I'm the best brother... or at least I think I am... ;P
Today I got paid $200 for working wizard world. That's a lot of money, and I can think of a jillion ways to spend it, but I picked one. I decided to get my brother the classic nes game boy advance for his birthday in 2 weeks. That's a hundered bucks, I must be like the best brother right? Well... I guess I kind of call him fat (he's a little overweight y'know how it is) .... everday... :dead: and beat him up a lot (i'm 17 he's 10, soon to be 11, it's almost like God is asking me to beat him up). So ok this at least makes me a little bit closer to being a cool brother cuz that **** costs $100, or at least it would be if I could friggin find it. I stop by like a wal-mart a k-mart another wal-mart (where I picked up the conan o'brien dvd, score!) and couldn't find it. I had to test my luck with the crappy over priced game stop (where I ended up buying it). That thing came out not 2 months ago and already I can't find it at regular retail. Anyway, I sort of just wanted to rant, but to keep this on topic, at every store I stopped at I looked for the tmnt episodes for the gameboy. Not one store had them (well I didn't check gamestop). The only place I saw it was at gamestop where there was one copy that my brother ended up getting. That's just crazy go nuts. To make this more interactive, anyone else have a tale of looking for something they couldn't find anywhere? TMNT related or not.

I do it all the time to the woman I love.
And stop beating your brother up and calling him fat. There's a name for people who do that. And it's not too pretty, either. You're not helping anything doing that stupid garbage to him. It may bite you in the ass in the long run, $100 gift or not. Just some friendly advice. |
You do realise the Nintendo DS, the next generation of portable gaming from Nintendo, is coming out before the end of the year? Your $100 gift is going to be antiquated in a matter of months. ... Not that that stopped me from purchasing the NES SP. I couldn't resist the 80'sness of it. :ohwell:
On a doubly more on-topic note: Yes, I do have a sort of tale of having trouble finding a product. TMNT figures, to be precise. I know, I know, "go to TRU and Target!" Trouble is, I live in south-eastern Oklahoma. A poor region of a relatively poor state. I'm lucky enough that my town has a Walmart Supercenter (a little over a mile from my house, even), but it's selection of TMNT figures leaves alot to be desired. I was suprised yesterday to, for the first time in many months, see something other than the mutating figures on their shelves (specifically they had a few Ninja Actions, one normal Don, Splinter, and Hun). The closest TRU or Target are both 60 miles away... :| |
the DS isn't replacing the GBA, Nintendo plans on having them exist at the same time.
|
Yes, yes, yes, so they say. But the DS is back-compatible with GBA/GBC/GB games, and thus effectively replace the GBA regardless of Nintendo's intentions. Certainly, they'll still make GBA games for a while. They also still made GB games for a while when GBC came out and GBC games for a while when GBA came out. Just like Sony still made new PS1 games long after the PS2 was released. It would be naive to say the GBC didn't replace the GB, the GBA didn't replace the GBC, and the PS2 didn't replace the original playstation.

Circuit City had some sort of underground promotion where they sold certain video games for $5 a piece (there was a big long list of them) and my boyfriend and I once spent the entire day looking for them - we went to five different Circuit Cities and came home with only one game that we wanted from the entire list. It was frustrating but kind of fun at the same time. Like a regional treasure hunt.
My boyfriend also insists that I should pick up the DS when it first comes out ('cause that's what he'd do) but I've gotten to an age where I'm willing to wait until the price falls to, like, $150. Because more likely than not I'm the one who's going to buy it, not my parents (and certainly not my sisters who, despite all I've done for them, would never splurge on a gift so extravagant for me). I got my PS2 the year after it was released, mostly because of the production problems they'd had their initial year, and I bought my Gamecube almost a year ago. So yeah, I'm in no rush. If people like it that much, I may think about it, but I'm never in a hurry to dump my money on something I might like. |
cool.

But it's fun. It's one of those things where it doesn't matter if I say it but if anyone else says it then he'll care. Like he knows I'm just trying to piss him off, and he has his own things to say to me. Thanks for caring though. |

DS is only going to be able to play GBA games, **GB and GB Color wont play on it**.... I am getting a DS btw its a very innovative little device and I am gonna have fun playing multi with my bro....
FYI The reason it wont play GB games is because there is a separate processor for GBA and GB/GBC games and the DS will only have the processor for the GBA and the DS, for the regular DS games. Thats simplest way for me to describe it... a couple sources have got it wrong, but Nintendo said at E3 "it will play all your favorite GBA games." ds.ign.com is a good website for DS info and any other video game related stuff. |
