Check it out hehe... Just got home from NYC this thursday, and thought I would take a little pic of the turtles home :D hehe. I didn't dare go down there though, hot smoke was coming up from the manhole covers hehe... don't know why. thank god the turtles are coldblooded, that's probably how they can stand that humongous heat down in the sewers hehe. anyways... got myself some comics from the midtown comic-shop, and a nice oldschool tmnt shirt. I can post some pics later if ya want. well it's good to be back in lil' Denmark hehe...

It actually makes sense that the manhole cover is made in India. They worship rats in India and well there's lots of rats in the sewers. :lol:

Yeah, I was just wondering why New Yorkers have to import manholes from distant India. U.S. Steel ones are too expensive? :|

Very probably. I'm pretty sure that none of the manhole covers for first world countries are actually made in the country where they're used.

I'm curious why this "Made in India" label is so well visible.

Simple, they make the lettering large so you don't have to crouch down to read the fine print!

Frankly, I have never seen a "country of origin" label printed on any manhole cover before. OK, at least on the Europen ones... :|

hehe, thought you might enjoy the megaman T-shirt too hehe. I myself, think it's awesome hehe, but maybe that's just me :P... and Robweiler, I don't think it's everyday you feel like just staring at a European manhole, maybe if you look closely you'll notice where it's made hehe. :D :dead:

On my journey to work I observed very closely local covers today... Didn't spot anything... Maybe they are labeled on the bottom :-?

I saw a manhole cover in Tacoma once that said Made in China. :roll:

I have that same green shirt with old TMNT Logo. I bought it I think in Strawbridges a few years ago. About the Sewer, when I was younger at age 8 or 9, I had a Sewer Fascination inspired by the Turtles. My friend and I used to go down the sewer and tried crawling thru the tunnels. We walked around the street trying to lift sewer lids. I thought it was so neat the way the sewer is a whole maze underground. I'm still fascinated by it. We never really went too far into a tunnel. It was dark and I was scared of rats & bugs, dirty water, & maybe poop. I'm sure the Turtles got other kids interested in Sewer.
