great quote... :)

anyways, this is going to be an interesting thing to do, sounds like itll be a heck of a lot of fun though :) if it works out post pics up

anyways, first iw oudl suggest getting something along hte lines of latex paint, and make sure you getLOTS of green shades ~.~

the next goal would be actually constructing the suit, personally if i were you, i would look online for a muscle diagram of hte human body, and using foam [like the foam your couch coushins are made out of] cut pieces accordingly, sewing them on and using your sewing machine as a method of creating the lines in the muscle [putting stiches where ripples would be between muscles]

the suit should consist of a lot of pieces: hands, forearm, upper arm [including shoulders] Chest [up to neck], and hten finally pantlegs

then theres the shell [both front and back] which im sorry but im completely stumped on how to make [milk cartons maybe? i dont think htat would make a good quality shell though] and then finally the head, then once all that is made, it would be time to design the wrist/elbow pads and bandana, im guessing more foam with red [or whatever color you decide to use] material covering.

the best method for creating the suit imo: get a long sleeve shirt/tights? [extra big, and preferablly thin, the thinner would seem like the less hot the suit will be, although with allt he foam i doubt itll matter that much] and cut it accordingly to what pieces your working on, and use it as a base to sew your foam onto [probably best to wear it while you work, giving yourself the basic stitchings by hand and going in later with a sewing machine to stitch it on good]

basically create a costume-replica of the human body [toned alot of corse since hte turtles are in shape] and dont forget the sides! the shell should only hide the front and back, your sides should be completely see-able, so make sure you put some detail in there.

once youve created your muscles, time to cover htem...that would be the hard part imo, try finding a psudo-leather maybe? or thick latex? im not sure :S preferably green though. cover it as skin woudl cover the muscle, trying to keep seems hidden the best you can [keep in mind of what will cover what, arms, wrist/elbow pads, knee pads, shell, belt, etc etc.] and use probably a glusih substance for viens, procede to use the paint to re-pain the skin, making it a comfortible tone of green and add shadow, using multiple shades. i think spraypaint would work best honostly i fyou can find any that will stick well.

then theres the head...id love to help you there guy, but i got no idea.

specific type of foam rubber material...
ya gotta sculpt the body in pieces. make molds.
get an air brush, paint that works with the foam rubber
leather and make pads and junk...
fake eyes...make teeth..probably made out of plastic or resin or something
you gotta size it too..

it's no minor undertaking

actually in the movie costumes, the sides are covered with shell; they include...for once..a turtle's bridge, the piece on the sides that brace the carapace and plastron. so you got the back, front and sides to cover

I agree with yeahduderad. I have no experience in making costumes, so I couldn't help you on that front, but please keep us informed on your progress and don't forget to post a lot of pictures!
