April's Stats
Just wondering, what are April's stats? From the vintage action figure this is what I have so far:
Birthplace: The Valley (what or where is "The Valley") Height: 5'5 Weight: 115 lbs (although I have seen some vintage April figures that say 105 lbs. That seems too thin.) Age: 25 Does anyone else have any other stats for April? |

Like, Oh my Gawwww!, She's totally a Valley girl. That's so grody! (That valley) |
Pioneer Valley (or is it Connecticut River Valley?)... that's where Northampton is! Natch! ;)

But yeah 105 pounds sounds really light. Like in Batman when Vicki Vale says she's 108 pounds. |
old toon April didn't act like a valley girl though. I never got that "like oh my Gawd" vibe from her at all. April was more cultured than that.
and as far as hight goes, I would say she is more 5 foot 9 than 5'5. I mean she towers over the turtles head and shoulders, and I always felt that the turtles where 5 foot 1 or 2 or something along those lines. :ohwell: |

Those are her stats in the arcade game. Seems to be in agreement that she's 5'5 and 115 pounds. According to April, the Ravishing Reporter, she's "99.9 lbs. wearing chains ". Was that supposed to be the April character giving her own weight? Because if that was the case Vicki Vale was more believable at 108. |
what about new toon april?
|
According to the official site, she stands at a height of five feet eight inches, and tips the scales at an astonishing one hundred twenty five pounds, the belly shirt wearing sidekick of the Ninja Turtles...April "Carrot Top" O'Nnneeeiiilllll.
http://www.ninjaturtles.com/html/profile5.htm I do remember that profile once having a different pic of April though. |
for a cartoon character i find her strangely attractive... (new toon) is this wrong?
also, rogue from x-men, original toon :P |
somebody likes amazingly buxom red heads  ;)
|
:blanksta: 125 lbs. is buxom?? In all honesty, I find new toon April to be attractive as well. She's smart, funny, friendly, reasonable, and not hard to look at (that last one may be an understatement, but I ain't drooling over no 'toon... not in public anyway :goof: ). The downside is that she's not real. But, hopefully, I can find someone in my area who fits that general description. :goofygri: Stranger things have happened...

I've always thought of April as this -
Name: April O'Neil Job: Lab Assistant/News Reporter/Antique Shop Owner Height: 5'8" - 5'9" Weight: 125lb - 130lb Hair: Red or Red/Brown Specialty: Computers, adventuring into the unknown, and can hold her ground when in a fight instead of being captured all the time by the bad guys That's all I think we need to know, is it? |
This got me thinking, was there ever a time in the series where April brought up her weight/was worried about it? Because I've heard of other times where she had a vain streak(like complaining about being a 27 year old "hag"). I remember in the Archie mini-series she complained that she was putting on weight while squeezing through a sewer drain.

Well, different sources are always going to give of stats that are a little off, I've got an old annual from 1991 that lists her stats as this:
Age: "About 25" Height: 1.6M (5'5") Weight: 52Kg (115 lbs) I can't remember a time in the original cartoon when she moaned about her weight, although she did tell Irma to watch hers a few times. Her age was mentioned as 28 in Leatherhead: Terror of the Swamp, and her height was never given. Seems the only time she mentions her weight herself is in that Archie comic..... but I haven't seen that, so I can't comment. |

APRIL O'NEIL Real Name: April O'Neil Age: 27 Sex: Female Weight: 115 lbs. Height: 5'8" Level of Education: Master's Degree Criminal Record: None |

Yeah, the Archie comic pretty much added a bit of dialogue in the mini-series during the scene where she was getting away from the punks. As she's halfway through that narrow sewer drain she says to herself, "ouch, this is a tight squeeze. You must be putting on weight, O'Neil." I also still have the cassette tape from that comic. I got another copy of that comic a few years ago. |
It's at the end of the 50" Irma episode. April keeps on about Irma's diet. When I remember where the episode is, I'll get a more accurate description.
Speaking of which, I vaguely remember in one of the European vacation episodes, that when April's assignment was changed to a food tasting story, Irma said to April to look on the bright side.... she'd probably gain a ton of weight. Not quite sure what that means, but hey. Her age can be explained in that she gets 1 year older every series, which seems logical, and as for her height, I've got no information at all. |
I guess Irma was being sarcastic when she implied that April was going to gain a ton of weight. Unless Irma was trying to imply that it would make it harder for ROcksteady and Bebop to nab April.
Heh, I'm watching the 50' Irma episode now. April sure makes a big deal about Irma being on a diet, and making sure she doesn't go off of it. April might as well call her a fatty. So anyway at the end Irma goes after the Turtle's pizza and they refer to her as a little lady. Then April tells Irma, "you'll never be called a little lady again if you keep eating like that. What about your diet?" Then Irma tells her that she doesn't need to diet anymore since she lost ten thousand pounds. Man, April really got on Irma's case about her weight. |
