80's series Background music?
Hey. Any of you ever get background music from the 80's/90's TMNT in your head?
I do, especially recently. So, what's your favorite "background music"? (note, most names I came up with, as I do not know the official name, any correction would be appreciated) The two that have made it into video games are "Turtle Power" (the instrumental version, usually played during pivotal fights) and the "Krang Theme" (in the Arcade game, and the second Gameboy game, it's used as the music for the final fight with everyone's favorite alien brain) Those two are always used in specific situations, much like another one, the rather Jaws-esque "Technodrome Rolls", used only in several episodes, and always in scenes that involved the Technodrome moving (first used in the Mouser episode, when the underground buildings are crushed, next used when it's rolling to the "portal site" in "Return of the Technodrome") Another piece I rather like is "The Monsterous Peril", first used during the portal scene in "Splinter No More", when that portal to Dimension Eh (or is it Dimension STOP!) opens and that weird thing emerges. In the episode "20000 Leaks Beneath the Sea" you hear that music in a different key. And then there's one of the "On Trial" music, originally intended to be the theme of that Howard Stern-esque show, but later recycled whenever certain weird funny things happened, such as the malfunctioning pizza machine. So, any of you have any favorite background music? If you can refer to the episode, especially if it's a one off (the pizzeria music in the very first episode, for example) ~Ra'akone |
Saxo tune from "Turtle Tracks" played when Mikey enters the chamber with pizzas. It sounds so 80-ish.

the "heroes in a half shell: Turtle power! " theme plays continuously in my head :) .
|
Yeah, I'll say the entire (original) theme. That song rocks.

The tune that would usually accompanys a street gang.

Ah yes I recently heard TMNT theme 1 and 2,then I played the MC Hammer one and Ninja RAp.....gezz Ice did a coorny job... TURTLE POWER was better

I don't know what it is called, but it is very simple and repetative... almost always starts when the bad guys come into the scene. Very "Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun dun...."
I guess that's the Jaws-esque one? :) I almost ALWAYS have that junk in my head. Gah. |
give me an example of an episode and scene with said music.
The "Jaws" like theme you only hear in a handful of episodes, where there's the Technodrome moving Quote:

Hmm, have to think of a name for it, perhaps "gang chillin'"? ~Ra'akone |

I liked the spooky music they would play when something...suspecful aor scarey would be happening. Like in the Attack of the Killer pizzas episde where Irma and April and Vernon are walking in the sewers and Irma is saying "and then it burned right through the wall..."
Also that music that played when they where searching for the pizza eating creature and the scene pans up to the ceiling and you see it hiding behind a support beam. Oh and that fast paced music that played in the first episode where they are running up the steps of that building that is filling with water. That had pretty good beat to it. |
There is one stuck in my mind right now 'cause I just watched The Old Switcharoo" and it's that sort of long, moaning song with lots of base. It's kind of spooky... I like that song, it's different.

Thats the one I was talking about I think. I think seasons one through three had the best back ground music in it. Red Sky had a more mid niniteis feel to it that I liked, even though it was mostly techno sounds, and I louth techno:dead:

I love the car chase music that they used occasionaly. If you watch the cab scene in "Beyond the Donatello Nebula" or the big 4-car chase finale in "Raphael Drives Em' Wild", you'll see what I'm talking about.
