New TMNT Character designs and Theme Song thoughts?
 

I was expecting something a little more hard edged maybe like the turtle designs from the original TMNT aniamted intro.

Here are the lyrics to the new theme and i might have mistaken a line or two with my transcription of it, the old theme had more interesting music than the new theme and the lyrics were more catchy.

For comparison between the new and the original theme.

I think the lyric are pretty much right... What i like in the new theme is the cool guitar riffs...

well I can't sayI liked the new theme song but I like the new look and feel of the show :D

And for that look and feel the theme sounds right...

The song really wasn't very good in my opinion...but i wanna see what the opening video will be :thyper:

Personally, I don't really like the song either. I totally would have prefered a re-done version of the original theme... make it darker, rock harder... yeah, that would have been good. :)

A remake of the original song...that's an excellent idea :evilgrin: i'm not sure if it would fit the cartoon very well tho...but i still havent watched it so i cant really say

My opinion: I love the new theme song. And I love the new look and feel of the turtles. Not to say I don't like the old cartoon, but I think this one fits my tastes better.

And the new look... For a mirage fan like myself it couldn't be better... At first I hoped the all wore red bandana but after seeing the pics... all i can say is: :thyper: "GOD I LOVE BEING A TURTLE!" :thyper:

:lol: they tried redoing the theme song for the dark season eps but it was awful :dead: the video maybe good though for the new one it shouldn't be too flashy though if it is to be like Mirage

I love the new theme song!! And you've gotta admit... The new theme is so much better than the theme during the Red Sky eps. :sick:

What preview?

There's a preview of the new Fox Box shows on tomorrow... today... SUNDAY! It should be Sunday at 7 pm on Fox, but I'd check your local listings, it's a program called "What's in the Fox Box" or something close to that.

The last line in the new theme was so anticlimactic. Oh well.....

yup todays a big day, the first time anything Ninja Turtles will be broadcasted to all tvs in the country antanne and cable in a long long time!!!! :D

personally, i hate the new theme song. It sucks. Soo horrible it is. The old one rocks!
anways, yeah a remix of the old song would rock. Did anyone here the toy commercials for the transformers robots in disguise, it was soooo awesome, everone was hoping it would be the intro to the cartoon, but it wasn't. That's just to say that it's possible that a remix of the old song could really kick ass!

I am not really a fan of this new theme song. But I am such a stickler for new things. I never like change at first, but then I learn to like it. I'm sure if I listen to the theme song again, it will slowly grow on me.

As for the look, I just can't say that I like it. I don't like the darker turtles, in all honesty. That's just not what works for me. I'm not saying they're better or worse than the light-hearted turtles; I'm just saying that it doesn't suit my tastes. :tpizza:

I'm downloading the theme right now, so I don't have an opinion on it yet. As for the cartoon design, I think the new turtles look quite studly. Not at all goofy. Even Mike who is acting a bit goofy still looks dangerous. I hope they've made Shredder even more studly as well. (Mmm... studly Shredder...) Maybe with a little luck Splinter will be a bit studly as well. I hope he looks good. (Crosses fingers for a Splinter that looks like a rat, not a dog.)

Now I've just listened to the song a couple times. I can't say whether I like it more than the old theme, but I do like it. And no, I don't think the song is studly.

Hmm... Maybe I need a new look so SC will think that I'm studly too. :razz:

I really like how the TMNT look on the Fox Box site. Of course, looks aren't everything. I'm still worried about the VAs and the storylines... I'm not worried about the new theme song, though. I like it, and I think it'll appeal to young kids (who are the target audience, not us "old timers"... *sigh*).

I don't really like the new theme. In fact I think it's pretty awful. That "It's a whole new shell game" line is terrible. The bg music is nice so I can deal with it like that, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original theme.

The character designs are terrific though. I can't wait to see more!

Dude, this is total dejavu... I just finished browsing through the UM forums when I decided to come back here and do one last look through the Technodrome. Heh... I already knew that you didn't like the theme song. ;) Ah well. At least we're getting a new show! I'm very thankful for that. :anime:

I think the original turtle design was the best. I terms of a theme song, Make a rockyer version of the original theme.

While i prefer the old toon's season 1 design of the turtles, i wouldn't want it in the new cartoon...i want to see a new tmnt cartoon, with new characters design...or else it wouldn't be that new...but i think i'd prefered the theme of the new toon to be a remix of the old theme, kind of like what they did with the transformers armada theme.

The new theme song sounds like a really bad Beastie Boys track.

First off, thanks SC, for giving me the perfect word to discribe the Turtle's new look. Studly, mmmm....

Also, not that I'm against remixing the old theme, I just think that an all new song is a good idea. After all, this is an all new series, and they're trying to take it in a different direction than the original series. No matter what, they aren't going to please everyone, no matter what they do to the song.

I never knew they had a track for the new toon yet? Where can I hear it?

I agree with Kali... They're making this an entirely new show, seperate from the original toon. From the looks of it, we're going to have a new TMNT universe to join all of the others. I can already see a flood of fanfics inspired by the new series... :embarass:

As for the cartoon theme, you can find it on the FOGU website. Cherubae posted the stuff she had up in her "FOGU Got Fox Box" thread in General TMNT Discussion.

I like the new theme song's music but I don't like the lyrics, it just doesn't sound right.

the new theme's lyrics are kinda cheesy...thats all i have to say...lol
