They obviously still didn't get the message sent to them.

Anyone saw today's FF Toy commercial? The Hover Shell toy looks pretty cool, but that's not really the thing. At the end of the commercial, you see a bad CGI Leo holding a slice of pizza and saying something along the lines of how much he loves pizza or something. Man, whoever wrote this commercial still is still stuck in 1987.

see, that's just the thing. The network programming guys do not know about the franchise. All they know is that in the 80's and early 90's there was a cartoon on called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They are probably aware of the comic, but have never looked at one and fankly, they don't care what WE say...they don't even know we exist. They think TMNT's main target audience is boys ages 5-10.

They also went through a change in leadership down there. I am POSITIVE that when that happened, all the people who were on board with the show were out...That has been established as why Insane in the membrane got cut. Initially it passed the test, but halfway through the season, the new guard came in and did not like what they saw.

They now are trying to recreate the model from the past. To resurrect the old show because they think that is all the show can be. After all, that is how the vast majority of people here were introduced to the TMNT and how it became a mainstream kind of franchise.

The numbers were great for the first couple seasons of 2k3..then plateaued, and started to slip....as did revenue dollars from toy sales. It's all business. every bit of it. They are thinking of the bottom line and nothing else.

I think TMNT 2k3 probably just started to skew to old. It didn't hit it's target demographic. Older fans don't buy as many toys (I mean read some of the griping on this very board about Playmates product...;)) That's what i hope anyway, that the "new" TMNT was just to darn...well....good to reach the kiddies, but gave old school fans the TMNT they longed for since the first movie.

That's one of the mock-blooper clips from the Mutant Melee videogame.

You're exactly right, it seems. The 4kids team and Playmates only see this show as a simple childish show like the old show. We know they're wrong, and that's why this show should've always been on Toonami or some primetime slot. Only if there were people at 4Kids and Playmates who had some interest in the franchise, and could appreciate this good show. None of them probably are interested as a Fan is, but only for the revenue the franchise gives them.

I'm just hoping after the lost season and fast forward are over (and let's face it, the show will be off the air) that Laird will make sure that the real series keeps going on DVD or something. He can probably afford it, and he could probably do it if he decides it's worth it.

Actually I could see them Putting out some direct to dvd tmnt2k3 movies if the show gets taken off the air and i definitley wouldnt mind that.

Anyone else see this happening??
