TMNT Lost Season on DVD Sept 12th?
That mysterious "Season 4" DVD listing that's been showing up on many retailer sites may actually be the Lost Season. RightStuf has changed their "Rise of the New Shredder" listing to "Season 4" as well, and it now has a runtime of 300 minutes. That would equal 13 23-minute episodes. :)

Indeed. Maybe this is just something 4kids is wanting to do to help promote the Turtles. I really hope we get the Lost Season in September. Means less of a wait to see the Ninja Tribunal. Sweet!!!! :D

I've not got it yet but I think someone mentioned that the ad breaks have been taken out for "Vol. 3.7: Hun on the Run". Now without advert breaks the episodes run for approximatley 21 1/2 minutes. That is the exact running time of nearly all of the season 1 episodes as classified by BBFC (check their site here; www.bbfc.co.uk). Now 14x21.25 = 297.5. Of course their is some difference between PAL and NTSC running times so that might throw that calculation off and make it only 13 episodes. My reason for thinking it's the end of Season 4 rather than the Lost Episodes and Ninja Tribunal is that it doesn't make sense to release Lost Season before the end of Season 4, and if they could get Lost Season ready for before Jan 2007 (4 months is a lot to bring it forward by) I think they'd use it for Thanksgiving or X-Mas to target a bigger market. Whether it's 13 or 14 I really hope it will include "Insane in the Membrane". If they're putting 2 episodes with TLS then "Tale of Master Yoshi" makes more sense from a story POV. |
This release will include the last 13 episodes of season 4. It isn't the Lost season and it wont include Insane in The Membrence. That will probably be included on the Lost sesaon DVD, released in January 2007.

13 episode set? Shell yeah. It's about time.
They should re-release the whole series in 13 episode or 26 episode sets. But this is a start. |

Actually Vol. 3.8: Rise of the New Shredder was put back from August to September... to the same date as the "Season 4" release. No where lists both, just one or the other:
http://www.navarre.com/prodhome.aspx...081&Prod=video Rise of the New Shredder, $14.98, 125 mins, 12/9/06 (box art here too!) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...v=glance&n=130 Season 4, $12.98, ? mins, 12/9/06 http://www.hidefdvd.com/ Season 4, $10.90, ? mins, 12/9/06 http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6...69494/4/852/24 Season 4, $12.74, 300 mins, 12/9/06 So either "Season 4" is a delayed "Rise of the New Shredder" or "Rise of the New Shredder" has become "Season 4" (or is the title for Season 4). Originally we were looking at 3.8 in August, 3.9 in November, Lost Season and FF 1.1 in Jan 07. I'm thinking that 3.8 and 3.9 have been combined into "Season 4" (or whatever it ends up called) and The Lost Season has been brought forward for late Nov/early Dec for a holiday season release, probably to cash in on both the seasonal increase in sales and the hype they hope FF will create with the younger audience. |
I think that they'll wind up pushing the release date back up for August to coincide with the release of the next 12 episodes from the old school TMNT.
However, if it is September 12th, that means I have at least 3 things to buy: Grey's Anatomy Season 2 (for my Girlfriend), Smallville Season 5 (for me) and this too... It's going to be a busy September. |
