TMNT Season 4 DVD - 14 episodes!

Navarre has now changed their listing for the next DVD, yet still kept the incorrect cover art and description intact. :p

http://www.navarre.com/prodhome.aspx...081&Prod=video

I'm thinking of the 15 episodes of Season 4 left unreleased, they've left off "Insane In The Membrane". But I guess we'll have to wait a bit more and see..

Spitfire 06-28-2006 05:50 PM

Their not giving us 14 episodes for 15 bucks. I really doubt that news is true. Though it would be awesome. I'd E-mail Dan before you get to excited about it.

Gary 06-28-2006 06:24 PM

14 episdoes aren't 125 minutes.

The page has the runtime and description for Vol 21: Hun On The Run. RightStuf lists a runtime of 300 minutes for this "Vol 22" release. :)

TheShowstoppa 06-28-2006 09:25 PM

If that's true, that would be a 14 Episode DVD... which finally means Funimation might be getting off their asses and doing something productive for once.

PrometheusUFO 06-28-2006 09:38 PM

Buy.com claims this release contains 14 episodes as well. :)

J Legault 06-28-2006 11:03 PM

too good to be true. So i'll wait for the release of this one

PrometheusUFO 06-29-2006 06:58 AM

This release is also listed as "Season 4" at Amazon, Video Universe, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble & Borders. Not to mention that Navarre owns FUNimation now. Wouldn't they know what their release plans are? *shrug* :P

Spitfire 06-29-2006 07:29 AM

You can't fit that many episodes on one disk, not good quality ones anyways. And I really doubt their going to let us have that many episodes for 15 bucks when we pay 10 for 5 usually and they could be making twice that. I'd be happy if those listings are right but I have a feeling their not. That's why I E-mailed Dan about it so we will see.

As I understand it, the 4-14 does not mean "season 4 with 14
episodes" - unfortunately I'm not really sure what it does mean, but
it may be the numeric system that FUNimation has adopted for season
four DVD releases (thus the "4" represents season 4 - no idea what
"14" could be, though. FUNimation changed their numbering system once
already, perhaps they're doing it again. Unfortunately they haven't
sent us their past two releases, so I'm behind on what they're up
to). And there's always a chance that the web site selling the DVD
listed the numbering incorrectly.

Anyways, if you look at the last descriptive, it states that the DVD
has a running time of 125 minutes, which indicates five episodes will
be included (since episodes typically run 22 minutes). Judging by the
synopses in the description, it's definitely five episodes - I have
no idea which episode the main text is referring to (sounds like "Hun
on the Run" to me, which was already released on volume 3.7 with that
very title) but perhaps these are the other four: "Grudge
Match" (#84), "Aliens Among Us" (#87), "Still Nobody" (#89) and
"Dragon's Rising" (#88). Judging by the title of the DVD, "The Rise
of the New Shredder" - perhaps the main episode is actually "Scion of
the Shredder" (#93). Unfortunately I don't know as we haven't gotten
any info recently.

I've asked Steve Murphy to contact FUNimation - if we get any
information, I'll post it on the Updates page.
Bascially he doesn't know but he's gona check into it.

I'm thinking this is one time we may get lucky and the 2 disc/14 episode set is actually right.

Hopefully this will be;

Disc 1
89. Still Nobody
91. Samurai Tourist
92. The Ancient One
93. Scion of the Shredder
94. Prodigal Son
95. Outbreak
96. Trouble with Augie

Disc 2
97. Insane in the Membrane
98. Return of Savanti Part 1
99. Return of Savanti Part 2
100. Tale of Master Yoshi
101. Adventures in Turtle-Sitting
102. Good Genes Part 1
103. Good Genes Part 2

If this is right then hopefully TLS will have been moved forward from late January to an X-Mas period release. An 11-14 disc set (104. Ninja Tribunal and 10-13 Lost Episodes). That would be as great X-Mas for TMNT! Or they could just more FF Vol. 1.1 forward to cover the X-Mas period and leave TLS until the Spring...

Gary 06-29-2006 03:20 PM

Fourteen episodes would look very ugly on a single DVD.

Drtooth 06-30-2006 10:40 AM

yeah... but then if you pay 15 bucks for 15 episodes, it's still a better bargain than 15 bucks for 5 episodes, no ,matter what the quality.

I just hope this convinces them to make season sets of 1-3 as well. I'd go broke trying to track all of the DVD's at 10+ a pop.

Gary 06-30-2006 03:17 PM

I'd rather pay the 30 for the 15 episodes as long as I'm getting good quality.

I agree, I hate bad quality DVDs.

Chris 07-01-2006 02:45 AM

How about 2 disc set? 7 episodes per DVD. Batman TAS proved you can still have 7 episodes on a DVD without the quality going down.

The old TMNT has 12 episodes on one disc...

Gary 07-07-2006 04:06 PM

The old episodes aren't as good of quality as the new episodes.

OldSchooler 07-07-2006 04:47 PM

Still better than VHS. Or nothing...
