M.E.S.S. TMNT Variations

Some more TMNT variations, this time from Playmates site:

For some reason Don won't load on the site:ohwell: (even though I reckon the "Leo" they have is actually Don)

I'm gonna take a lucky guess and say a lot of people won't be happy with these variants...

They are cool... but not anything we really haven't seen before!

The problem is, whether the "collectors" are happy or not, we will still buy them. Too bad we aren't strong enough to just stand together and boycott for better toys. But in the end we would all buy the ones so our collections would be complete, and the more support TMNT has, the longer they will be producing figures!

We can't win... They aren't at the top of my list by any means, but they will be a welcomed addition to my collection when I get around to getting them!

Yea, I'm definately not too happy about these new variations...hopefully, they wont be at the $10 mark cuz thats whats been killing me about the latest waves (combat warriors, monsters)

i hate these variations of the turtles , my kid usually takes the extra **** off of them anyway. just another way for playmates to try to sucker me out of even more $$$. i stopped with all the turtles and just get all the others. i admit i got the mystic fury guys , at least their variations were a permanent thing , and they do look cool

Another set to add to the ever growing list of the one's I need. I don't mind shelling out for figures, but I do have issues with some of these "deluxe" figures that they charge us extra for...

Monster trappers... after taxes up here are $20Cdn each...
Combat Warriors... about $18 Cdn

And really... I don't see how the Combat Warriors are "deluxe" figures.

So I don't mind more turtles as long as they aren't considered "deluxe"... I actually think the MESS Mikey looks pretty cool... I think I just like his gun! :-P

I gave up trying to get everything. In the end what's it really matter, who gives a rats ass if you have all the toys, especially if you don't even like a majority of them. I stick to what looks cool now, but since my wallet allows I have been buying every Leo variant. Definitely not getting all the package variants.

I'd much rather save the cash and get the old school stuff off eBay since that's what I truly love anyway. If these MESS figures at least looked cool I would probably buy them, but they suck ass. What the hell are they wearing, they look terrible. Whoever's idea this was they need a kick in the nads (or ovaries, I'll try and be politically correct).

The only variants I'll buy (hell I'm even looking forward to them) are the stretchy turtles.

To the above poster, the mystic fury figures were cool. I like the head sculpts (except Donny's) and the tattoos are nice since it gives them more "color".

Wow! Just what I've always wanted, Ninja turtles wearing shorts and shirts!

Masked Ninja 11-12-2005 01:20 AM

These are what, sports Turtles? Raph and his Bladed Football of Doom... *sigh* I have a basic Leo and I'm happy with it. Only figures I'd ever buy in addition would be the basic versions of the other guys. Most of these variations are dumb, and the heads get creepier as we go...

-->> :ohwell: ..these figures are getting harder for me to understand..

..The Mystic Fury TMNTs were the first set of Variants in quite awhile where i got all 4 .. at least the head sculpts are rad -differant than alot of the other variants. They remind me of Early 90s head sculpts.. ..

should i get these foot -ball Turtles ?!
:(

Yea...i liked these haead scuplts as well ...except for Don, which is kinda weird for me...

aramconbrat 11-12-2005 08:52 PM

Yeah... I don't know what they were trying to achieve with the Don sculpt but they failed miserably... He looks more constipated than anything!

But they will eventually come into the collection... I have sworn off everything TMNT but turtles (and other really cool merchandise) for now because they are getting so out of hand, releasing set after set of variants...

I feels sorry for the collectors who attempt to get all the different card backs. I am just in it for each figure and it's accessories...

I have two jobs... My normal job... And then a second job who's paycheck goes purely to supporting the ninja turtles. I imagine after Xmas I will be able to drop that job until next fall because there won't be so many new figures.

Will I get the MESS... most likely... Will I be happy about it; getting new figures always makes me happy... But am I in full support of what Playmates is producing... NO

But Stretchy Turtles... they shall all be mine the moment they hit!!!
