I saw a guy riding a Segway this morning. I can walk faster than what the guy was doing on that thing.

What's a segway got to do with Laird?

I agree with Maddox. Most of the time, yeah, but the first time I saw one of those abominations, I couldn't stop talking about how retarded it is.

Laird has a Segway, that's what it has to do with him.

In an issue of Vol. 4 comics, he devoted a large chunk of Turtle Tracks to talking about his Segway.

BTW I wasn't bashing Segway owners or fans, Mr. Shreddette thinks they're kinda cool, we had a bit of an argument about that way back when he saw it in the paper for the first time. :lol:

Admittedly, I'd probably never get a Segway, even if I had the means to. I don't find it particularly useful, and I kinda like walking places anyway. But it's a neat gadget, and the man really digs his purchase. Good for him!

If he self-publishes a comic series and wants to talk about his personal purchases for a page at the end, or post a picture or two of the thing in action? Hey, cool! As far as I'm concerned, it's awesome that he'll get that personal with his readers. Most comic creators won't put pictures of themselves in their series, or publish a personal rant and leave it open to discussion. I rather like that Pete does, to be honest. I dunno why, it just gives me a good feeling.

Maybe I'm just crazy like that. ;)

I have that comic and I went ahead and read the stuff about the Sedgeway. Sounds cool to me. Why do you guys care if he likes something he bought?

He WAS an artist. Now he's a writer. He's too busy to draw any comics.

Well I wasn't 100% sure if he was concern to be a writer or artist.

Since Mirage has a few other Artists for the comics.

Sometimes Writers can do art as well.

I don't think he lost his drawing abilities...at the most not completely...

He used to pencil and ink and stuff in old issues. Now he's concerned with just writing

He's still cool for a writer for the Vol. 4 Comics.

He does. He's one of my favorite TMNT artists.

And your point is (besides providing him with his next Turtle Tracks topic)? So the man enjoys his Segways (and enjoys talking about it). So what if some punk says it's not efficient? Laird still has every right to like it and talk about it in the book.

I'm sure there's other people out there who admire their own Car or Computer or even a Segway.

*chuckle* I believe the word you guys are looking for is 'pencilist' --- and, in any even, Laird penciled the cover of TMNT #1, Volume 4 and one page of a recent Tales of TMNT.

Well it's not very often writers are referred to as artists, Mr. Pedant. They're usually authors or auteurs.

The guy who wrote TNM was an artist I guess. You have to consider what qualifies as 'art' and that'd be long-winded
