on.

rayfillet101 02-14-2004 09:13 AM

worst episode ever. it reminded me of a crappy DVD featurete with the cast commentary. there was about 10 minutes of new footage and absolutly no point to the episode. Im mad!

That also reminded me of the second movie, where Splinter uses an aroow to free them from the net. Splinter is thier insurance, aka "Mutual of Omaha".

Taloniss 02-14-2004 09:21 AM

A clip show this early in the series? How lazy. The non-clip parts were good, especially the lesson amd the ending. Mikey's "Game Dude" was cool too, and an obvious reference to Game Boy.

The Turtles with pupils makes no sense though. Their bandanas are just cloth, so why would their eyes go white? At least with characters like Batman, he had lenses in their that housed his night vision/infared.

Quotes
-Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis?

-We're family.
That was off the charts on the sapiness meter

-Even I cannot work miracles

PizzaPower 02-14-2004 09:32 AM

Well, I liked it, I mean, the ep is getting us ready for some good stuff later, and besides i is good to see the TMNT not fight sometimes.

Splinter 02-14-2004 09:38 AM

I can see why they didn't show it last week. Since we just had the Shredder/Utrom reveal the week before. It would have been odd to have a 'Remember when' episode, of stuff that just happened. But sheesh, a glorified clip show! Oh well, next week looks good. :)

MrPliggins 02-14-2004 09:44 AM

Anyone see the preview for next week? Looks like Nano has a dinosaur head!

Taloniss 02-14-2004 09:45 AM

Nano next week? Sweet.

Sakirules 02-14-2004 10:14 AM

I liked how they were practicing. When Splinter made them all fall it got me crackin'
Donny says That leo made them feel bad? Not so! They made themselves look bad. They just jealous cuz they will never be like Leo.

my thoughts exactly.... just a glorified clip show...favourite moment:
"What you talkin' bout, Willis?"
... ok so it wasn't too bad of a clip show.... :D :D

Cascadia 02-14-2004 11:43 AM

the beginning and ending were very good....this episode was relatively similar to the "Blast in the Past" episode from the original series because it was clips.

Nturtle 02-14-2004 11:48 AM

"What you talkin' about Willis?" That was good.

Unfortunetly the rest of the episode was prettty damn lame. I hate clips shows :dead: The last line about famly, I've gotta agree was corny beyond belief. Well I could tell this one was going o be bad. Ah well, maybe Nano will be better than the Nano from last year....

PizzaPower 02-14-2004 11:59 AM

ya, because I hated that Nano ep. I hope it is WAY better, and the ep today was really good even though it could have gone without the clips.

CoolWhip 02-14-2004 12:15 PM

I'm not a huge fan of clip shows - but this one wasn't all bad. there was a lot of good humour in there... I liked it! :D

edit:

I was just watching ultimate muscle and saw a preview for next weeks ep with nano.... man it looks really cool! nano looks really scary! :D

PizzaPower 02-14-2004 12:54 PM

ya he does look scary!!

ThirdMarioBro 02-14-2004 01:02 PM

*breathing* Leonardo, I am your father!

  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I love those writers!

And the scary thing... Shredder is, by Don's theory. *heeee*

Cascadia 02-14-2004 01:37 PM

*snicker*

ZariusTwo 02-14-2004 01:52 PM

Clip Shows are always a pain in the butt...unless you do it from a certain P.O.V from another character or make fun of the clip show like the Powerpuff Girls did, you ain't getting good viewers.

PizzaPower 02-14-2004 01:53 PM

what do you mean? The TMNT cartoon is one of the most popular things out there right now.

J Legault 02-14-2004 02:02 PM

Well here's the episode I was expecting to see last week. I now think it's good that they had the Ultimate Ninja put last week instead of this week.

I didn't expected to be a clip show, I thought it was going to have the TMNT having ninghtmares of their greatest common fear. Oh well.

I thought it was good to see them taking a brake at good ol' Northhamptom, MA. I like the special "focus on your will" training. Ever since I saw Leonardo did that technique in Shredder strikes Back part 1, I thought the other turtles should do it as well.

2nd episode to see Raph with pupils, since the alternate ending of The King was the first time.

Mikey with his Gamedude, If you remenber in the Mikey flashback in "Tales of Leo" he asked Leo where his Gamedude was. That had to be the one he perferred in his flashback or not unless it was a GameDude Advance?

This was also Splinter's 3rd time doing Narrating.

First Time Seeing April wearing Short shorts, hiking boots, and a pink tang top.

I thought this Clip show episode was good for the TMNT to think over what they have just went though from the past several months. and the way they shown clips from all 4 Shredder Battles. And to think that the whole origin was all started by a little bit of evil.

Even I know how Don would feel to have a villian involving in your own life.

If the Red Utrom didn't exsist then the Utroms would never of landed on Earth.
If they never invented the exoskeleton then their would of been a Shredder Suit for the Red Utrom.
If Shredder never killed Hamoto Yoshi then Splinter would still be a pet rat.
If it wasn't for the Blindman then the TCRI truck wouldn't of swirl around and let one of the canisters out.
If it wasn't for the Ooze then the TMNT wouldn't of became 5 footed Turtles.

Yes that's a lot of Math to know.

It seens like we seen April & Casey getting together more often, but the boyfriend & girlfriend isn't there yet.

I would give this episode best clip show episode of the series.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars for good thoughts on what happened on the show so far.

I didn't see the preview for next week's episode that's going to be on Nano. I just hope it's going to be alittle better then the last time the TMNT encoutered with Nano.

Lanagirl 02-14-2004 02:48 PM

So Did you like the episode in general? Was Shredder involved?
And is there any information WHO Shredder is for sure?

[email protected] 02-14-2004 02:56 PM

I too was not expecting a clip, but I now understand what the synospis ment when it said the figure of shredder haunts their every memory, like showing clips from Shredder strikes 1 and 2, shredder strikes back 1 and 2, return to new york part 3 and secret origins part 3 and the shredder being a part of their origin. Now that don said how shredder was a part of their origin, it is now obivious on how shredder was a part of the turtles lives. The image they showed in the preview with the foot tech ninjas, mystic foots, elete foots, gangers and giant shredder were not in the ep, why why why not? I too thought that the turtles would have nightmares about shredder and anything they see would be an illusion of shredder and when someone is talking to them it would be in shredder's voice, why? clip shows are not uncommon though. I agree with the turtles quotes on how shredder can never stay dead. But I too wonder how shredder could have escaped the explosion in secret origins. I agree that shredder has caused april and splinter pain with killing yoshi and blowing the apartment. Shredder never said you have foiled my plans too many in secret origins.

[email protected] 02-14-2004 02:57 PM

I also laughed when michelangelo said I am your father.

Lanagirl 02-14-2004 03:00 PM

I am your father? Whom did he say so?
Like Darth Vader told Luke :-)
BTW Did anybody play Jedi Knight Jedi academy? :)
