Drawing...seeking opinions
Ok...thought I'd post my latest drawing here. First TMNT pic I've done in like 6 years. Might be a bit rusty. o_O
Anywho, just like to get some opinions/evaluations, since there seem to be alot of great artists here... http://home.graffiti.net/chibikasai/tmnt3.jpg Peace. |
rusty?!
opinions?! EVALUATIONS!! screw that. I WANT LESSONS FROM YOU!!! dude/dudette, welcome to the drome. and seriously-- they're so EXPRESSIVE. Their shells LOOK INCREDIBLE. And the COLORS.... wowie. :o --kyabetsu, who is happy to learn humility from the Chibi. :P |
*jaw drop* Oh my god, that is fantastic. I totally dig the style. The expressions are perfect, and the details are amazing. And CG'd, which I couldn't do to save my life, so I'm doubly impressed.
And we welcome another kick-butt artist to the group. :D |
Very impressive... Indeed.

I love this style of drawing...great stuff..very cartoony, totally turtles
but they seem a bit feminen (sp?)...they need bigger muscles! other than that I love this, i wish i could draw cartoons like this :) |
wow great pic but i agree woth bigthew about the turtles being feminem
|
Oh wow!!!! what a style!!! thats incredible!!! :o
Although I don't think they need more muscles, I think the eyes are what mke them more feminine looking as you say... |
Ack! Insult the turtles' masculinity? How dare...
I am, of course, just kidding. :P Thanx for all the compliments! Hopefully they'll look less femme in the next pic. (now in coloring process) |
*comes in late* :o
Wowza... very nice indeed. Actually, you did this with marker. me thinks. The Turtles look like hand colored marker, and the background is CG.. am I right? But I do like the shading, the colors... and their expressions are just dead on. :tanime: I also think these look more like the Archie TMNT... and they do look like that. I don't think your drawing looks very feminine, in that case. The arms n legs got the muscles (whereas most female style has no muscle definaition at all). Maybe it was the faces they were referring too. The faces do look a tad girlish. Hrmm.. maybe if you looked at the archie style a bit more to get the fleshed-out boy look... I think that's what the others are wanting. Oh.. and Archie Leo has the straps cross above his belt. Love to see more of your work too! :thyper: |
keep the drawings coming!!

Aww...hate to say it, but you're actually wrong about the coloring technique, HorseTechie. It's all computer colored. The strokes in it were achived like so:
1.Scanning in a pencil shaded version. (Which will now be referred to as T1) 2. Copying T1 as a second file, which I'll call T2. 3. Coloring T2 in Paintshop Pro, mostly using my fill tool. 4. After T2 is colored, I paste T1 on top as a new layer, and set it to multipy. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. Or something. BTW, you *are* right about the Archie style. I used to draw alot back in 5th grade by looking at the Chris Allen drawn issues. The influence has kinda stuck. :tanime: Yes, I love my Archie Leo, as my avatar shows :D Peace. :) |
*grin* That was my second guess... this elusive Paintshop Pro program I have been hearing so much about lately. (I hope the class I take next semester uses this program) But your trick to get that effect is cool!
Hrmm.. and lo, and other Leo fan is amongst us! :D I'm a Don/Raph fan, who's drawing style closely resembles Jim Lawson's (late Mirage comic). But I like to draw in the Archie way too from time to time. |
