Question about Raph in Mirage series
 

ok i only have a few random mirage comics and havent read any other mirage ones. and lately ive heard ppl talk about raph mutateing into some kinda beast and going crazy so i was just wondering is some1 could give me the heads up w/ whats going on w/ him? cuz i have no idea whats going on in the series

He was out drinking and decided to take the long way home (big mistake). Then he was attacked by these guys pretending to be vampires. I believe they're part of the Xihad, a group which hates all aliens, and he was injected with a virus (via the vampire teeth) and this in turn reacted with the dormant mutagen in his body. So now he's a raging beast thing (which I think is cool, like in the Spiderman cartoon I watched as a kid where Spiderman mutated and became more spider-like and all evil).

Beast Raph took out two important good guys and is apparently about to duke it out with Leatherhead.

FUN FACTS!
The last time Raph stepped up a few shoe sizes was in the "Munden's Bar" short (Grimjack #22)

so is he perminatly stuck as the beast or does he transform randomly? is the rest of the group trying to find a cure at all?

We're not sure he did actually, unless by 'took out' you mean, beat up. Although that Raptarr guy is strange...

It seems most likely they're dead. Raptarr was shot in the chest with a powerful blaster, and Fugitoid was beheaded. Of course, I suppose he could be repaired. I wonder, if Raph becomes normal again, how will he react when he finds out what he's done?

MikesPizzaShack: The rest of the guys don't know he's transformed. They haven't seen each other for a while. Zippy lad is probably working on it, and maybe a few Utroms as well. The Professer Kurtzburg memorial hospital will be put through its paces!

I guess Raptarr might be dead...but I think Fugitoid is okay (see the other thread in this section)

i have no doubt both will turn up again. raptarr wasn't intoduced early in this series just to die a few issues later. fugitoid - well, no spoilers but yeah
