New Episode Discussion: "Exodus II"

Here we are... only a short time before we see the final blow-out. With a finale of this caliber, how the TMNT are not on Adult swim is beyond me...

Since we last met, we've seen Hun and Leatherhead plunge possibly to their deaths, we've seen the US Government literally shooting up part of Manhattan, Karai taking Saki into the spaceship, the boys leaping for their lives onto the spaceship as it takes an emergency liftoff.

How could things get Possibly Worse?!

That my friends, is why I am here...

This will Hands down be THE most violent episode of the Season, if not the series. Yes, it will even give "Same as it never was" a run for its money!

Saki's name and well-being on Earth is GONE. His company is Done for. His plans for returning utterly destroyed. One of his best men, MIA or KIA. His only associate to take his place on Earth is now trapped on the space ship with him. The government will take over Everything in his building, Thanks to Bishop. There is NO way he can ever return to Earth. And you KNOW that when all's lost, THAT is when you fight like never before.

We will see bruises, broken limbs, concussions... and the eventual 'DEATH' of a major character. I say 'Death' because you never know with the writers of this show :P We have seen previews of the boys getting their backsides handed to them. What about the 'thing' between Karai and Leonardo? Will she do what is necessary, or do what is 'right', according to Shredder? Only time will tell...

Will Splinter and the boys defeat the Shredder once and for all?
Will we find out what happened to Hun and Leatherhead?
If the boys get defeated, Who will come to their aid?
Where the heck is April and Casey?!
WHO DIES?!

STAY TUNED!!!

After some much needed time away, I have returned rested and ready to bring the season to a close..
This is it people... its the final showdown of the Season! The fight we've been waiting for is finally here! After so many weeks and so many battles, it’s finally coming to a head. But who's head will be rolling after This?
It begins with the spark of a memory... the memory of a beloved master....father..... Ignites the fuel that will start the blaze Urged by the warnings of the Great Beyond, Splinter and his sons take on the task that has plagued Splinter since the time of his mutation. To avenge the death of his master, and end the conflicts once and for all.
But will they finally do it?
Ever since the first issue of the Mirage Comics, the act of calling Saki out on his doing was for the sole purpose of revenge. The first thoughts of revenge came from a time when the murder/execution was still fresh in Sp's mind. Now that Splinter has been able to heal somewhat from his trauma, and has taken the role of father to his sons... does he still wish for this taking back of honor, despite what dangers it might bring to his sons?
One stands in their way, yet has a similar goal. Is he utrom? is he a Guardian his mind lost to power? What if he is a clone...? Centuries of bishop clones working towards a common goal? Who knows...
And..what will become of Saki's employees? Will he leave them behind, or take them with him to continue their services? We come to the question of Leo and Karai. Will she make her final choice? Or will Leo be forced to fight her in these final hours? All we can do is theorize until the final moment...
Theories…what we thought was the theory of what the boys could be one big lie. Something about the boys is going to happen. Something BIG. Something we never expected. Is this commercial propaganda? Or is there a new twist to the turtles that we do not know about?
What is going to happen with everyone?
Who is going to die?
Where is April and Casey?
When are we going to find out what Bishop IS?!

Kinda shocked me seeing Utrom Saki getting an arrow to the face. OUCH!

Great Episode, although I am pretty sure Hun knew about Saki being an Utrom before this ep.

Anyways, can't wait for next week!

Toonami Tom 04-16-2005 09:05 AM

Great episode! Wow the turtles totally destroyed Saki's exo suit! Next weeks battle in space will be awesome! I think Shredder's going to bite the big one, lol.

Jo Dawn 04-16-2005 09:07 AM

Wooooow...

To be honest, I must admit, that since before Christmas the only episode I saw was the Don one two or three weeks ago.

But this episode today... made me not be abe to wait until next Saturday!!

I have to rewatch the ep. All the comments I had and was going to make were all forgotten when the preview hit, hehe.

But... Hun didn't know? Oooh, priceless.

John 14:6 04-16-2005 09:08 AM

This episode was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! I can't wait for next week! :o

I thought Hun knew Shredder was an Utrom. Wasn't there an earlier episode where he was in his presence without his human suit? I thought Chapman and Stockman knew as well.

That new exosuit of Shredder's looks awesome! If they make a toy of that I might have to start collecting!

Who do you think we'll never see again? I know a lot has been said about the Shredder being defeated here, but with those worms from the comics I've heard about I don't want to say it's him. Plus that wouldn't be much of a surprise.
I'm guessing Karai. I bet she finally comes around and ends up sacrificing herself to help the Turtles and defeat Shredder.

Karai definitely knew that Shredder was an Utrom. I don't think Hun actually appears in any scene where Shredder is revealed to be an Utrom, though. Just shows you how tightly controlled information is in the Foot empire.

(edit: I had a quick look at "Secret Origins 3", and Shredder isn't revealed to be an Utrom until he dismisses Hun and the Foot Elite to hunt down Stockman.)

(edit: In "Rogue In The House 1", Karai finishes reviving Shredder, but Hun doesn't see Shredder until he's back in his body.)

