Magazine Finds Nation's Angriest Cities
POSTED: 10:59 am CDT August 15, 2006 A study conducted by Men's Health magazine has found that Orlando, Fla., ranks No. 1 on a list of the angriest cities in the nation. Top 100: Angriest Cities "Orlando has never been a strategic military target, and yet the folks there are furious," the magazine said. The magazine looked at the percentage of men with high blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and FBI rates for aggravated assaults, as well as workplace deaths from assaults and other violence. Those numbers were compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Traffic congestion data were also a factor. Orlando was joined in the top 10 by three other Florida cities -- St. Petersburg, Miami and Jacksonville. Top 10 Angriest Cities 1. Orlando, Fla. What have you been doing Mickey??? 2. Florida's on the list a total of 5 times, there. I blame the heat... and the humidity... and the bugs... and the tourist traps... and the Dolphins...
The closest city to me is Rochester, which is listed at #86. Interesting. I've been there a few times and the only thing I could surmise to make one angry would be traffic and crowds. Couple that with gas prices and I guess it qualifies... Then there's Buffalo at #37. Heh. I blame the cold and the Bills for that one. |

Not surprised at Baltimore. If ever you read Edgar Allen Poe and wonder how anyone could have such a dreary, miserable mindset, just pop on by B-town and you'll understand. It's one of those few American towns that still has a stark division between the aristocrats and the peasantry. |
I'm shocked Nashville is in there. I mean, traffic here is nothing to write home about, but....well...we have the southern hospitality thing going on! Maybe all thet deep fried stuff we eat causes our blood pressure number to skew the data for us :ohwell:
and I've been all over Florida...and while I'd never count it as a "southern" culture state...I have not found a part I didn't like yet :D |
Tna! Tna! Tna! Tna! Tna! Tna!

I think Florida got 'voted' on that list.

43 is Seattle! Well of course Seattle's angry! Helloo! All the traffic, all the taxes, the fraking mayor...
31 is Lubbock, Texas.. I lived there 20 years ago...I think it's cuz they miss Buddy Holly.... :P 68 is Spokane....they're angry cuz the streets are confusing.... :P...Seriously easy to get lost in Spokane... course there's not much to do there either... 88 is Salt Lake City... Angry cuz there's no Starbucks perhaps? 18 is Tuscon...you'd be angry too if you had to live with the heat or the floods...or hot rain (90 degrees but hey! It's raining! ) 86 is Rochester....uh...my dad's from near there (Ithaca)...last time I was there it didn't seem angry-ish.... |
