PS3 Launch Date...Sorta
Hello Everyone!
Mark March 21st 2006 on your calander coz that could be the launch date for the PS3 i got this tidbit on here http://www.joystiq.com/entry/1234000017071749/ the date is for japan but im hoping for a world wide launch (which i dont think is possable) any thoughts? |
*snickers*
Yeah Right. Reeeeally. Bullsh1t. No way in hell. Still, nice thought that you could have PS3, Halo 3, and the Nintendo Revolution all in the same November. Either way, June-August, I could maybe believe that, but March? That's funny. Bullsh1t, but funny. I kind of wish it were true though, and Sony launch in Spring, then late Summer here. That way I wouldn't have to listen to the Holiday Revolution versus PS3 sales doomsday reports the media loves to blow out their ass every 3 months or so. Meh, either way. March = OMFGlololzololz Sony's just saying "Spring Launch" so as to possibly detract some 360 sales this Christmas in the false hope that PS3 is just around the corner. It's bullsh1t. Right after Christmas, they'll delay the hell out of it to make room for Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts II. I guarntee you they would not launch a system when the two biggest PS2 games aren't even out yet. Also, after the piss poor excuse for a "Global" launch Microsoft has pulled off, I doubt you'll ever see a 2 week global launch time frame ever again. I still don't have mine, and I was on the "2nd shipment". *******s at Microsoft. |
That would be pretty sweet...but it does seem a bit more realsitic to have it come out toward the end of the year...which sux...but who knows...
|
would you rather have it now, and have crappy games, or have it delayed a few months and have good games?
wait. i just applied nintendo logic to sony. |
I'd rather have it now with good games...
|
Sony...good games? ELL OH ELL!

I think that, when the PS3 comes out, it will be the first time ever that I waited on line for a product overnight to be released. |

and shadow of the colloseus isn't a sony game, from what i remember, it's from a third party. next? |

Anyway, God of War has been in development even before "The Sands of Time" was. GT4 is the most in depth racing game ever, and the original pretty much set the standards for how racing games should be. Socom 3 is, in my opinion and the opinion of the 56,000 other people currently online, a good squad based shooter that you can just pick up and instantly play. Killzone is also a good FPS. And Shadow of the Colloseus is published by Sony, but thanks for playing. One would think that, in a Sony thread, people would do anything but trash Sony left and right. I mean, I like Nintendo, but I'm not going to go into a Nintendo thread and say what you can get on other systems that are on the GameCube (by the way, what awesome releases are coming out really soon for the Cube, eh?). So you might want to grow up and recognize the fact that there are other systems out there that are pretty damn good as well. |
I agree with most that has just been said. Gwg hopefully knows how much I respect him but as far as the Sony hatred goes, I can hardly take anything seriously he says. This is really not meant to be offending but you are just way too biased to be objective.
And Peanut... No one likes you anyway. :p |
i'm not badmouthing sony, i'm badmouthing their games.
i didnt even start this 'their games suck' stuff either. if you'd be paying attention to the discussion, i just stated this: Quote:
And my 40,000+ Mario Kart DS players trump your socom 3 players. Oh, and we got those numbers in less time, too (less then a month, and it's not even out in japan yet)... with a smaller installed user base... kinda funny, no? God of War is just one big over hyped piece of crap that relies on a gimmicky combat system that turns into a standard hack and slash, but tries to cover that up with an extremely cliched story, and tries to present it's mindlessness as 'mature' so it can get sales. Oh look, i just described over half of the PS2's games. and grow up? why the hell would i want to do that? i coulden't enjoy these pathetic arguments on an internet message board most people don't know about that always turn into a 'who's got the bigger wang?' contest. as we all know, i live for them. every moment of my life is dedicated to them. </sarcasm> |
PS2 is my least favorite console of this generation but I'll be one of the first to admit that there are some great exclusive games on PS2. Ratchet and Clank is flat out amazing!
|
Oh come on Gwg, Nintendo is recycling their ideas as much as anyone else.
I do agree that most of Sony's games are crap. But "God of War" and "ICO" (haven't played "Shadow" yet) are definitely two of the greatest games of this generation to me so don't expect me to just watch you badmouthing games you have probably not played for more than five minutes. |
And comparing the amount of online players Mario Kart has versus Socom 3 doesn't make it a bad game, it just makes MK more popular. As far as I know Socom3 isn't even out in PAL regions (but I'm probably wrong on that, it's not my kind of game so I don't keep up with it).
EDIT: Checked out the release date out of curiosity and it's not out till February 2006. |
I'll just say this. I play what I want to play, regardless of popular opinion. Let's just leave it at that.
...and PS3 will never launch in Spring. I'd bet money on that. |

There are only two games I've ever completely enjoyed on PS2. Ico and Kingdom Hearts. Everything else is third party and therefore available on other systems, both of which is the better option over PS2 anyday. Quote:

But no, seriously. I've had more fun with my PS2 than my cube. Here's my Cube: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/fae08f63.jpg It's been like that for pretty much the past year or so. Collecting dust. Here's my PS2. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/eb6c62e6.jpg The life of the party, I guess. |
Poor child. I feel for you.
Yes, I'm being an ass :P |
It's the same for me though. The time I have spent with the PS2 is not even comparable to my time with the Cube. Maybe ten times as much. And I do love my Cube. :(
