Hey, it's not my fault that you don't want to take a really interesting, fun, and beneficial course in the long run. Have you ever stopped to think that some of the most educated people on this planet have learned Latin as one of the many foreign languages they've taken in their life? 9 times out of 10, they have.

Well, apparently you did, because that's certainly the result now. Don't open your mouth (figuratively speaking) if you don't have something significant to say. If you wanted to avoid the flaming that I'm giving you right now, then you shouldn't have mentioned everything in the first place. As Apple Cat said, we really didn't need to know what your thoughts were about Latin at the time. By doing so, however, now you've started an argument that's way off the topic. I just made a simple comment about how my 2.5 years of Latin study has given me an inspiration to incorporate something into a fanfic that I want to write. I only mentioned it in one sentence; I was not giving anybody a Latin lesson. Sounds to me like you were just asking for proverbial butt-whooping.

I am surprised you didn't take Spanish, that is a language you can actually use in the world...Latin gives you a boost in verbal big whoop, take an SAT prep class....

1) I decided not to take Spanish mainly because it wasn't of interest to me. I hear it so damn much in my home town that it makes me sick! (no offense Nicko  ) Plus I don't plan on visiting any Spanish speaking countries in my life nor do I anybody who speaks Spanish as their first language, so why bother? Besides, Spanish is a Romance language anyway, so you might as well say that I'm learning early Spanish (
amigo comes from the Latin
amicus, which means "friend").
2) I never said I or anybody else in Latin class took it SOLEY for the purpose SAT prep, you moron. I just used an example of how beneficial it was by giving a statistical fact. It does more than just prepare you for a standarized test; in the end it might help you write a better resume, help you understand what the doctor is talking about without having to tell you in layman terms (many medical terms are almost direct Latin and Classical Greek), and in general it can help you write a better English paper. Take me, for example: ever since I started taking Latin my sophomore year, my writing has improved a great deal....and I mean GREAT deal. I've even impressed my English teacher from last year with some Latin (she always used to joke around with me about it). Hell, I just remembered that out CALENDAR is based on the ancient Roman version. Blah blah blah...
Tokka, I can safely deduce you as a mirror image of Stifler from the American Pie movies: doesn't have a clue, only worries about the moment, and has no appreciation for education. Don't even think about comparing me to Finch; I don't think a geek like him would dress the way I do (jeans and polo/t shirts and backwards baseball cap). Besides, I'm not THAT geeky: I don't know advanced physics or do terribly well in math either. Thank you, good night, end of argument.
TO GET THIS ON A TMNT-RELATED NOTE ONCE AGAIN SO THAT I DON'T GET INTO TOO MUCH TROUBLE:
Did I ever mention that my Latin teacher likes TMNT as well? :D :D :D That's what I get for having a teacher who was a teenager in the 80s...
