I LOVE THE 90s
In 1988, the ninja turtles were big, but in 1990, they took the world by storm. The bbc2 website has some info on the turtles...http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/years/1990/toys3.shtml.
VH1 get their format from the bbc channel. So, it is likely they will be on VH1 I love the 90s. |
I love the 90s? Aren't they rushing things a bit? I mean it was just 4 years ago that the damn decade ended.
|
Yeah. They should wait at least another 3 or so years.
|
Weren't they already on I love the 80's... not that they don't deserve more screen time...
|
Didn't anyone else see the actual programme that had Raphael and Leonardo hosting it (I think it was I Love 1989/1990)? 'Twas cool an' all, but I was disappointed that they were simple CGI animations. When I first heard they'd be the hosts, I though it'd be animatronics like the movies, lol. Still, that said, they did have the original voices from the cartoon :)

The turtles had like a 30 sec bit in I love the 80s (or strikes back) 1988.

Oh cool I can't wait till I love the 90's! I hope TMNT gets on it again. :)
|
i wish they would make a real ending for the original series
|
thats sort of random aint it, i mean we were talking about 'we love the 90's' and you come out with that.

anyways, back on topic, They've got to be on, that's all that was good on TV, wasn't it? |
I love the 90's? All this corporate commercialism is not going to end well.

If our generation will be remembered for anything, it's love of the past.

I love the 80's had a few tid bits on TMNT but not nearly enough considering it was so huge. However it's popularity probably didn't really pick up until the 90's. Though 89 was a big year. 90's marked the first movie, and I believe the move over to CBS.
E!'s thing on the 90's didn't mention Turtles I believe. They mentioned Power Rangers in the first epsiode but not TMNT from what I saw. This appauled me to no end... |

what was wrong with '97??
In any way i agree that the late 80's early 90's was the best era EVER!!! |

I watched one that had TMNT on it. That Amazon(tall female) comic made a comment like "thank god that's over"(don't remember the exact words) about TMNT. I think her name is Judy Gold.

Welll... maybe they'd be on the 101 reasons the 90's ruled on E!
I hated the 90's past 95... 1991 was actually my favorite year of the decade...92 was good as well... Other than that.,.. well... Pokemon, Titanic, Leonardo DeCaprio (there's only one Leonardo for me... well two if you count the rennisannce artist) all that stuff... really bad decade the last bunch of years... of course, it could also been that I was in Jr. High and High school at the time... not realy fond memories. Seriously... the 80's kicked the 90's butt! |

*sigh* But I know I'll watch it, though... |
Yeah... I'm really liking 2000, just because I got the hell out of there. I did graduate, but I kept mumbling "I deserve a frikkin medal for this!"
yeah, 1991-1992 was an amazing time in my life. Ninja Turtles and Darkwing Duck (and Super Mario) were my absoulte life. I remember my 10th birthday party... that's one of the best times in my life, right up their with the Weird Al Yankovic concert I went to in 99, and the Caroll Spinney (they muppeteer who performs Oscar the Grouch) booksigning I went to last year! I bet if they were in an i Love the 90's compilation, they'd probably be in the very beginning, maybe up to 1993. I guess they'd show more movie related stuff than cartoons and merchandising. I really wish I had cable to have seen the CGI turtle interstitials (with Rob Paulsen and Cam Clarke! WOOOW!) short as they are, they must have been pretty cool! |
I hate these "I Love" Series.
For anyone living outside the UK that doesn't know, these are cruddy BBC produced style nostalgia programs where they invite smart-aleck Z list celebrities to comment on things they clearly know NOTHING about - hardly even have a passing interest - just something that they never understood or respected but feel the need to mouth off and poke fun to show how "cool" they are. It's always an opportunity for quick jibes from not so clever, patronising celebs. They only thing remotely good about them is the "memory jog" factor of simply mentioning names and stuff and showing some old footage - but the interviews with random punters is tragic and makes the show truely pathetic. |

Mid-1993 to early 1998 were the worst years of my life. If you want the story on that, I'll tell you in General Discussion or whatever it's called.
|
some things about the 1990s were great but others were not so great.

what's so bad about high school? Ok I agree Jr. High was pretty lame, but I really like high school (I'm a Junior right now). I mean you get to hang with your friends, and there's so much more freedom than before. I can't wait for college tho
