Superherohype.com managed to sit down with the director and producer of the new TMNT movie at the SDCC. Please note that there are minor plot spoilers in the interview, but there is the REAL sypnosis of the movie too. IF you want to listen, go ahead, but you were fairly warned.

Personally, this interview got me so JAZZED up for this movie I'm now counting down the days to a T until this movie comes out. We need a countdown header up at the top of the forum for crying out loud! Mugglenet has theirs for when "Such and such" of Harry Potter comes out!

-EDIT: ACK!!! I searched all over the "trailer is up" thread and couldn't find this, but I overlooked it. However, due to the current bitching about which movie is better than what, I feel this thread is important by itself.

Also, if you listen to the interview, it talks about the turtles having gone back in time, so the third movie will stay in continuity. Sorry for all those who hate it, but it happens. All I can say is just deal with it and let it go. However, you also need to note that there was no word anywhere in that interview whether Shredder would be in it. I take this as it could be a surprise, or he just isn't in it.

Yes your correct He said at the comi-con that the movie will be more like the first movie with bits of the second and take from there but they don't plan to use anything from the third movie but they will show hints of things from it if I can remember correctly.
And I'm going to say this for the friggin gazillion time now KEVIN SAID SHREDDER WILL NOT BE IN THIS MOVIE.

Hah... I think people are having trouble with that idea because for some reason it's being reported that Shredder will make an appearance. I think I saw that somewhere "credible" in the media but I can't remember now. Thanks for the correction.

I mean yea I think my brain is a pretty credible source seeing as I was there unless I mean it was all some crazy dream lol or I'm going deff or something.

It doesn't bother me that he's not in this one. I'm very interested in seeing where they take the series from here. But, once again: He did make a comment in THAT interview from above that they had been to feudal Japan. That's all I'm going on to think that there are just tiny tidbits of 3's continuity in there. However, I'm also not doubting your word at all, so don't think that.

Yeah the guy making the game mentioned that he's in it and people are stupid and probly assumed that means he's in the movie too.

Not to bring up a bad topic again, but even though the Shredder is not in this movie, Munroe does note the fact that he was Defeated and not killed. This could play a very central role to the tone of the movie. Apparently Karai will be an enemy in this movie - Which flips me out just a little bit. I wonder why they're deciding to make her more of an enemy than a friend like in the comics. (However, we still have to wonder what's up with the foot in the Volume 4 storyline... though we won't know for 8 months or longer...).

he said at the comi-con that they do not plan for him to be in the movie like I've been saying but they aren't throwing out the idea of having him come back if this movie does well...and I have a fealing that it will!:evilgrin:
Also don't be to sure about the Karai as the villian thing because he said at the Con which was just last wed. mind you that there is a brand new villian thats never been in any of the tmnt universes before. And if she is bad I'm sure it won't last long.

That's why it's so obvious that if they are putting Shredder in it, it will most likley be in the final few minutes of the film, to set him up as the villian for a sequal. Similar to the Joker playing card at the end of Batman Begins.

Well he didn't specifixally say Karai was a villain, just that she was a non-turtle character they were reintroducing. I'm walking away from this comic-con with a warm fuzzy feeling about the movie. Except for the Volume 4 hiatus... that makes me cry. :(

I think Karai would be great, She and turtles are evenly matched in there skills, So we'll be treated with some really well done fight scenes.

This I can tell you right now since I've seen some stuff you will be very impressed with the fight scenes!

What concerns me about the TG interview is that he states in order to make the PG cut he had to cut out ninja stars. He then goes on to state that Nunchuks are not allowed to appear in PG films in Scandanavia.

Does that mean that Mikey won't use his chucks? That would be disasterous!

Not any less than Leo will use his swords or Raph will use his sai.

At various times when I was a kid, I had unsupervised access to shuriken, chuks, swords, and such weaponry. We had constant access to tools, and sometimes created our own weapons. Wasn't really a good thing. I kind of understand the concern.

haha I know right it's funny they sell all of those things at the fleamarket.
so I don't see why it's such a big deal...i used to buy studded nunchucks and sais all the time as a kid. I've always been against keeping things from kids...I say the more you keep it from them the more they will want it.

So how will action be done just hand to hand combat this cant be right. I was looking forward to seeing ninja stars and nin-chucku.
