questions for michelangelo's birthday
I have some questions to ask. How could mikey have a birthday if when he was a pet shop turtle who grew into a mutant by mutegen. How could he be like 15? I did see the ep but it has been a long time since I last saw it. I reember shredder strapping him to the flushoatmic. What was the flushomatic going to do to him, mutate him back to a turtle. BEcause he tried to get 3 turtles together, so why did he pick that. WHy coulnd't he have used the mutegen from teh flushomatic on the others. I barley remember that they got the mutegen from the lava and it turned the other 3 into balloons. How come it turned the turtles into balloons if it turned rock soildres into stone????? I forogt where the commercial break was with the balloon thing, but did the commercial break happen after shredder sprayed the turtles with the anti mutegen and was the commerical break over when they where shown to be ballons. I want to know if that was where the 2nd commercial break was because IT WOULD HAVE CREATED TONS OF SUSPSENSE BECAUSE THE MUTEGEN WAS TO TURN THEM INTO PET SHOP TURTLES AND DURING THE BREAK THEY WOULD WONDER WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN SINCE THEY WILL BE PET SHOP TURTLES and it looked like that is what they would become. SORRY THAT I AM NOT MAKING SENSE WITH THE QUESTIONS BUT THERE ARE THINGS THAT DID NOT MAKE SENSE AND I HAVE NOT SEEn THIS EP for many many years.

Dude. It was a cartoon. And not a very serious one, at that.
Don't think too much into it. |
Wow, it's been awhile for me too, but since I had this episode recorded on VHS, I watched it many times when I was younger and still remember a little bit of it.
I believe I remember Krang being surprised by the results of the anti-mutagen spray as well. I don't remember if an explanation was ever given (or if it was necessary to go that deeply into it). Because Michelangelo had run away from home (because he thought no one had remembered his birthday), he was easier for Shredder to find - I don't think the anti-mutagen he used on Mikey was much different from the one Shredder used on his brothers. Ah! Now I'm remembering as I type this - the anti-mutagen Krang threw on the Rock Soldiers worked because they were in a group of three. So Shredder sprayed only THREE of the Turtles with the anti-mutagen and it backfired. Ah ha. The commercial break happened AFTER Shredder sprayed Leo, Don, and Raph with the anti-mutagen and they balloon-i-nated. That much I do remember. Hope that craziness of mine helped some. :goof: |

I always figured the turtles used the day of their mutation as the basis for their birthday, simply because it would mark the date they became humanoid.

the mutagen worked when several people were together. they had to have all 4 tmnt close together for it to work, but it backfired since there were only 3 of them.
the mutagen shredder was gonna use on mikey in the flushomatic is more like some super strong acid, so mikey was gonna be a pile of melted goo if that stuff touched him. i remember mikey was saved by the commercial break. no literally. i mean before the break the ooze was like half an inch away from his face. after the commercial break the stuff was barely starting to come out, giving mikey more than enough time to break free and escape. |
Perhaps they based their birthdays on the birthdays of the Renaissance artists they were named for.

The anti-mutagen probably affected them differently because they're different kinds of mutations. The mutagen that mutated the turtles only effected living things and the rock soldiers started as rocks and went under a mutation that gave them life. Therefore, the anti-mutagen had a different affect on them.

C'mon, guys, the writers didn't think too deeply into this kinda stuff --- one of the alien scientists from Krang's race had a moustache, fer cryin' out loud!! |
