Traximus ASPLODE!
Does anyone else absolutely hate this feature? It's such a good looking figure, but you can't play with it even if it is tightened up. Am I the only one who hates this?
|
I actually don't hate it, but I wouldn't want it for a figure I actuallt wanted.
|
I wish that there was one more notch to tighten him. I also think he's too small.
He should be the same size as Mozar! |
yeah...the articulation is pretty good, aside from the looseness of the string...:( like it...don't love it..
|
May I ask why does he explode? He doesnt in the show....useless features
|
it's him crumbling in defeat....i've used it, only just cause i can....i have him get electrcuted by the sword of Tengu or Electro....
|
Makes him sound like a statue or sorts. Oh well I guess Ill buy it and decide from there
|
Well you know my feelings on it. It's an alright feature for another figure. Not Traximus. If there is one character that would not go down by one hit and be limp it would be him. But I think it may have been a nice touch for a Foot soldier variant or even a Purple Dragon. Someone that actually gets defeated badly. I guess they are thinking cause Raph beat him and all, but come on, it was a close fight.
I also agree he is too short, but I think it's mainly the legs. I don't understand why he would have such small legs when his Warrior brethren are lanky. anyone try customizing him yet? On another note, I really like the way the Drako figure looks. with the armor especially I thought I would hate it, but I really like it altogether. And does anyone else think Ultimate Ninja looks like an evil elf? What's with the all green eyes? |
I absolultely hate the feature.
Before buying the figure, I thought it would be a neat gimmick (like one of the old-fashioned push puppets), but no. Definitely no. You're not able to get the strings tight enough to use the figure in any decent way. Even when he's tightened up all the way, you can still take him by the wheel in his back and flop him around like Pinnochio. I don't have any problem with their simulation of defeat (they all got defeated and disappeared in the Nexus, no matter how many hits it took), but the execution was very poor. I wouldn't have minded seeing something similar to the Crash Dummies...REALLY let them explode! |

I agree with you guys. There are some figures where this feature wold be good. Nano, perhaps or the foot gunner (mech) ninjas. But Traximus? Traximus?? Do any of the other Battle Nexus figures do this, because this has seriously kept me from buying any others. Did anyone ever get the Sabertooth figure from the Xmen movie? He came with a security guard that he would "maul" that had the exact same feature. I could never get that guy tight enough. Usually, I"m a BIG time playmates defender, as people go crazy saying all their figures suck because they aren't Marvel Legends, but with this one, I"m really suprised that playmates released it without at least tightening it up so that it could stand properly. I think the figure, lookwise is great, but on all other fronts, bad... |
I was under the impression that all of the Nexus figures would include this feature, but the red guy (Drako?) doesn't, and the Ultimate Ninja doesn't. And it doesn't look like Butterfly Swords will. So, they seem to only be sticking it on the front-line characters. I smell a collapisable Gen. :(

I usually defend Playmates too, but they dropped the ball here. It's a terrible feature, one of the only times I can honestly say an action feature completely ruined a figure.
I can get him to stand, but that's about it. They gave him some pretty good articulation, for this line at least, but then went and ruined it by making the strings so loose that all the articulation is pointless. At least only Traximus and Gen have this feature, that they've shown so far at least. I can only hope they don't use this on any non-Battle Nexus figures. |

Feudal Japan Shredder will also have the same lame feature. :(
