New Tmnt CGI Movie Poster!

I FREQUENT THE SUPER HERO HYPE AT COMINGSOON.NET AND FOUND THIS:

NOW PERSONALLY I DONT LIKE THEM YET. DONT LIKE THE SKIN TEXTURE, DONT LIKE THE EYES (TOO FAR APART AND TOO SNAKE LIKE). SO FAR ITS LOOKING LIKE THE ONLY CGI IVE SEEN LIKE THIS....CORNY CGI. I CAN IMAGINE THE MOVEMENT LOOKING STUPID ALREADY. THEY HAVE ALOT OF WORK TO DO. PERSONALLY I WOULDN'T HAVE RELEASED THESE PICS IF THEY DIDN'T LOOK ANYTHING LIKE THE FINAL PRODUCT. OR MAYBE THIS IS THE FINAL PRODUCT......iLL!

ANYONE KNOW WHAT IMAGI HAS DONE BEFORE?

Barkworm 01-12-2006 05:57 AM

I've been supporting all the pics so far but the high res version of this poster looks just painfully bad. Amateur-level bad.

VaughnMichael 01-12-2006 06:42 AM

man that looks soooo freaking horrible they look like lizards ....:o
man I'm sorry but if things dont start looking better soon this thing is doomed to flopp at the box office.

ZariusTwo 01-12-2006 07:38 AM

No Shredder, worst CGI ever...

...Yeah, this will draw, big bucks people, big bucks.

THIS against Transformers?:dead:

The script will be likly solid, but Cubix has better CGI than this

onyx 01-12-2006 07:54 AM

Let's not forget that there is long time left until release, so I still hope they will look better in the final version ;)

Buslady 01-12-2006 08:13 AM

cheeks are too flat, eyes too far apart. I can go with the wide wrists and ankles cause turtles are like that..but they look funny. The skin coloring is amatureish, it looks like it was done in photoshop.

I wish Dreamworks or Pixar would've taken on TMNT...they'd be so much better.

Spitfire 01-12-2006 08:20 AM

Excuse my French but that looks like utter **** and if I saw that in theater I wouldn't want to see the movie. Espcially if I wasn't a big TMNT fan

onyx 01-12-2006 08:37 AM

Strange thing is that on the site, their shadows look way better.

Especially on the Cast&Crew page, the turtle on the left should be Leo. Compare to the poster. The eyes are totally different and differently placed and the cheeks are not flat.

It looks like they're just using the clip art that was created to go with the new show...

Again, I must complain about the lower jaw/the lack thereof. How on earth are they gonna make the Turtles talk without the bottom half of their faces looking like rubber? I mean, even the '80s turtles had more of a chin than that. And I echo the complaints of the others... Look at those "cheeks." Why are they all pointy and stick out funny like that? And they have really flat heads, too...

:dead: All I can say is... this better show some signs of having 1) an awesome story and 2)good animation to override the poor design... otherwise I may just wait to get it at the library. Or even blow it off completely.

Blah... the same image again... I demand something more...:|

LUCKFF 01-12-2006 11:36 AM

AND LOOK AT THE LENS FLARE. WHO THE **** USES LENS FLARE IN HOLLYWOOD?????????????

I LOOKED UP IMAGI AND THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING. ACCORDING TO IMDB THIS IS WHAT IS ON THEIR PLATE:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007) ... Production Company

Cat Tale (2006) ... Production Company
Genre: Adventure / Animation / Comedy / Family (more)

Plot Outline: Rover (Astin) is a cat who has grown up in Dogtown by accident, and voyages to Catopolis to find his roots.

Highlander: Vengeance (2006) ... Production Company
Genre: Animation / Action / Sci-Fi

Tagline: In revenge, patience is a virtue. And after a thousand years, Colin MacLeod doesn't give a damn about virtue ...

Plot Outline: An anime continuation of the HIGHLANDER saga, following immortal Colin MacLeod's quest for revenge in the future.