Also, Stockman was supposed to be working with Bishop, so presumably he is going to double-cross Shredder one last time, no? Did I miss something, or will Stockman's final betrayal happen in the next episode?

PizzaPower 04-16-2005 09:09 AM

I also thought that Hun knew Shredder was in ultrom. But I guess not. Man I cannot wait untill next week's ep either! I dont think tmnt is going to be the same with the Shredder gone, but I can manage it I hope.

Toonami Tom 04-16-2005 09:11 AM

Karai can't die because today's episode Saki pretty much told her that when he leaves she is in control making her the new Shredder.

Hopefully we'll see Stockman take on a huge role helping Bishop.

I have to admit I was kind of disappointed that Don's trip to the "future" never came up. Instead everything was based on Splinter's dream... :ohwell:

But that was the plan for her to stay behind, now she's on the ship. That's what Shredder WANTED to see happen, but that doesn't mean it WILL.

Maybe there'll be some bit about Donatello wanting to stay on the Utrom home world in part two. Kind of like in the old toon's "Planet of the Turtleoids".

PizzaPower 04-16-2005 09:13 AM

I don't think baxter stockman will have a major role in next week's tmnt ep. But at first I though Don was going to take on Shredder by himself when the bridge blew up. And if baxter stockman does help biship, do you think bishop will take Baxter into his wing?

Oroku Saki 04-16-2005 09:15 AM

I believe Hun was indeed in the presence of an Utrom Shredder after the implosion ep, when he was in the tank with the worms........or when the exo saki suit was there.

Yeah, I meant next season as speculation is Bishop will take over as the primary villain. It looks like Bishop and Stockman won't do much next week...
I wonder what will happen to Champman? He was still on the ship!

Toonami Tom 04-16-2005 09:16 AM

I just also wanted to say that I had hoped today's episode would have had a Saki VS Bishop fight, oh well...... It was still a good episode. I also wanted to see a pantyshot of Karai when she was fighing in her dress j/k.

PizzaPower 04-16-2005 09:17 AM

no it won't. But we don't know untill we see the episode. I personally hope Karzi dies along with the Shredder. She has no honor.

Whitewolf89 04-16-2005 09:24 AM

EXCELLENT ep! The look on Hun's face upon discovered that his revered Master is a Utrom was just priceless! Me, I don't think that he DID know that Saki was an Utrom before this, even though Karai did (shows just how much MORE that Saki trusts her than he does Hun, doesn't it?!), but that's just me.

I loved the beginning of the ep, too, where Splinter had the vision of him and Master Yoshi. The Guardian outfit looked good on our honored mutant Sensei, as well. ;)

Also, it's nice to know that we WON'T have to wait til this fall to find out what's going to happen...even though it's going to take a trip into space for our guys and Splinter to resolve everything. And did y'all catch what they said at the end of the preview? "It's the FINAL SHOWDOWN between the Turtles and Shredder. And we guarantee that you'll NEVER SEE one of these characters again after "Exodus" Part II!" Sounds very much to ME like someone is LEAVING the show permanently. Any bets as to WHO? Personally, MY money's on the Shredder and/or Baxter (I rather doubt it's one of the boys, Splinter, April or Casey...DUH!!!), but it COULD be anyone. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

And Machi, welcome back. It was nice to read read one of YOUR excellent teasers once again. NOT that Jo Dawn DIDN'T do a good job with the couple that SHE did, but NOBODY does them like YOU do, O Mistress of the TMNT Teasers. *bows respectfully*

All-in-all, an excellent ep. Can't wait for next week, and the season's conclusion. Wonder what they'll have in store for us in the fall? Food for thought.

Peace.

PizzaPower 04-16-2005 09:26 AM

it will not be baxter, probably Shredder, or it COULD EVEN BE ONE OF THE TURTLES!!!!!! :-p

Leonardo_Warrior_Turtle 04-16-2005 09:27 AM

Amazing episode!!! Wow. This show continues to blow my mind away. The action did indeed explode. I loved how violent this episode was. Shredder got shot in the head, hand, and in the chest with arrows. Yes, we know he isn't human but he looks like it in that suit. Plus, Leatherhead really went to town trying to destroy him. He sure was pissed.

A few other things I noticed.

-The Yoshi vision sequence was amazing. And did you notice that Splinter was wearing an original Guardian outfit? I guess Splinter has taken the role of a Guardian now.

-April and Casey got involved. True, Casey didn't fight but at least they were there. In fact, Casey saved someone from falling into the launch pad.

-Bishop wants the ship? Why? I guess it would be a perfect tool for him but why? I guess we'll have to wait until next week but most likely Season 4.

-Hun didn't know Saki was an Utrom? That surprised me. And the way that Karai said that the Utroms have been hunting her father all his life, why didn't Leo tell her he was a criminal back in his pre-Earth days.

-Did Hun scream "Krrrrrrrrrrrrang!!!" as he was falling down that pit?

Oh and I think I have a bit of an idea what might happen. They are in space and maybe they do make it to the Utrom homeworld. It looks like Saki either might get captured by them. Or he might actually get killed. Season 3 is going to end where it started. In space. Wow. I can't wait for next week's episode. I'll try to have the preview uploaded for those of you who want to see it again.
