"Beware the Lotus" Discussion Thread

Any episode where poor Shredder is up-staged by another ninja sounds good to me--especially if said ninja has a thing with Leonardo.

So, thoughts, quotes, etc you'd like to share?

Why are we randomly skipping so many episodes since the last classic ep discussion? Although it was like a year ago.

Lotus was a cool character I loved her as a villane and I like how she was an actual threat to the Ninja Turtles. I really enjoyed the feelings of deep caring and kinship that Leonardo and Lotus had for each other. The ending of the first episode with Lotus leaving the lair and running off into the night was touching and made me sad.

Was cool to see Leo fall for someone, and Lotus was a bad-ass ninja in the true sense of the word. Basic rat for hire, cept she had some morals, I guess. Funny scenes of Shredder forced to check in some crappy motel, and how he loved the fact that matter who won between the Turtles or Lotus and Krang, it'll be someone he hates that will lose.

"Can someone tell Romeo that Juliet kidnapped Master Splinter?"
"I want romance!!" "Take a number and get in line."

In all objectivity, this was a great episode. It had everything. A brooding Shredder, hilarious dialogue, several Foot Soldier battles, and even a racial stereotype or two for good measure.

But seriously, f*ck the fan reaction to Lotus Blossom. And people who think she has anything to do with Karai.

Aska

Some say she was like Aska in the video game.

"You're asking me to be a traitor to a friend!!"

Geez, they never once saw Splinter as their father... just their sensei or some friend they live with.

I think it all depended on the writer. If Wise or Reaves or even Moss was writing an episode the turtles and Splinter seemed to aknowledge they where family. If some else was, they where just friends...

Stupid ghost episode later

She appeared later two. But that was some stupid ghost episode (with everything caused by Bebop and Rocksteady's incompetence).

Lotus got screwed in her second appearance. Her come back should have been with a bang not a wimper.

I don't get why she was on such friendly terms with the turtles on her second meeting with them (despite trying to kill them at first).
