Saddest, most disappointing story ever (TMNT related)

Ok, imagine to my friend and I's surprise and joy when we see an eBay auction for all episodes of the old toon and Next Mutation on VHS going for $71. I have the means to put VHS onto DVD, so we were going to split the cost and I would make 2 DVD copies of all the tapes, one for each of us.

So me and Paul, my friend, got all worked up and excited, imagine owning all the old toon episodes in one go, not to mention Next Mutation aswell. I waited hours today for the auction's end (not literally watching the screen, I just mean waiting around the house, it ended about 15 minues ago by the way), biding my time till it came to bid. I admit it, I wait till the last second before bidding, so sue me. Now this is nail biting stuff (not really, but it sounds dramatic), our hopes are held up so high I just gotta win this set. We had planned to go as high as about $120, just in case. So, 30 seconds left I refresh the page for the last time to make sure the bid hasn't gone up. I'm watching the screen... all I see is a white page... and then...

...my internet disconnects...

...I was in shock. It takes dial up about 30 seconds to re-connect. I sit there hoping, praying that I'll catch the auction at it's very end... and I don't. The whole set goes for $71. I coulda had it for $72, $36 each. My friend is really disappointed, and this is not the first time my internet's disconnected at an auction's end. This sucks. Anyone wanna loan me some TMNT VHS

it's happened to me, I know you feel man. But think of it this way, no vhs set on ebay is ever good quality.

I bid at the last second on eBay also. Don't feel bad, I think it keeps the price from getting unnecessarily high. I wish everybody would do it. Sorry about your disconnect, though. That would have sucked.

hammersnipe.com bids fo you in last 20 seconds. If you use pay service at last 3 seconds.

Well this story had a happy ending :D I emailed the seller about another copy and he put a new lot up on eBay. I won it on my birthday (back in September) for $90 and the episodes are great!

I think I know the auction....might be the same one I put up a bid or two....

it'd have been nice...I think...to be able to pass judgement on TNM...I know it sucks but I havent seen all of it

Why not just wait for the DVD. a NM DVD is already comming out and Im posotive the old series will get on DVD sooner or later. Espcially if the ew show gets more popular. Lions Gate can release the rest of the series and make bank because younger kids will buy it thinking its something new and us old school fans will buy it enjoying all the old episodes once again!
Kinda ticks me off they mever re-run the old show....like on Cartoon Network or something
