The Making of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles': Behind the Shells

It sounds interesting, have any of you guys seen this tape?
What's on it?

I think this should have been on the dvd for the movie!

Lioness-Goddess 03-06-2005 03:01 PM

Most definitely! I wish I could see it. Maybe Blockbuster has it. Or Netflix. Or someone.

It's an ok video. the first 15 minutes yaps about the hype and shows alot of little kids bellowing cowabunga...the narrator is pretty lame too.

The last half of it is great, lots of behind the scenes stuff. They chat with a few of the actors, mostly focuses on pt.2. They have Mikey's muppeteer operate the face, it's really cool. The controls are amazing.

X-Entertainment has a hysterical review of this. I really want to see it, I might just splash out on buying it off eBay one of these days.

I picked this up off of Amazon a few months ago for about a dollar US. I remember seeing it when I was young, but didn't remember much. It's only a 30 minute tape, but it's really interesting to see the tech and the stuff the actors had to go through for this movie. If you can find it, pick it up...

I picked this up back when it came out for $5.00 at our local Wal-Mart (BEFORE it was "upgraded" to a Supercenter. As much as I love it, I want to find the "Coming out of their Shell" concert-show tape that it was a "behind the scenes" tape of. And I will, someday. They had IT at Wal-Mart for $5.00, too, but I never got around to getting it, and when I finally got the money for it, it was gone. But I keep looking.

Peace.

I would like to see this video.

cowabunga14 03-19-2005 01:21 PM

Maybe I'll read that review on X-Entertainment some time. By the look of the screen caps the article looks like its wothy of readin'. I'll check it out and try to get the video.

azure turtle 03-19-2005 05:06 PM

Those screen caps are from the mockumentary of the COOTS tour. I don't have that video or the COOTS video just yet... Maybe sometime in the future I'll get them off ebay. They look interesting, and I'll admit to liking the music.

I think Mandi was talking about the small "behind the scenes" video released regarding the first two movies, though they filmed most of the stuff during Secret of the Ooze. I really liked this inside look, especially when we get to meet some of the puppeteers and the people inside the costumes. My only gripe was the short length... I think some of the things could've been covered in more depth (how the costumes were made, art designs, etc.) but all in all, it's fun to watch. I just wish New Line would've included this as a special feature in their re-release of the original TMNT movie on DVD.