THE HIGHLANDER SOUNDS STUPID.

After all the awful movies that movie companies have dared to distribute lately I would have imagined that a lot of companies would have taken the new TMNT movie idea more seriusly or even fought for it, I can't belive that that's the only company ( with basically no curriculum) that would take the TMNT idea , having all the fandom that they have and being somewhat of a pop culture icon they should have a good and well deserved come back....I really hope that at least PL makes an effort to make this happen specially after the flops of TMNT III but we can only hope I guess .....

Mecha Cow 01-12-2006 12:01 PM

Are you guys sure there wasn't some kind of mixup and this is a Direct-to-DVD movie rather than a big-budget theatrical release?

Because this looks pathetic. Ab-so-lute-ly pathetic. It's as if they're trying to make it look bad. I'd rather see this project get cancelled than turn the TMNT into a laughing stock.

YOU KNOW IVE CONSIDERED THE FACT THAT THIS IS ONE OF THESE MOVIES THAT ARE SLATED TO BE RELEASED IN THEATERS BUT ULTIMATELY GETS PUT STRAIGHT TO DVD. AND YOUR RIGHT Mecha Cow, I'D RATHER SEE IT CANCELED THEN STRAIGHT TO DVD.

OK LETS JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE THOUGH. THEY HAVE MORE THEN A YEAR TO PROVE THEMSELVES. BUT ITS JUST THAT HOLLYWOOD DOESN'T FUNCTION LIKE IMAGI IS AT SUCH AN EARLY STAGE. I MEAN WE DONT SEE COLUMBIA PICTURES RELEASING HALF ASS PICTURES OF VENOM BEFORE SPIDERMAN 3 COMES OUT. WHEN THEY DO HE'LL BE COMPLETE AND A LIKENESS OF WHAT WE WILL EXPECT ON OPENING DAY. WHICH IS WHAT SCARES ABOUT THIS MOVIE (TMNT). IF THIS IS AN EARLY DRAFT, THEN WHY RELEASE SUCH A STUPID LOOKING IMAGE SO EARLY, I MEAN WE ARENT THAT DESPERATE, ARE WE? AND IF THIS IS THE FINAL PRODUCT THEN WE ARE ****ED.

Turtle Dove 01-12-2006 12:41 PM

You know it's just an early poster.I'd buy it, I decidedafter seeing what happened to the first Spiderman Movie posters, better safe then sorry.

Well that Highlander one is being done by Kevin Eastman so I wouldn't call it stupid just yet.

As for the poster. The eyes are just wrong... Leo shouldn't have orange eyes....he should have just all black eyes.

The Geiko gecko has better CGI then this.

Masked Ninja 01-12-2006 06:42 PM

Heck, I like the models from the CGI show pilot better than this stuff. While Splinter seriously needed some work, at least the Turtles were strongly reminiscient of the way their costumes looked in the movies. And the animation was somewhat nice... Just take the textures, rendering, and animation quality up to feature-film level and that would be cool! (or at least cooler...)

...Oh no... what do you guys think they've done to Splinter for this movie?! :teek:

zkarlette 01-12-2006 06:50 PM

I think that the short movies made for the new game turtles in time look way better than this....

Leonardo Mystic 01-12-2006 06:50 PM

The best thing to do is take this with a grain of salt. Don't believe anything just yet. Until something appears on the official movie site, or better yet, the official TMNT site, I'm not to believe it's the actual art, etc. as the poster depicts. IMAGI may have done major adjustments, or are going to do so. They still have a little over a year to go besides. Have faith in Laird, and them. :)

THATS A GOOD POINT, NOW THAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT. I REALLY ENJOYED THAT TRAILER THEY HAD FOR THE CGI TURTLES. I HAVE IT DOWNLOADED. I WATCH IT EVERY NOW AND THEN, AND YOU ARE RIGHT, ITS PRETTY GOOD. I REMEMBER BEING SO EXCITED WHEN I 1ST SAW IT.
