Who is Man Ray? Is he from the comic books?

"As of now, I am no longer your teacher. You have learned all that I can teach you. My final instructions are that you leave the lair, and each go his own way. Farewell. And may good fortune shine on you." - Splinter, from "Splinter Vanishes"

yeah i think he means ray fillet?, he was only in the comics and also in the book "A fishy adventure"

Ninja Turtles Cartoon Fan 11-24-2002 12:24 AM

If he is talking about Ray Fillet, then yes, he was in an episode!

It aired during the fourth season, 1990. It was episode #91, called "Rebel Without A Fin."

"I think I'll name you . . . Ray! After the second-cousin on my mother's side!"
"Are you drivin' me or what? That's the dumbest name I ever heard!"

Dr. Polidorius and Ray, from "Rebel Without A Fin"

Mondo_Gecko 11-24-2002 12:26 AM

No thats Man Ray/Ray Fillet He looks diffrent Man Ray was a manta Ray and the other Ray was green fish.

Oh, well. I tried!

"These aliens are big . . . strong . . . and ugly as mud!" - Leonardo, from "Unidentified Flying Leonardo"

yes, however he is simply called "Ray" not "Ray fillet"

That was a pretty good episode, even though the animation for it wasn't done very well. I distinctly remember Leonardo and Raphael almost getting into a fight in that episode.

Raphael: "Leonardo, if all these sewers were laid end to end --"
Leonardo: "Yeah?"
Raphael: "-- well, it'd be a pretty ridiculous sight. But they'd probably be able to reach from here to the moon!"

*Leonardo gets in Raphael's face, their noses touching*

Leonardo: "Thanks for sharing, Raphael!"
Donatello: "I think what Raphael means is that our chances of finding April in these sewers are somewhat slim."

From "Rebel Without A Fin"

Its too bad Man Ray was never in an episode it would have been great.

Ratking 11-24-2002 02:03 AM

true, he would have been a kick as$ character

Karpo_007 11-24-2002 05:22 AM

There were many Archie characters that appeared in the cartoon but they were totally diffrent.

OMG!!!!!!! I remember reading that book when I was in second grade! What was ironic to me was that the human he was mutated from looked like a total nerd, then completely looked and acted different in his Ray Fillet form.

Mondo_Gecko 11-24-2002 12:45 PM

So Karpo your saying that ut could have been Man Ray but they cchanged him.

Karpo_007 11-24-2002 01:44 PM

Yes. Shlash was in the cartoon too, and looked nothing like the Archie counterpart.

Mondo_Gecko 11-24-2002 01:46 PM

Yes your right. Watching it now its not how i remeber it, I like Slah in the Archie comics better what a cool evil turtle. I loved it when he fought the Turtles.

Karpo_007 11-24-2002 01:49 PM

Yes the characters were much better in Archie. They were brought to the show just to sell toys and only were in it for one or two episodes.

Mondo_Gecko 11-24-2002 07:11 PM

Huh I didn't know that.
