Why was next mutation cancelled?
 

Why? Wasn't it popular enough? :( And does anyone know if its coming out on dvd?

It is in Europe I believe, and I think it was cancelled due to lack of interest from the network. If I remember right, the ratings were ok.

The network thought it was too expensive.

At least, that's the story we were told at the time. There are some.... conspiracy theries, of a sort.

I do not know why it was cancelled, but tvtome said a second season was supposed to come and it was probably cancelled because it was getting higher ratings than power rangers. That is not true. The next mutation show was bad and had bad acting and the worst shredder I have seen.

I still partially blame the Power Rangers for the death of the Turtles, but now that thet're back....ah hell, who am I kidding, I still hate the Power Rangers.

I do, and so do many others on these forums. and if I was you I'd be very careful when saying things like that, because statements like that easily turn into flamewars. And, believe me, we had enough of them. so please stop that. The Power Rangers had/have a show, the TMNT have/had a show, just leave it that way...

I used to like Power Rangers, but it got so boring after awhile. I've always been fond of VR Troopers and I would love to start getting into them again!

The Next Mutation was cancelled because Fox didn't own the material, Mirage did. At the time, Fox only wanted to put out stuff they had complete ownership of.

Then along came FoxBox. :lol:

Well, that was for CBS and the old toon. FOX and Next Mutation was showed in the afternoon. It was canned because Mirage owned the turtles, and Sabin wasn't making the money...Mirage was.
Kevin has stated in an interview that FOX had never even talked about a second season. Kevin wanted to include April and Casey in the second season, but it never came to be.
