Would you have a problem if turtles died in a fanwork?

Just curious. Would that really annoy you seeing a turtle kick the bucket? Or interesting to see it happen, ie (same as it never was).

Sewer Bull 08-20-2005 03:30 AM

I really wouldn't mind. I'd be upset a bit, but hey, life's life. Death is always an interesting topic to use in art. And there are plenty of other fanarts where they live happily ever afterwards...

Errr... do you consider to kill them in your MNT flash? :ohwell: (just curious)

The Stryker 08-20-2005 04:34 AM

Hell, I kill them on a regular basis in my fics, Like 70% percent of the time the story has nothing to do with the turtles. Im a Shredder writer :D

OA 08-20-2005 11:46 AM

Ehh...death happens...i say go for it...besides it doesn't happen too often in fan works so it could be a refreshing change of pace...

Jester 08-20-2005 12:41 PM

Death is probably more readily accepted than say giving a charactera dibilitating injury. That would be probably mor eheinous.

OA 08-20-2005 12:47 PM

or turning one of them into a cyborg... :dead:

Jester 08-20-2005 12:51 PM

Or introdusing a long lost female 5th turtle.

KROW 08-20-2005 01:44 PM

It wouldn't bother me any, as long as it made sense and was done well. If you get the aftershocks done just right, it'll be great.

XERO 08-20-2005 03:22 PM

It wouldn't bother me neither. As long as it has a purpose of accomplishment.

Sewer Bull 08-20-2005 03:24 PM

Errr... And if one killed another?

XERO 08-20-2005 04:33 PM

Then, what's the point of being a good guy? :P

All the pain, battles, wars and violence they've overcame for peace, and to have one of them become evil? That's kind of lame and expected.

But then again, what if was it more personal...? Extremely personal on a emotional and perhaps psychotic level? :-?

That would be a heartstopper. :|

... woman?

XERO 08-20-2005 04:51 PM

:P

How about...acceptance? Trust? Loyalty? What if it was an accident? What if it was a mental message that forced one of them to do it?

Perhaps anxiety? Something could have scared one of them to do it.

Or jealousy? Perhaps not, because as tight-knitted this family is, envy should be the last thing to make one of them kill one another.

But you never know...

R-iZZy 08-20-2005 05:17 PM

I guess it would sorta bother me. Not that I'd mind one dying, but it would definitely effect me. Like, I'd feel the heartbreak the victim's brother would feel, because I've sorta gotten to know them as much as the others have. I'll be heartbroken, no doubt, but death is the only guarantee with life, so I guess it makes sense that one dies/some die, it's a part of life... and it's reality.

Exactly. It's a great way to delve into the psyches of the other characters. And while I've never killed of any of the TMNT in any of my fics (yet... I can never promise anything, heh) I am guilty of the 'debilitating injury' in my one fic.... here it comes.... Shameless pimping... Learning to Live Again . ;) :)

I second that.

Now that would be a bit disturbing...i remember I think it was in the Image comics when I belive Raph kills Splinter who has turned into a Giant Bat (this may or may not be completely accurate...dont remember the story too well as the Image series was absolutely nuts....)...anyway, that whole idea was pretty sickening IMO..it would be far worse to have them kill each other...the ramifications of such an act would be massive...at times it seems as if there is just a tiny thread that keeps them all on the same page and I think that such an act would forever destroy the tmnt as we know them irrevocably...

NeoBix 08-20-2005 10:13 PM

I heard that Casey Jones dies in the new 2007 TMNT movie.

Probably just a rumor, but you never know.

Or something you made up. :P

As for a TMNT dying, nah I wouldn't really have a problem, mybe depends on "how" it happens, but then again probably not.

NeoBix 08-20-2005 10:19 PM

Weapon X let's just hope that Raph doesn't die in the new movie or the whole audience will be filled with weeping fan girls and we won't be able to hear the rest of the movie.
