Ebay Madness is in full swing, I see. :o

Jester 01-04-2006 04:58 PM

No TMNT toy is that rare or worth that much....Idiot! Some people on E-bay are just looking to screw over the naive.

aramconbrat 01-04-2006 05:21 PM

How tempted am I to shell out $30,000 for three figures I already have multiple of?

And even at $1,000 starting price, you would think the LEAST they could do would be to purchase a Shogun Triceraton and try to pawn it off. I mean, these guys aren't even that hard to get!

And I mean, they have to pay like $10+ just to list something with a start price and a buy it now price that high... They must honestly believe they can get that...

Silly people!

BigApple3AM 01-04-2006 05:52 PM

I think they only did this to get attention, I mean they got us talking right? I seriously doubt they think anyone will buy them at the price. People do this on eBay all the time, I don't know why. It does cost money to list on eBay.

aramconbrat 01-04-2006 07:20 PM

Maybe they are trying to get the 'news coverage' like all the other 'odd' ebay auctions...

And if you get the press interested, you tend to sell your item... But it's a toy... It's not going to be news worthy.

I don't get why people do this stuff...

They've more money than sense;)

This is absurd...people like this are a waste of ebay space and just add more junk i have to go through when i do searches. Simply saying something is rare is not going to get someone to spend 10,000 on something. Is there even an action figure alive worth $10,000?

There are a few. Don't know specifics but I know one of my relatives has one (Mint in box, never opened, blah blah blah). I think it might be a G.I. Joe but I nevered paid attention much to figures I wasn't interested in.

I am sure there are more than just the one out there... But the Ninja Turtles had such a huge production (even to the end although it was only proportional) that none of them will reach that kinda status...

The only other auction he has sold that was toys was loose Star Wars toys and it sold for $200... The rest are like $50, or $5 auctions... How dumb this guy must think we are?

andrewdsz 01-05-2006 12:51 PM

These auctions surely give us some strong VISION IMPACT.

Spitfire 01-05-2006 02:58 PM

Someone email that guy and tell him he's the biggest moron to ever grace the internet. That or tell him to remove his head from his anus and pay attention to other auctions.

aramconbrat 01-05-2006 03:41 PM

And no free shipping with buy it now? Well that right there MUST be the deal breaker

I believe one of the rarer action figures out there is from the orinigal Star Wars line and I think its called Jawa w/ Plastic (or vinyl or something) cape....i've seen that go for around $3,500...and trust that me, thats a GAZILLION times more rare these Talking TMNT are...

TheShowstoppa 01-06-2006 08:13 PM

Wow... that guy's a real walking nut-sack! I only say that because he's got a lot of balls to think he's actually going to get $10K for those figs. No one's that stupid... hell... Myteefinestuff.com is WAYYY cheaper than that idiot! Anyone have a vomit bucket, cause I'm about to hurl!

Buslady 01-07-2006 10:25 AM

Hey well, ya know..in SoCal they'll try anything!!
I think the seller's been smokin the dope a l'il too much. Too much pot in San Clemente.....Shoot, when I lived there, I had a friend who's dad GREW it in their back yard...maybe it's them selling these figs....

OA 01-07-2006 11:16 AM

Either that or he really thinks he's on to something special here...

remix17 01-07-2006 11:43 AM

In a way, I kinda hope he's simply trying to swindle people...because if he isn't, he's an incredible idiot. :/

BigApple3AM 01-07-2006 03:15 PM

I've personally always felt the worth of a toy is in the eye of the beholder. When it comes down to it it's all just plastic made in China for about 10 cents. Some star-geeks may think a jawa is worth a house payment, I don't. Of course I treasure certain figures as priceless, but even those I can always replace for $5-10 on eBay.

Still this is just like the gouging they did for the mech wrekkers, except I think that case was worse. This is a ridiculous auction with no chance of buyers, but mech wrekkers were still in stores and people were charging $100 for them and getting that. People thought maybe since it's a big toy that's what it goes for, could've been a Grandma trying to figure out eBay for the first time, makes me sick.

SurfGuru133 01-07-2006 06:49 PM

Hell I better go place my bid rite away man I always spend my cash on 10,000 dollar toys that look like a **** I dont kno about u dudes but im gonna hope I win this bid

andrewdsz 01-07-2006 07:19 PM

Just emailed him, he said he is giving me 10% discount and free insurance if i win all of his 3 TMNT Talking figures, I have to pay the shipping though.

I mean, he is very serious about his listing... ...
