Your Future...

Okay, here's an interesting idea. What do you think your life will be like in future years? Where will you be, how will you live, or will you live at all?

I hope to meet some geek girl in the future who I love more than life itself, and have kids one day. You know, the cool gamer dad and such. I want to keeping advancing my career and have an infulntial opinion in the gaming journalism industry, but honestly....I think World War III will break out and I'll get drafted and killed when they send all the weak nerds to the front line.

I dunno. Where do you think you'll be in the future?

There's a chance that I'll still be sitting in front of this computer at my mom's place in ten years. I really hope I won't.
If I get myself to get my ass up I'll finish my studies at the end of next year and be a trainee teacher in 2007. Then in 2009 I'll be finished with that, hopefully find a job and get a family together with an amazing woman that I'll have to find till then.
If I get my ass up...

I'll might be working in a hospital as a nutritionist, or I could be a writer.

Hoping to get a job working as a software engineer and finding a nice girl. I need to stop being a damn nerd to fix me up with the second one.

Same here. :(

Probably working somewhere for $10 - $15 an hour with a girlfriend who hates playing games, or just sitting around. Who knows.

damnhooligan 03-09-2005 09:49 PM

I don't have a clue where I'll be or what I'll be doing one year from now, let along further along the line. All I'm fairly sure of is that I'll be married and have a dog. But what I hope is that I'll eventually waste a couple tens of thousands of dollars finishing my degree and then become a poor [financially, not stylistically] writer.

Doing free-lance graphic art or getting married

raphael_is_cool 03-10-2005 04:03 AM

Writing for television or film or even directing for television or film

Otherwise I'd like to be doing something with my band

But most likely it'll be working where I do now except as an assistant manager or something. Not really knowing optics but getting by on the sales stuff.

Hopefully finding a job in computer engineering or programming once I go through college, yeah im still stuck in high school. And yeah finding the perfect girl and settling down with 15 kids. Oh what a life.

Nah, that's not true. I'm as geeky as the come, and I've found me a nice little geek girl to settle down with. She reads comics, likes wrestling, watches anime etc. If I can find one, ANYONE can.

Plus, I've dated my share of non-geek girls that also like geeky boys. They are out there dude, you'll see ;)

Machias Banshee 03-10-2005 07:49 AM

Youre a beacon of hope, Alison... ;)

10 years... thats a tough question.
If I stay with my current job, I could either be managing my own store, or be working higher in the company, maybe in advertising or something. I'd LIKE to see myself married, but a single life with a golden retriever would be nice too. If my writing takes flight, I'd like to write for magazines, television, film, even my own novels. I could use my art for illustration, or even work on my own comics. I have an original character I've been working on for a few years now. If all goes well, that will be a Big hit with kids and adults alike...

I dunno... with the way things are back home, I'll probly never afford a house of my own... :( Damn bostonians are taking up half our state... skyrocketing the prices.. I hate being broke...

Dude, why can't you be both?

Anyway. I hope to be doing something art or literature related.

KROW 03-11-2005 09:57 AM

I'll use the 10 year time frame here.

In 10 years I shall be married with two kids, a house up in the woods somewhere, and a mortgage the size of Montana. I'll be getting paid for my literary and artistic talents and will soon thereafter get a phone call explaining an offer to make one of my highly-acclaimed novel series a motion picture epic. The film will be divided into three parts and Academy Awards will be given to it for various areas, including Best Picture. The director will ask me to come up on stage to accept the award, which I will do, and I shall make a heart-warming speech, ending with a surprising, "Viva la Drome!" as I hold the award high above my gray-haired head.

So there is hope...

Kid Icarus 03-14-2005 03:38 PM

In ten years I'll have complete college for computer programing and some high math, and I'll be opening up my own development studio with nerdy friends from school.

Together we'll create stunning software capable of killing people on the spot. Okay, so maybe not that, but I'll be a little code monkey working for the honor to clean the floors that Miyamoto's walked on with my freaking tounge.

Voltron 03-15-2005 09:42 AM

I'll be dead.
