Question about Armorized Shredder (Canadian misprint?!?!)
Hi again,
I just picked up a copy of the Armorized Shredder in stores today to add to my collection. When I got him home, I noticed a misprint on his card and am just wondering if this is a Canadian problem (I assume Spin Master Toys adds French and other things to the cards for sale up here). My card, the english portion at least says: "Things are going to get a little rought er our Turtle Compandres thanks to new Armorized Shredder! As if he wasn't already evil and dangerous enough, new Shredder is even more equipped to grind our boys into Turtle soup! Will his new armor hold up against the Turtles' own Fightin' Gear? Put Shredder into lethal action against them for the ultimate confrontation." As you can see, the first sentence of the card makes NO sense. I know it is supposed to say "Things are going to get a little roughER FOR our Turtle Compandres..." So is this just a Canadian misprint? And to my fellow Canadians, if you have a copy of him, did Spin Masters ever find this problem and correct it? |
There's definitely something strange with that Figure.
The one I bought (in The Netherlands) did not have the misprint you mention, but it came with a Skatin' Raphael manual! Funny that it happens to be the same Shredder Figure. :) |
The UK/IRL one doesn't have that problem either, lol. The Canadian card would have to be written up from scratch because the French and English needs to fit on it. I'd just put it down to human error by whoever wrote up the synopsis for the card.

Thanks... I just figured that for the most part that Spin Masters would just copy and paste the American version, shrink it and then add French but I guess it isn't the case!
I have found a few copies of this toy in Canada without the misprint so I guess that figure will have to stay in his box! |
Since you're from Canada, and Ontario to be more exact. How many figures have you actually seen? I have yet to see anything new have more than one or two figures available. The newest and last one I've seen was the Fugitoid, and there was only one of them at Toys R Us. I think the availability it's getting a bit ridiculous now.

I can still find the original line now and then, the Fightin' Gear line, and the Space Turtles. For the most part I have found that I cannot find any at Toys R Us other than the turtles and Walmart only had a good selection at Xmas time. I actually have found all my turtles (other than the Nanotech Monster which I got at Toys R Us) at Zellers! They don't always have a lot, but I check on Tuesday mornings right after they restock and have found almost all the friends and foes that aren't turtles on their shelves at one time or another! I have seen all the 2003-2004 lines on shelves at Zellers, from the original turtles, casey and april, to the mutating turtles, ninja action figures, etc. I do my ninja turtle shopping at Zellers. You can also probably back me up on the 7 inch plushie board. You may have seen the little plushie figures and ooze containers: don't they run for about $10 Cdn for the plushie and $8 for the ooze containers? Hope that helps. I did get frustrated with the ninja turtle selection up here until I discovered that Zellers is pretty good with their stock and their stock is not as picked through as Toys R Us or Walmart. |
