Which do you prefere? Techno Cosmic Reserch Insitute (TCRI) or Techno Global Reserch Insitute (TGRI). I prefere TCRI, but what ever you call it it's still a Utrom front.

Then what does it matter what we call it? And does this really warrant it's own thread? It's one letter, and it makes verry little difference to anything.

It's official, we've ran out of things to use in polls...

I'm used to TGRI, and I think it looks and sounds better.

I vote TCRI. Original for the comics and new cartoon.
Just Cosmic seems like a nicer touch than Global.

And cosmic sounds more widespread than global.

It was changed to Global because they weren't the utroms in the 2nd movie. And cosmic would make it sound that way.

I voted for TGRI.

Actually, there was one scene in the second film that was either deleted or never filmed. Dr. Perry having retrieved the last TGRI canister goes inside a locker and closes the door behind him. Inside, he opens up his shirt and hands the canister to a Utrom sitting in his stomach.

TCRI......It's the original.

I heard of that Utrom scene but I have my doubts about it. It just seems that the movie would be very differnt if Dr. Perry was an Utrom. Perhaps that was originally planned but thown out early on. They wanted to make the movie and the turtles story line easier to understand for the movies so the Utrom plot was removed. Well that is just how I feel about that anyway.

The children problably would have assumed incorrectly that the Utrom in Perry'r belly was Krang.

I believe that. When the Utroms first showed up in the new show topics at other sites about mini Krangs popped out everywhere.

I know, and if it was included it probably would've been TCRI.

I've heard it was change because there was a real life company called TCRI, or so I read.

Really, that's interesting. I wonder if it's true and maybe it just happens to be run by an alien race known as the Utroms. Just kidding :P

It does exist, I found it on the internet, in real life TCRI stands for Total Connections and Resources, Inc.

Oh, well I was just assuming. Oh well, that's interesting.

There are a number of TGRI Institutes/companies as well:

Toronto General Research Institute

Translational Genomics Research Institute

The Globe Risk Institute

Technically, TGRI is not a Utrom front. Since TGRI is only used in the 2nd movie and there is no mention of the Utroms at all in any of the movies, then TGRI is not a Utrom front.

This is such a dumb topic, but TCRI is better because Utroms are cool and Cosmic sounds better than Global.

They did have plans to make it a Utrom front, but the scene were Perry reveals himself as one was cut out.

In a story, the final cut is all that matters. Cut scenes, especially ones cut from scripts before filming, and even before the final script, are moot.

Hell, that didn't stop me from writing a fic about it, though.

Jarrah, that scene wasn't even in the final script. It was an idea from an earlier draft.
