To Buy, or not to Buy...

So, I'm looking at the DS, and I can afford it, but my main attraction to it is Mario 64 and a bigger backlit system than GBA SP which hurts my hands cause it's so small. Do these reasons merit purchasing it?

Kid Icarus 12-30-2004 12:13 PM

Get it. It's replaced my SP already.

Also, if you're looking for a game that exploits the systems features, get Feel the Magic. I love Mario 64 DS, but Feel the Magic offers a totally new experiance.

Barkworm 12-30-2004 03:20 PM

Get it. There are not that many outstanding games for it now but there will be some awesome stuff released for it. Just imagine the DS Zelda...

ThirdMarioBro 12-30-2004 06:38 PM

*drools over the thought of Mario Kart with Wi-Fi*......

Oh baby...

=GRiM= 12-31-2004 04:56 AM

Go for it. I had mine preordered and picked it up the day it hit EB. I still don't have any games though, but I'm waiting for something good to come out. (Animal Crossing..... uughhhgaghahghhaa........)

Zachatello00 12-31-2004 07:59 AM

Thanks everyone. IJ'm gonna go to Gamestop today. Have fun!

Dr. Doom 12-31-2004 04:55 PM

Well I would've told you to wait until more games you wanna play come out until you get it, but it looks as tho the nerd brigade got to you before I could shed some logic on the subject.

Kid Icarus 12-31-2004 06:19 PM

Keep inmind though, bigger useser bases attract more games ;).

Each DS sold is like another drop of water spilled on Sonys forehead.

How approiate that they're manufactured in China.

Would you believe that Gamestop was sold out? Guess I'll try again later...

Yes I would. It's totally sold out over here now too. I was in an EB earlier in the week and there was a copy of Tigers Woods PGA, Feel The Magic, and The Urbz, everything else DS related was totally gone.

I'd wait for a few good games before buying it, the price might drop (not likely, but ya know).

Kid Icarus 01-01-2005 07:14 PM

The price won't be dropping for a good long while. You drop the price to spike sales, you don't drop it when stores can't keep them in stock.

I could see a slight price drop when the PSP comes out (20 bucks or so, or the inclusion of the media player) just to really kick it in the face, but that's not likely to happen.

Dr. Doom 01-01-2005 07:46 PM

I'm kinda waiting for more colors too.

Kid Icarus 01-01-2005 07:53 PM

What color would you want? I want a Spice Orange one. :-g

JameO 01-01-2005 07:55 PM

Talk about a waste of space *points to Doom's sig*. Think you could make it a bit smaller? As for the DS, yeah it's pretty much gone here as Peanut said. I am waiting for Rayman DS and Animal Crossing but Super Mario 64 is awesome I will be playing this for a long time and then hopefully a good game will come out.

I figure they'll announce online plans the day before PSP launches to sway people who were undecided, just to fu*k Sony's first day sales, then when PSP sales go up significantly, they'll do a price drop to $129.95 and add a new pack in game, just to kick them in the nuts.....and if it presists.....they'll just unleash a MMORPG Pokemon, the equivenent of an A-Bomb on their office building.

And JameO, Rayman dosen't come out until Janurary.

Kid Icarus 01-01-2005 08:43 PM

Or, even better TMB, drop the price to $129.99, announce the online plans, and package in the Pokemon MMORPG game a week before the PSP comes out ;).

If the only problem with it is that, then no. However, if it's like...slowing sh*t down for everyone, then yes.
